Sensational tour through London's East End, and some amazing art.

Gary was an incredibly knowledgeable, personable and informative guide. He clearly has a deep and abiding love for his neighbourhood, and that shines through in his delivery of the tour.

Even with a large group (I was delighted to hear, his largest group since you know what), he took the time to get to know everyone, and engage with everyone individually throughout the tour.

Gary is very much across his brief, having an understanding both of the social construct of street art, and a deep knowledge of the technical aspects of how the pieces are constructed. He even has personal relationships with many of the scene's most prolific and well known artists.

My kids had a wonderful time on their tour, and the workshop afterwards was great fun. I am recommending this tour to everyone I know that's heading to London in the future.

This was a really fun experience. Josh is a great communicator - we found ourselves sharing his enthusiasm and absorbing his knowledge, and were surprised and sad when the walk was over. Now our eyes are very much more open to what we see on surfaces around us. The workshop was incredibly well organised - everyone had a real chance to enjoy the spray paints and be creative. We left on a high and would do it again in a heartbeat. (I took two ten year olds and it was perfect for them, as well as for adults.)

This was absolutely brilliant!! Our guide Josh was so knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the whole thing. We saw some brilliant street art and the workshop afterwards was a brilliant way to test out what we had been talking about. I would recommend this to everyone.

Thank you Alt London.

We had a great week. But the tour Josh gave us was absolutely amazing. He did not just explain everything about all forms of street art in Shoreditch and the artists behind it, he also told us about the social and economical history that defined this place as a hot spot, dating all the way back to the Huguenots and the departure of the industry in Shoreditch.
And what gave this tour an extra above all others (especially for my daughters of 9 and 11) was the workshop, in which we learnt (a bit) too handle the spray paint can ourselves

The tour is excellent. How can we miss so much when walking along streets. Knowledgeable guide who introduced us to new artists, techniques and places. The workshop at the end of the tour cemented what we had seen and gave us a chance to try it out for ourselves. Lovely for couples and families with children over 10 years old.

My wife booked this tour as part of an anniversary mini-break in London & I have to admit I was a bit dubious when I first saw it given we were also going to a West-End show & a tour of parliament. Fear not, this tour equalled the other experiences! I will walk around London with a completely different perspective after going on the tour. From the pavements to the roofs there is street art that you would never imagine and all with a story. Emilie, our tour guide, was passionate & knowledgeable about London street art and knew many of the artists & had even helped assemble one display. The walking tour lasts 90 minutes at is done at a relatively relaxed pace with lots of opportunities to stop & hear the story behind the art and artists. Additionally it was a great opportunity to see parts of London that you normally may not visit and indeed I would definitely return to the Eastend to explore more. After the walking tour finished we had 30 minutes to grab a quick lunch after which we returned to the studio. Emilie instructed us on how we should create our own street art & then equipped with pencils & Stanley-knives we began. I am as artistic as a boiled egg but after the design and then experimenting with spray cans we did our final design & I was really happy. It was a great experience but as we started to walk back to the car park I wondered whether doing a design of the Liverbird for my tote bag was such a good idea to carry in East London 🤔

We took the tour whilst on a weekend in London. Gary was our guide and we really enjoyed all he had to show and share with us. He was very knowledgeable about street art and was happy to answer all our questions and share in his knowledge of the east end. I would really recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in street culture. It was 2 hours and we visited some great parts of the east end, which enabled us afterwards to see other parts which we had passed along the way.

Had the most fun and eye opening day with our fantastic guide, Emilie, through the streets of East London. We discovered real gems of street art, including sculptures, paintings and stickers, I’d walked past and never really seen before. I learnt so much and will never take everyday spray art for granted again.

The workshop was brilliant and we all went home with souvenirs of the techniques we’d learned. A really unique experience.

What a great insight to street art! Josh was very passionate about the subject and showed us amazing pieces! We got to see some places we would have never found on our own; It was quite an eventful afternoon and our whole group left with nothing but good things to say! Thank you for this unique experience!
