Wine Tasting in the English Countryside
We did a private wine tour with English Wine Tours. This is our second tour with them. I can confirm they are consistently exceptional from planning to end of the tour. Nicola listened to what I was looking for in preferred wine tastes and provided wineries that catered to those needs. Their relationships with wineries are fantastic so we tasted some exceptional wines. In two of the wineries we actually met the wine master/owner so we could get first-hand knowledge. We also tasted grapes not commonly found (my request). Brian was our tour guide both times tasting (the second time we specifically requested him). He is extremely knowledgeable about wines, English history in the countryside we were visiting and funny! He was punctual at the train station we met him and kept us on the timetable, but not rushing us at all. My tips: tasting wines in English tasting rooms is a different experience than what you would experience in the States as it is more laid back. We went during the off-season (winter) and I would encourage doing so at that time for crowd control, although I don't think it would get crazy like crush season in Napa. We had a great time! Worth leaving London and experiencing their train system, a great value and is one of my favorite things to do when visiting England.

Personal wine tour created by English Wine Tasting Tours
This is the second time we've used Nicola and it was awesome again. It was only myself and my wife and we had Brian again as our tour guide. We first found Nicola in November 2022 and the experience was terrific which drew us back a second time which made for an even more memorable experience. Again, we asked for Brian to be our private guide and it couldn't have been better. We visited three vineyards that were picked specifically for us. Nicola found out what we wanted and made it happen. She provided options for lunch, for example, have lunch at a restaurant or a charcuterie at a winery. We chose the winery charcuterie which was wise since it gave us more time to speak with the owner. I'm sure we will be back to England at which point we will definitely engage English Wine Tasting Tours. You can't go wrong. Cheers!

      Perfect day out!
We had a perfect day out with English Wine Tasting Tours! Our guide, Brian, was fantastic—his deep knowledge of English winemaking and its history made the experience truly special. We visited three beautiful, lesser-known vineyards—Sedlescombe, Wayfarer, and Woodchurch—each offering unique wines we likely wouldn’t have found on our own. The whole day was relaxed, informative, and so much fun. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the gems of English wine country!

      Very good English wine tour!
The tour was very well organised, with a driver meeting us at the station, alongside our tour guide Justin. We visited 3 vineyards which was excellent value, with no less than 14 wines and a lovely picnic style packed lunch. We returned by 6.30-7pm, so a full day out!

A fabulous tour of some of England’s amazing vineyards
We arranged a small private tour to three English vineyards. Brian the tour guide was great; very informative and certainly added value to the information provided by the individual vineyards. This is such a great way to visit some of the many vineyards in England. The smaller vineyards are certainly worth the trip, so much so, that’s where our group actually bought wine to take home. Don’t bother with the big named vineyards! I would certainly use this company again. A great day out.

      A Great day out!!
My partner and I had an amazing day with English Wine tasting tours. Our guide Brian was the loveliest man who really looked after us and was full of knowledge about the history of wine that he shared with us on the coach journey. We went to three beautiful vineyards where we tried various different wines and learned about the processes in which they make them. Lunch was at a local pub, I thought we were going to be having lunch at one of the vineyards which would have been a nicer setting but it was lovely all the same. We had a great group of people with us on the tour and having got on so well we all ended up going for drinks in London after being dropped off which was a great end to the day. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends. I might even re-book with a large group of us as it's a great day out.

      Amazing private wine tour
I booked the small group private wine tour to celebrate my 30th birthday and had such a brilliant experience. Nicola handled the booking process for me and was so helpful and responsive throughout. On the day of the tour we arrived on the train from London and Justin was waiting for us right by the station entrance, ready to whisk us off in the very comfy minibus. There were English Wine Tour goody bags on our seats which was such a lovely touch. Justin was a brilliant tour guide - so friendly and happy to answer all our questions, he kept us entertained on the drives between wineries which took us through the beautiful Kent countryside. We visited 3 wineries throughout the day - Sedlescombe, Wayfarer and Woodchurch and we absolutely loved all of them. They were all hidden gems that we would never have found on our own and the guided tastings with the owners/staff were really fun and informative. We got lucky with the weather and were able to do our tasting outside amongst the vines at Wayfarer - sipping amazing wine in the sunshine with gorgeous views, I can't imagine a better way to spend a birthday. The cherry on top was a delicious pub lunch stop in the middle of the day which helped soak up all the lovely wine. I can't recommend this tour enough - everything was so thoughtfully planned and taken care of, I was able to just sit back and have an incredible day with my friends (who all said how much they loved it as well). Thanks so much! We'll definitely be back

