One of the best walks I’ve been on
Richard was AMAZING. The walk itself is incredibly interesting and you really feel like you’re stepping back in time. Richard’s charisma and detailed knowledge of his craft, makes this a must do activity 10/10.

Informative and a LOT of fun
Informative and highly amusing tour with Philip (one L and one P at the end!) tonight. Great tour guide with extensive knowledge and engaging throughout. Highly recommend.

    Excellent!
It had been on my bucket list for quite some time to do a Jack the Ripper walking tour, but this one turned out not to be a JTR walking tour, but to be THE JTR walking tour. Our guide Angie did a wonderful job taking us back to 1888 with her excellent storytelling skills and really knew how to bring it all to life (or death, whatever way you want to look at it!). I knew a bit about the case beforehand but now, thanks to Angie's enthusiasm and knowledge, I know so much more and I've already started reading the brilliant book which I was able to download having been on the tour. Don't miss this tour.

    Great tour, absolutely worth it
We took a tour as a group of 8 and didn't really know what to expect from this. We got Philip (one l) as our guide and I feel like we got one of the best. He had an incredible depth of knowledge on the subject and clearly had done his homework. I wasn't sure how the information would be handled, this being a potentially triggering/serious topic. But I thought Philip did a great job of balancing educational and entertaining. The 2 hours flew by, absolutely worth taking the time!

Jack the Ripper Tour with Angie
I went on the Jack the Ripper tour with Angie as my tour guide. She was absolutely incredible and I knew right away that if I ever come back to London for a holiday I would want to go to more tours that she does! She is an amazing tour guide and I stayed after the tour to ask questions and talk about theory’s and even other unsolved murders and true crimes. I would recommend to my friends, family, and even other people who talk about going on a tour like this to try and go with Angie as the tour guide. She knew her stuff very very well!

A Grisly Tour with An Amazing Tour Guide
Philip with one L was a fantastic tour guide. His knowledge surpassed my expectations, & he somehow wmanaged to be both entertaining & hughky respectful to the seriousness of the subject better. This was more than just a tour for cheap thrills. Philip really took you on a journey into the heart of the mystery-the experience of the victims.

    Ask for Jeremy!
By far this is a must-do when you visit London, and I wouldn’t tour with any other company! We had Jeremy as our guide, and he was not only extremely educated on the subject, but had the perfect mix of compassion for the unfortunate victims, relatability, and humor the entire time. Our two hours flew by as we were immersed in his storytelling, and we didn’t even mind when it started to drizzle (don’t forget to bring your raincoat just in case!). We joined him at a local pub afterwards, and picked his brain a bit more about the unsolved murders over a pint. We left feeling even more of a connection to Whitechapel, and a further understanding of what life was like in the late 1800s in London. We had an awesome time, and when friends and family ask me what my highlights of our week long trip were- Jeremy’s tour is top of mind!

So good we did the same tour TWICE!
My 14-year-old son and I spent an incredible week in London and as we are both Ripper students and aficionados, we made sure to book a couple of Ripper walks. The first one we did, - with a competitor - was just okay. The guide was adequate, but she kept trying to put a "woke" spin on the murders. A few nights later, we had the extreme pleasure to book with Richard Jones' tour. Our guide, the incredibly knowledgeable and hilarious Philip Hutchinson, really made the case come alive for us. He was very personable, and his knowledge of the case is encyclopedic. He was also generous with his time and sincerely liked my theory on an aspect of the case! My son loved it and we booked another tour later on in the week. Our guide for the SECOND tour was John, and he was also an excellent guide. Thanks to Discovery Tours for making these Ripper walks a highlight of our time in London! Cannot recommend enough!!

    10/10 would recommend!
We took Jeremy’s Jack the Ripper tour and it was fantastic! I was already familiar with the ripper details, but Jeremy’s story telling was so detailed and thorough…he was authentic, genuine and so knowledgeable. He clearly cares about his work and I learned SOOOO much about the history of White Chapel. He is proud of the community he’s from and it shows! I would recommend him to anyone I know traveling to London in search of an amazing tour with a very funny (love the dry British humor) guide.

    Jack the Ripper Tour
Our family party of 8 people took this tour last Saturday 27.4.24 - the weather was atrocious, cold wind and persistent rain. However, Angie our tour guide was so fantastic we soon forgot the discomfort and enjoyed the tour immensely. Angie is an exceptional guide, very knowledgeable and informative. She was very approachable and friendly and took great care of us, ensuring that everyone could hear her and see the photographs she had. She also had a good sense of humour but this didn't in any way detract from the horror that unfolded in Whitechapel in 1888. We all agreed that this was the best tour we have been on and that Angie is the most fantastic guide we have ever had, well done.

