We had a customised day tour of London for 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 11. Communication was fantastic from the moment of booking with Gio taking a real interest in our children's wish list and making other suggestions to the itinerary.
Our tour guide was Flic and we could not rate her highly enough. Flic was engaging and had a level of knowledge that demonstrated the time and effort she had invested in preparing for our tour.
We absolutely appreciated having Flic to guide us around the Tower of London directing us to interesting parts and telling us about the history. We travelled on the tube several times including the new Elizabeth line, seen filming locations for Paddington & Harry Potter and went on the London Eye. There were many other facts and stories shared through our tour and we would not hesitate to arrange another tour with Private London Tours and Flic.

Where to begin? This was an absolutely incredible tour. From the start, Gio, the tour operator, was highly responsive, collaborative, and full of great suggestions. I felt prepared for the trip and was able to provide a lot of input.
THe morning of the trip, Jasmin, an actress and comic who is legitimately hilarious and whose face I would (as an American) put on the Mount Rushmore of Great Tour Guides met me on time in the lobby. From there we began our journey by foot and bus where I received a survey of all of the major London landmarks from Tower Bridge where Jasmin pulled up a hilarious YouTube video to embellish her storytelling, to Piccadilly Circus. Along the way Jasmin was full of stories both funny and tragic about London's history. She was also keen to get to know each other so it really felt like I had a longtime friend showing me around their city.
We stopped for a brief lunch (note to self, "Club Soda" is not a thing here, order "sparkling water" in the future or you will be mercilessly roasted in the best possible way). Following lunch, we saw so many sights including Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace, the Diana Memorial, and ended our day outside Westminster Abbey at the Abraham Lincoln statue.
One important note, this is primarily a survey of major London sights with hours of accompanying stories, facts, legends, etc. You don't go into the sights (I suppose you could but it would take away from your time with your guide). I knew that going into it so I had the right expectations but if you're expecting to actually enter Buckingham Palace book a different tour or work with Gio to see how you can make that happen.
I can't say enough good things. If you're on the fence for any reason, be it price, timing, or anything else, put those concerns out of your mind and book this tour today. Request Jasmin if you can - both she and Gio will go out of their way to make your tour perfect.

Gavin was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about all things London and focused on the topics we suggested when we first set up the tour. We got the inside view of history from a 5th generation Londoner (especially about his family’s experiences during the two great wars). Our 14 year old daughter said it was a great day … the best part of the day was the tour guide!

We customized 2 days of private tours for our group of 7 with ages ranging from 84 to 13. It was a wonderful and memorable experience. The communication was frequent both before and after the tours. I felt highly confident that we would have a great experience and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend for all families to make the most of your time in London.
Day 1 included Tower of London, Westminster abbey, and the Churchill war rooms. Our guide met us at our hotel and was full of knowledge and energy. The coach was in pristine condition and driver was A+ in terms of professionalism and courtesy. After a full day, we were dropped back off at our hotel.
Day 2 included Windsor castle and Hampton court. Again, fabulous tour guide and driver. We learned so much and saw so much by being with this private tour. Worth every penny (pound 😎).
I will use again when returning to London.

This was my husband and my first trip to London, and we didn’t want to be on what we call “cattle call” tours. We wanted to make it a personal experience and Private London Tours and Gio delivered in ways that went above and beyond our expectations. Working with Gio ahead of time was easy and he even helped with things that weren’t “tour” related since we knew very little about London. We did five days of private tours with Gavin, Georgie, and Michael and we loved them all. Each guide was warm, open, and very knowledgeable.
What we valued most was that Gio worked with us ahead of time to find out our interests and convey this to each guide. This allowed the guides to know we were going to take lots of pictures (photography is a hobby of ours) and my husband was going to talk history.
We started out with the Imperial War Museum with Michael. My husband is very into WWII history and Michael had the passion to match. Michael and he talked up a storm about both the British view of WWII and the American view. We learned a lot about the blitz and how London and Londoners survived.
Gavin was our guide on two different days. The first was the changing of the guards, Westminster Abby, Churchill War Rooms, and West London walking tour. Gavin went above and beyond by not only taking us to the beginning of the changing to the guards at St. James Court for great photos, but as soon as they were marching towards Buckingham Palace, he took us to a second vantage point so we could get photos of the new guards coming out of the barracks. While this was a long day with a lot of information, we had so much fun with Gavin time seemed to fly. The second day with Gavin included Stonehenge inner circle tour and Bath. Gavin once again delivered not only history, but also a caring and genuine interest in us making it seem we were seeing the sights with an old friend instead of a guide.
Windsor Castle and Hampton Court with Georgie was another great day. Georgie was able to answer all our questions as we toured both sites, but what made it most enjoyable is Georgie herself. She is enthusiastic about history and making sure we had the best time. Georgie was so excited that the Queen was in residence at Windsor Castle the day we toured, and this excitement just radiated to all we did throughout the day. Hampton Court was just as exciting to Georgie, and she made sure we knew all the tidbits of information about King Henry VIII which made it even more relatable.
I could go on and on about each of the guides and how wonderful they were. While there were all different, each one made us feel we were with old friends not just another person they were guiding.
We did have a hiccup with the day we did the Tower of London and the Borourgh Food Tour, but it was quickly remedied by Gio, so this doesn’t change our view that touring London with Private London Tours is the best experience you could have in London. We will use Private London Tours again when we return to London without question.

