Cannot Recommend this Tour Highly Enough!
May 2021
We had the most fantastic day with our tour guide Stephen, who was so knowledgeable, not just on the subject matter (Churchill) but on all aspects of London's fascinating history!
We learnt so much and Stephen was unfailingly polite, helpful and responsive to our interests and what we wanted to get from the tour. We were treated to Churchill's favourite places and discovered a few of our own along the way (lunch at St Jacques near St Jame's Palace is not to be missed if you can fit it in!)
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, we genuinely had the most wonderful day, and were so impressed by Stephen, we booked him for another tour a couple of days later!

So Interesting
Apr 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and our guide was Liddell Derry who was excellent. Being history educators, learning more about Churchill and the London experience during WWII was enlightening. What's more, the weather was ideal to walk the areas of Churchill's life in London. Our advice would be to book this tour early and if you don't want the entire tour, definitely get tickets to the War Rooms BEFORE your London visit since the wait line can be long.

A Stirring Day
Dec 2019
Our guide Stephen took us on an amazing walk through London, following in the footsteps of Winston Churchill. The details he was able to provide along with visits to some of Churchill's favorite haunts made the tour and Churchill truly "come alive" for our family. In addition, while walking through the city Stephen provided many interesting insights on the history of London, the Royal Family, James Bond, Harry Potter and the Red Baron - to name a few!

Hi there! Thanks so much for your review. It was lovely to meet everyone. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the tour. The Churchill tour is one of my favourites too and you get to see an area of London that most people never get to see. Thank-you again!

A Nice London Walk
The tour was OK but not what I expected. It was a very nice walk around a London. I enjoyed the iconic Churchill sites and the War Room. However, while our guide was very pleasant I didn’t feel I learned much about Winston Churchill.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the Churchill locations and War Rooms, even though you didn't feel you got as much out of it as others as it wasn't what you were expecting. Thank-you for still taking the time to leave a review.

If I could give Dewey 1 Million Stars I WOULD!
May 2019 • Family
Get ready to WALK. AND WALK AND WALK. Our tour guide, Dewey, was an amazingly entertaining in the British stiff upper lip style with poignancy and deep history knowledge. He is a great story teller and ambassador of the city. And he is UNSTOPPABLE! He walks and walks and walks. You learn so much, and the information ties the city and Churchill in context with a precious little bow. I just wish he had stopped a bit more for water and a quick snack, because its intense. By the time we got to the bunker, we were spent. I fell in love with London because of Dewey and our foodie tour guide Keven the day before. This is worth every penny and spending money on GOOD walking shoes!

Thank you so much for your fantastic review. Yes he is a brilliant guide and we like to think the tour is pretty okay too. I’m sorry you needed an extra stop, we are always looking to improve and we’ve noted that. As quite a bit of the tour is in the political part of London there are far fewer rest stops than elsewhere in the city. I will let Kev know you enjoyed his tour also. Thanks for booking with Ye Olde England Tours

Great walk and tour
May 2019 • Solo
My guide Kevin was knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. Despite the downpour and wind, the three hours or so went by quickly. The little stories he told along the way about the historical origin of names, finding homes of famous people and the location of Churchill's favourite cigar store and pub were among the highlights. A solo or small-group tour like this is a good way to see that part of London.

Thanks so much for your great tour, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your Churchill tour with us. I don’t smoke but always like the aroma in the cigar shop! Yes it is a neat way to see a part of a London that you might not normally visit but then it links up with the big sights at the end. Thankyou for the great review and we’re sorry about the downpour. It doesn’t actually happen very often but we know no-one believes us!

Great tour guide!
Mar 2017 • Friends
My sister and I took a day tour to Chartwell, Winston Churchill's residence. Our guide was a born and raised Londoner named Kevin. His tour was fantastic. He was waiting for us on time and had so much to tell us about his home city, as we drove through the City, out to the country to Chartwell. His knowledge, friendliness and helpfulness made this all day tour fly by, We highly recommend him and plan to use him for future tours, like his Historic Pub Tour.
