- N4001SXrobynb0 contributionsScamIncredibly annoyed and overall angry. Waited outside the meeting point for 30 mins with no show from the tour guide. No phone number on the website to contact them. Pretty sure I just got scammed.Written 19 July 2024
- 807caitlinj0 contributionsNot quite Sweeney ToddJenny was a great host and very knowledgeable. She took us around the surrounding areas of Fleet Street. Her passion for the subject shone through. However, although elements of the tour were about Sweeney Todd, the majority of the walk consisted of history of the Medieval Knights Templar. Suggestions would be to mention this before people book, OR change the name of the tour to “History of North London Inc. The Legend Of Sweeney Todd” etc.Written 13 July 2024

Gave us really interesting information about the area, photos, incredible details. With the headphones we get deeply immersed in the story and while we walk we are always connected so don’t miss any information. I loved this tour! - E5117QNleahh0 contributionsNot exactly accurate or gangster focused but funI was a little confused as to why some parts of the ‘gangster tour of soho’ focused on 70s pop stars rather than gangsters as well as spending the first 10 minutes talking about the London Palladium. Some of the facts that were mentioned and some of the photos were not accurate. That said it was a fun 2 hours and the tour guide was a nice lady. It just felt a little bit thrown together and inaccurate. Not exactly as it was described.Written 21 January 2024
- CazzieS_130 contributionsInteresting Walk Needed More Sweeney Though!I did the Sweeney Todd walk. There was actually very little about Sweeney Todd. Lots of other subjects brought in - Jack The Ripper, The Knights Templar, Dr. Johnson etc. The locations were lovely and unusual and it was overall enjoyable. The guide was a little scatty though but full of knowledge, even if a little haphazard!Written 25 November 2023

Serena was absolutely amazing! Her tour was the perfect mix of informative and engaging—even when covering such dark and tragic events. Through the chilling tale of Jack the Ripper and his victims, we also uncovered fascinating historical insights about London. The 2.5 hours flew by, and not once did we feel bored, despite the biting cold in London’s streets. Serena’s passion and storytelling kept us captivated from start to finish!

A friend and I had a great tour with Ripperologist, Jenny, last night and she was perfectly dressed for the era in her Victorian attire. Despite the rains of biblical proportions, Jenny did a fantastic job of keeping the group's attention whilst trying to shelter us from the rain. Her knowledge was astonishing and we really liked the theories about who JTR could've been, that's up for you to decide but Jenny gives a good background into what kind of character could be capable of such monstrosities.
It was hard to hear at times but that was due to the rain and a noisy Friday night in the East End of London. The tour was 2.5 hours long which might be a struggle for those with mobility issues and standing and I have to say I was frozen to the bone, so dress for the weather and bring an umbrella, you can't predict the British weather! I think Jenny did a remarkable job and she actually said she'd never seen rain like it, and 24 hours later we are still trying to dry out. I hope her ipad survived.
It was a shame to see how many London buildings have been lost, being either replaced with totally new characterless buildings and some streets totally lost altogether even until fairly recently 2012 pulling streets down. It was nice to get directions back to Liverpool St station too, as you don't end up where you start and for some people London can be a disorientating place.

Thank you so much for this great review especially as it was an extremely difficult night with the torrential rain I am so glad everyone stuck it out to the end!
I also have taken two days to dry out but fortunately my tablet was none the worse for wear just not scrolling properly due to the screen being soaked.

I recently read Patricia Cornwell’s book about Jack the Ripper, which inspired me to take a tour guided by Serena. The experience was exceptional! Serena was incredibly informative and captivating, weaving the chilling story of Jack the Ripper seamlessly with London’s rich history. Her storytelling brought the city’s past to life, making the entire tour both engaging and memorable. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to Serena—highly recommended!

Great tour with Lindsay. Really knowledgeable and explained all the details really well. She made it very interesting and was really good at answering questions and making sure that we understood. Brilliant tour round the murder sites and other areas. Would definitely recommend and do another of their tours.

On Saturday night, myself and my partner and his family joined Jenny for a tour. There were six of us and 3 others and it was a perfect group size that we could all hear and see very clearly. Upon arrival Jenny suggested altering the route to make it not as far to walk due to the bitterly cold weather, as this was our first walking tour we were more than happy to accept her suggestion, figuring that with 30 years experience she would know best - she did, it was super chilly and the alteration did not impact our experience at all.
Jenny was very charismatic in her telling of the story and setting the scene for the walk, she uses pictures on a tablet to help you envision what times were like and I really found myself thinking about how the Victorians lived. Jenny’s knowledge of not just Jack the Ripper but also of life in the Victorian era and of London’s East End was truly phenomenal. Our family have watched between us probably hundreds of hours of ripper videos/ documentaries so we had plenty of questions and Jenny was never stumped for an answer!
For our first ever walking tour this was amazing! Jenny made the experience fabulous and we all are now wanting to do more walking tours - we are thinking of coming back when its warmer next spring. I couldn't recommend Jenny highly enough.

Jenny, our guide was absolutely amazing. She knew so much about the Jack the ripper history, including many things that had very newly been found out and released. She made the walk fun and informative and was such a friendly person. You could tell she not only was interested in the history of this subject but also was very passionate about all aspects. You could see she was not only passionate about the history but she really cared about the victims. For some of the women she had worked and talked with their families and made it possible that they could have proper graves and memorials. This fact nearly made me cry as it shows its not just for the story or the history for Jenny but also because she truly cares about these women and the victims of these awful brutal killings. Jenny also explained she had helped a family of one of the wrongly accused to show his innocence. I have been on a jack the ripper walk before but it hadnt given as much information and facts as jenny did, particlarly a more in detail look at who jack the ripper could be and the suspected individuals that have been named over the years. This was such a fun evening that I would do again and again, and 2 hours flew by. Thank you so much.

We had a great experience on this tour. When arrived we were greeted by the most fabulous guide, dressed to impress. We were then handed headsets to help guide us through our experience, listening to recordings, music and conversation to help really add to every moment of the story. The headphones are also great idea, we loved our the helped drown out any of the London hussle and bussle so we could hear every word from our guide, unlike some tours where you struggle to hear someone shouting and ruins the discovery. Our guide was SO knowledgable of every part of the story behind Jack, adding her own flare, opinions & facts which really added to the passion behind the tour experience. It was so well organised and the tour really lest you explore the dark alleys of London in the time period. A absolutely fabulous evening, we learnt so much, had fun….& even won a little prize. A must do Jack tour.

I did this Ripper tour with my two teenage sons. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Really good guide, small group, lots of time for questions. We saw some other tours with way too many people on them that made us think we were lucky. I mean, why keep taking more and more bookings for a tour to the point that you aren't going to hear your guide you will be so far back. She had a full size tablet too to show images on (maybe a 14 " screen) and that was good

Jenny was a great guide- and really knew her stuff! I appreciated her logic, and personal research into the topic that really informed the talk- particularly concluding on more up to date research on who Jack the Ripper might have been. Really engaging and interesting talk. Walk was manageable and you could tell it was interesting as we were out for 2.5 hours and it flew by! Would recommend to anyone with an interest in Jack the Ripper or even the history of East London.

We foolishly arrived in London early to "mooch around". In hindsight that was a mistake. We arrived footsore and weary at the start of the Tour. However the tour was so good, that just didn't matter. Jenny obviously knows her subject backwards, often reciting whole letters / documents by heart. She obviously loves her subject, and was simply excellent at sharing and creating that enthusiasm in her listeners. I might just do the walk again sometime, even though I know most of it now.