We took a full day tour of London. Admittedly, we were ambitious in that we wanted to see a lot in one day. Gio tailored a tour for us and it was great! Dani, our tour guide, had a lot of energy and an incredible amount of knowledge. It was a long day, but she never stopped telling us stories of the history behind the locations. I even asked her some questions just to mess with her to see if she could answer and she always knew the answer! It was a great day and my family was very happy. I highly recommend the company and Dani as your guide.

We had a wonderful day with Emily as our guide. At our request we saw The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and The Churchill War Room. We got more than this as Emily showed as things along the way, even weaving us through many celebrative Londoners so that we could be a part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebration.
Emily proved to be warm and knowledgeable.
We had a special and memorable day and much of that was because of Emily!

We did three tours with Private London Tours:
1. A day tour including Westminster Abbey, Churchill's War Rooms, Borough Market for lunch, Tower of London, and a walk across the top of Tower Bridge
2. The British Museum
3. Hampton Court with a private car
They are all 5+ stars! Our guides were knowledgable and personable. They engaged our 10.5 year old daughter and focused on things that were of interest to her. My husband and I have both visited London many times and we learned many things as well. The guides were so much more than someone who had merely completed a course; they were truly experts and were able to translate that expertise into a presentation that appealed to all three members of our family.
It was so easy to be able to make all arrangements through Gio and not have to worry about the timing of booking individual entrances to each site. There were a few sights we weren't able to visit on this trip and I look forward to using Private London Tours again soon!

We loved our private tour with Georgie. She was amazing. She showed us so many amazing things and told us lots of cool history about London and the places we visited. I don't know how she remembers it all. She was so personable and took the time to know what we liked. I would highly recommend a tour with Private London Tours. We can't wait to go back and do another tour with Georgie. She was the best private guide we've ever had.

My family was scheduled to visit London at the end of June 2020. After much research on London private tour guides, I was lucky enough to find Gio from Private London Tours Ltd. He planned out 2 great days for us to see the London sights and to head out to visit Windsor Castle. His insights were spot on for our family and we were very much looking forward to the trip. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go given the current environment. Gio was very accommodating on the cancellation and went above and beyond to secure refunds for tickets that he had already purchased for the various sites we planned to attend. We will definitely book with Gio when things get back to normal and we can get to London. Thanks for your time and effort Gio!

I think it's really important to treat our guests fairly and I am glad the flexible cancellation policy worked well.
Excellent customer service is the founding principle of Private London Tours and I always want to make sure that our guests are happy.
Hopefully the current situation ends soon and we can pick right back up where we were and our guides can welcome you our amazing city! See you soon!

Hi
we are travelling in June to Ireland but we have a transfer time of 5 hours so we would love to see the Highlights of London by a private driver, is that possible? The duration should be max 2hours maybe 3.
Should it be able to pick us up from Heathrow airport?
Tower Bridge, Big Ben, London Eye are the three we would love to see for sure. If more we would like that!
kind regards

Hi - For Sunday March 15, 2020 (St Patrick's celebration day) are there certain sights that would be impossible to get to? Buckingham changing of the guards happens on Sundays, and we'd love to include that - is it a drive by or are we able to get up close to watch it? Also, at the end, would we be able to be dropped off around noon at a place that enables us to see the St. P. parade? Thanks!
Gio; My sister will be in London 25/8/19-30/8/19 and wants to do a tour (1person). I told her how much we enjoyed our day tour with you and she would prefer touring with you as well. Are you available anytime during these dates?

Hello!! Reading the reviews and now tempted to book a full day tour with you guys! We are there on third week of June, on a Sunday we would like to arrange this tour. Questions:
1. Any limitation on number of places to visit? I have a list!!
2. Is this walking tour or transportation is arranged?
3. London eye -- is the ticket included in this price (via trip advisor)
4. Guide will meet at the hotel?
5. Lunch included/separate?
Let me know. Looking forward o hear back. Thanks!!