What an absolutely fantastic day from start to finish! Nicola collected us from home and drove us to 3 incredible vineyards where we met the very passionate producers and sampled their fabulous sparkling and still wines. Included in the day was a delicious pub lunch and we can honestly say they were the best cheeseburgers we've had for a long time! Feeling very merry and with a boot full of English wines, Nicola dropped us home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company, their tours and of course English wines. You won't be disappointed ;)

      Great Day, Wonderful wines,
The whole trip was very interesting and our tour guide Justin very welcoming and knowledgeable. We visited 3 vineyards in total the second one was my least favourite as we could not even see the vineyard and the lady giving the talk wasn't as animated as the other two. I would have liked more time at the third vineyard the sun had come out then and it had a balcony that had glorious views of the vineyard while enjoying the wine. I think less time at the first stop would have been better and more time at the third stop Woodchurch. Lunch at the pub was lovely with a glass of Chapel down. All in all I would recommend this wine tasting tour with some adjustments on the level of time at different vineyards.

      Well worth a visit
Visited Chapel Down for a wine tour and tasting, which was given to us as a present. A warm welcome from the staff on reception before we were introduced to Russell our tour guide and wine expert. Whilst the weather, which was excellent, certainly helped, the Vineyard is beautifully set out, well stocked shop, nice outdoor seating and dining area, restuarant (we didn't visit) and extensive grounds. Russell showed us around the vineyard, which featured a detailed review of the various vines on the site, a trip to all the wine preparation rooms and the wine tasting room. We were given the opportunity to taste 5 wines, which incuded sparkling wines. Russell, clearly knew his wines and delivered a enjoyable and light-hearted review, which seemed to be enjoyed by all. The two hour trip passed very quicky and was throughly enjoyable. I would say that a video in the pressinfg room to show how the wine is actually pressed would be a interesting addition and would bring the process to life, certainly not a negative but would help the guests understnd the journey of wine making. Well worth a visit, leave the car at home on a sunny day and enjoy the grounds with a couple of glasses after the tasting.

Fabulous English wine tasting tour hen doo
I was trying to organise a wine tour for 14 people for my friend's hen doo. I was struggling to work out how to get us all from London to a rural vineyard, on to another, and back to London. Then a friend recommended English Wine Tasting Tours. I contacted Nicola and it all became 100% easier. She arranged everything for our private, 3 vineyard tour (including lunch). I just had to tell the group what was happening, collect and transfer their payments, then focus on fun. Our guide, Brian knew lots about wine and wine making, and the 3 vineyards we visited were all different and gorgeous. We all had such a great day! Thank you Nicola, Brian & Antonio (our driver).

Great day for my Mums 60th!
Nicola was so lovely and organised getting on touch with us beforehand to coordinate the day. The vineyards we visited were so different and a great variety. Lunch was delicious. Nicola and the tour guides at the wine tasting sessions had great knowledge!

One of best wine tour experiences
We took a private wine tasting tour at Sussex for a day within our friends. Our tour guide, Joshua, was really interested about our experiences. He told about the both historical and popular information of the region. He took care of us for the whole tour. In addition to 3 wineries, we also had chance to visit 2 historical places nearby. Definitely could recommend to everyone who wants to experience some English Wineries!