Jeremy was our tour guide and his enthusiasm & knowledge is what made this tour engaging and interesting. The tour from start to finish was just brilliant and I would highly recommend for anyone to give it a go. Lots of different theories were suggested to think about to help you make up your own mind as to what might have happened. Jeremy made sure that everyone kept up and ensured that everyone could hear what was said and pictures could be seen. Questions were asked of the group as to their thoughts on things. All together a brilliant time was had by all.

Hello Lisa Thank you for your feedback and we are super pleased to hear that you found your tour brilliant from start to finish and that your guide , Jeremy, was engaging , knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The Jack the Ripper case has so many facts and theories and the guides love to hear people's thoughts on the history and suspects and always welcome questions. Thank you also for your thoughts on the pace of the group and the fact that Jeremy checked everyone could see and hear him- it helps everyone to decide if the tour would suit them. Thank you for your recommendation. Many thanks and best wishes Richard

This was definitely worth booking. The actual locations/buildings aren’t really there anymore, but it’s less about seeing the buildings than it is learning about what happened. Philip was great and made it a great time, but was also very detailed about the history, remembering the victims, and what actually happened vs how it’s portrayed in movies and TV.

Did this tour recently and it totally exceeded my expectations. Our guide was Angie—she was brilliant. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and handled a difficult subject really skilfully.
She painted a vivid picture of life in Whitechapel at that time and I’m still thinking about it 2 days later!

A massive thankyou to our tour guide Jeremy he clearly loves his job and sharing all his knowledge about Whitechapel and Jack the Ripper . Very animated and enthusiastic and even when he was up against helicopters bin lorries fire engines trying to drown him out he kept calm and carried on . Would highly recommend this tour it’s quite fast walking pace in between locations but this is because there is a lot to see within the time . Jeremy made this so interesting putting his own twists on the tour and having audience participation. Would highly recommend this tour and I am now looking at further reading recommended by Jeremy thankyou once again

After we booked a citytrip to London (from Belgium) we were looking for some interesting and learnfull things to do as a family while staying in London. We searched on the internet and found 'The Jack The Ripper Walking Tour'. English is not out native language but we could understand it very good. On the evening of 2022, April 8th we walked and listened to Angie. She tells you about the history of Jack The Ripper and the White Chapel East Side of London year 1888 with so much love and passion. I hope she find her time machine she was telling about :) I highly recommend this to anybody who's visiting London and loves history and dark stories.

Angie is an outstanding tour guide - articulate, engaging, and extremely well read. The story Angie tells isn't sensationalised at all, and it's a perfect blend of history and geography. Angie is particularly skilled at putting the focus on the people involved, reminding you that these were real people and not characters in a story, rather than just focusing on the events that occurred.

Angie's tour is also complimented by photos and an e-book that's delivered to your phone as you're on the tour. 12 quid for all of this is excellent value, particularly for London, and would strongly recommend this tour to anyone with even a passing interest in JtR or history in general. Thanks again Angie, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you for your comments and we are very pleased to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your tour with Angie. Its very important to us that the history is not glamourised and that participants in the case are treated sympathetically thus we are pleased that this is evident on the tour. Its great to hear that you found Angie an outstanding guide, our guides really do appreciate hearing back. We are also pleased to hear that you appreciated the ebook and that you feel the tour is excellent value for money. We do feel the tour has something to interest everyone - history, mystery, wonderful architecture. Thank you for your recommendation. Best wishes Richard

We had the best tour with Angie, I had a good tipper knowledge but my daughter in law was newer to the detail. We both found it fascinating, absorbing and informative. Angie had great empathy for the victims which came across, the gory gruesome details were theatrically delivered and Angie enthusiasm for her subject evident. To walk the streets of Whitechapel knowing you are following in the tragic victims wake is atmospheric and spooky as we changed from day to night, I would definitely recommend this tour.

We did a virtual tour with author and tour guide Richard Jones through Jack the Ripper's East End. Richard is an expert on the case (check out his documentary "Unmasking Jack the Ripper") and a tour guide with almost 40 years of experience. So even when it was done virtually, the tour was excellent. Not only was Richard able to take us back to the streets of Whitechapel and Spitalfields, he also did a great job in using film and photos from back then and the present and stepped into the scene himself a few times. Also, we were all given a free copy of his ebook "The London of Jack the Ripper", which is a great read. So, no matter if real or virtual, Richard Jones' Jack the Ripper Tour is truly a Walk Worth Investigating!

Dear Phil Thank you for your review Its great to hear that you enjoyed your virtual tour. The virtual medium allows us to 'visit' all murder sites chronologically and also to show that area as it was during the autumn of terror and as it is today. I also particularly enjoy the question and answer section after the tour discussing the case . Thanks for the recommendation Best wishes Richard

This was a fantastic walking tour! I attended with my 4 teenagers/young adults and we all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Our host Jeremy was engaging and professional throughout, he managed to find a perfect balance between humour and genuine compassion for the unfortunate victims. I would recommend the tour to anyone and everyone with an interest in the history of the Whitechapel area and obviously “Jack the Ripper”! Thank you so much Jeremy