On this tour you basically learn where everything is and the best way to get there. You see the outside of each place you have chosen. If transportation is needed, such as a bus or underground, Gio takes you on them. Many sights are within walking distance, depending on your hotel. Gio meets you in the lobby if the hotel is within London. You do not have the time to go into the various sites. From the outside, Gio gives you a lot of information and suggestions. You book tickets for entrance separately, and on a different day. We ended at the London Eye, so we could use our "Skip the Line" passes then, but we bought them ourselves. Gio knew what time the passes were active, and was sure to get us there on time. It was helpful to know where the correct line stated-the London Eye is incredibly busy and crowded, but with Gio's help we were able to walk right u and get on, skipping the long lines. Gio will reply to your questions on e-mail, and work with you to make a customized day.

We are coming to London and Italy in September. we tend to take private tours when we travel. We will have 3 adults in their 30's and two age 60 and in great health so walking is no problem. We are interested in the 6.5 day private tour for the 5 of us. Most places would be fine not to enter but there are some places we would like to see inside. is that possible? I realize that we would have to pay an entrance fee.
Thank You:)

It’s my understanding that if you’re wishing to go into museums etc, you would have to go on your own. You will have a lot to see in 6 1/2 hours. Tour guide is beyond excellent and knowledgeable.

Why does the price go up "per person" as the number of guests goes up. Usually its the opposite A 6.5 hr tour for 15 people totals over $15000

Hi - we haven’t been to London in more than 10 years but have visitors many tines before. Is a tour like this appropriate for repeat visitors like us? Does the questionnaire suggest specific sites/areas to visit. My husband is particularly interested in art and gardens and I am a chef/foodie.

Hello our names are John and Florence Di Stefano. We are from the US and are trying to book a 2 day 7 to 8 hour per day tour of London proper the first day and Windsor Castle and the countryside and maybe another castle like Hever or Leeds the second day. We would like to get a feel for the English countryside . The dates are May 30 and May31, 2019. I am 69 and can do a walking tour since I routinely walk 8 to 12 miles a day anyway. HOWEVER my spouse Flo who’s is 67 has lower back and knee issues and can not unfortunately do that much walking so I’m afraid we will need a vehicle to get us from site A to site B and so on.
What would be the fee for both days under these stipulations?
We will be staying at the Grosvenor Hotel at 101 Buckingham Palace Rd.
We are looking for suggestions for which tourist attractions to view.
If it were feasible we would like to see the following:
Day 1
Buckingham Palace / Hyde Park* / St James
The Eye
Westminster Abby / Parliament
Tower of London / Tower Bridge*
Tate Modern / London Bridge*
St Paul’s Cathedral
If time still permits then Kensington Palace / Gardens and / or Churchill’s War Room
* the bridges and Hyde Park are not a stop just a ride through / over or a viewing
Day 2
Windsor Castle
Possibly another Castle or 2 and / or other country landmarks outside London City proper
The idea is to get a flavour for the English countryside
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Firstly, the hotel you have chosen is in the perfect spot in London. We stayed there back in June and it was great. Helpful staff, clean and walking distance to most things. Buckingham Palace is a 10 minute walk. My only complaint with this hotel is that once given your room keys, it's hard to find your room. More stairs and corridors once you get out of the elevator. Secondly, I too have health issues with my back and knee due to surgery. I did not find this a problem in London. We booked a 6 hour private day tour through Viator, and our guide was absolutely fantastic. He went at our pace and took us all the best ways to get to where we wanted with no hassle at all. Some public transport was used but that made it easy. Buses and trains in London are quick and run every couple of minutes. I quite enjoyed the whole day. Perhaps you could look at booking two separate private day tours. That way you could do all your choices for London one day and the castles and countryside on another. With private tours, the choice of what you see is totally yours as its just your party and the guide. Our tour was called: "Private Custom Tour: Day Tour of London" If you chose this tour, after submitting payment you will get a link to choose what day, time, how many hours etc. It will also ask you what places you would like to see. You will then get an email directly from them asking you exactly what you want and they will personalise it all for you. I only had one day to see London, so for me, this was the best thing I done. It all worked out perfect. I seen everything I wanted to see and with no issues to my health. They are quite happy to stop if needed etc. You also have the option to go by car if you feel that is the way to go. That will all be discussed with you via email. Hope this helps and enjoy your holiday.

Is the price pre person ,or pre group?

When you go to check the availability you put in the number of people for the tour and the price will be per person, and they will also show the total price. For just one person it was as much as 2 people so it’s like there is a minimum for the tour.