Excellent two day private wine tour
We did a two day private wine tour and both days were great. They work with a large range of wineries which allowed us and Nicola to work together to tailor make the itinerary to suit our wishes. Brian, our guide, was very knowledgeable and informative and gave us a lot of additional insight into lesser known English wine history. We really enjoyed the time spent travelling between wineries. If we return for another wine tour in this area we definitely wouldn't hesitate to book with English Wine Tasting Tours again!

We went as a group of 4 for a milestone birthday. We all thought it was so brilliant. It was a rainy day but that made no difference to the enjoyment. We were picked up in Central London, taken to 2 vineyards, a lovely pub and then a farm. We tasted delicious wine, sumptuous cheese and learnt loads all with no hard sell.

The day pivoted to an indoor venue with ease and it did nothing to take away from the fun.
I would highly recommend this for an absolute stress free, fun day out that is amazing value for money

Many thanks Justin and Nicola for a really enjoyable day. Justin provided lots of interesting information on the journey and the two tastings provided great opportunities to try some excellent wines we had not previously encountered. We found the cheese and wine pairing session very good, learning lots about both the wines and the cheeses and have found some new favourites in both! Would thoroughly recommend this tour, learned lots and had good fun too.

This was a wonderful way to spend the day. Brian was a fantastic tour guide. His knowledge of viticulture & the history of wine production was astounding. He was warm, friendly, funny & really interesting. We tried lots of different wines at Sedlescombe organic vineyard, some of which I would not have chosen (but very much enjoyed), and Sharon was clearly passionate about organic and biodynamic wine making. She was engaging & fun. Brian imparted his knowledge about Chapel Down wines & we supped under the shelter of a tent as the rain tried to spoil it!
The light lunch at Silcocks farm shop was delicious, and Nicola & Justin made the cheese & wine pairing afternoon really interesting & fun. We worked out that we tried 17 different wines over the course of the day, and were suitably fluffy-headed & cheese-drunk by the end of the day. Thank you to English Wine Tasting & Tours. We will be back

We booked a private vineyards tour for a group of friends with English Wine Tasting Tours

We visited Sedlescombe Organic, Chapel Down, and Woodchurch Estate and had lunch at The William Caxton. The day went from 10am-5pm. We tried 4-6 wines at each place and had a great pub lunch too.

Justin led the tour and was awesome - tonnes of knowledge and super friendly. We also met Nicola his wife who runs the business. They were super flexible throughout the booking process and the tour and even helped to retrieve a lost phone from the train on the day (thank you!)

Will definitely book more tours with this great company in the future

My tour was a present from my wife and what an excellent present it turned out to be.
There were 9 of us in the group and a good time was had by all. Visited Chapel Down and Wayfarer vineyards in Kent.
Nicola's advice was to have a 'hearty' breakfast. Good call, we sampled 12 wines before lunch!

A pub lunch, food was excellent, served with a fine glass of Rosé

We finished the afternoon with a cheese tasting experience with a further 6 glasses of wine.

Our hosts, Nicola and Justin were informative and entertaining.

I thouroughly recommend English Wine Tasting Tours

On the way to the vineyards, Justin provided us with comprehensive background knowledge on the birth and progression of English wines. There was plenty of opportunity to try the different sparkling and white wines and the wine and cheese paring at the end of the afternoon was perfect!

Hi Jon, Thank you for the excellent review. It was a pleasure to meet your family and to explore English wine with you. Chapel Down is always good to visit because of their large range. Woodchurch is a small producer and it's more personal when the producer does the tasting. I hope you found a golf course this morning and I'm definitely going to start working with Buxted Park Hotel more often. Would be great to see you guys again so keep us in mind when you're down this direction from Suffolk.

After having done just the wine tour by itself a couple of years ago, came back with a group to do the wine and cheese tour.

Justin was a great tour leader - very personable and knowledgeable. The chosen winery - Chapel Down - is well worth a visit. We were looked after really well by Justin and Nicola throughout the day and got to taste some lovely English wines - mostly sparkling.

The second stop of wine and cheese pairing was set in a great little function room overlooking a vineyard. The pairings were well put together to give a treat to the taste buds.

Highly recommended tour, with great hosts and an enjoyable experience.
