Winner of first prize for Best Free Activities and Best for Learning categories at the 2018 Hoop Awards, the museum boasts around 70 million exhibits across its five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, paleontology and zoology. One of the most popular sections of museum, especially with kids, is the Dinosaur Gallery, and the jewel in its crown, a Tyrannosaurus Rex which is between 122 and 129 million years old, is one of the most important dinosaur skeletons ever discovered. Other items not to be missed (and which your guide will make sure you don't miss) include the Marine Reptile Fossils, the Jurassic sea crocodiles, a breathtaking 25.2-metre-long blue whale skeleton, a giant sequoia tree and a fantastic range of stuffed birds. - G7616YPkayk0 contributionsBrilliant tour, brilliant guide!Yesterday (1st October 2023) I joined my family for the Kids Tour of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Both locations were superbly brought to life by our guide Lucy, who I cannot praise highly enough. She managed effortlessly to keep our party of 9 enthralled throughout the 4 hour tour, no mean feat given the group's age range from 6 to 77! The Tower, the ravens, the pass-word ceremony and the Crown Jewels were highlights, as well as being lucky enough to be on the glass walkway when Tower Bridge opened... not just once but twice! Highly, highly recommended. Thank you Lucy!Written 2 October 2023
- TTC860 contributionsFun and informative tour for the whole familyMe and my son (age 11) visited the National Gallery with Roberta and in the short span of just under 3 hours, she has given us a concise history of visual arts from the Medieval period through to the impressionist. Roberta was not only highly knowledgeable in the field of visual arts, she is also an actress, and therefore her commentary on the paintings are not merely reciting of facts, but almost re-enactment of the stories behind, they are most engaging, and memorable, and also very easy follow and understand for arts novices such as ourself. It is however, not all trivia, Roberta was able to explain the use of techniques, allegories, symbolism and many other ‘hidden’ messages in the paintings with simple but effective languages. The tour whisk by in no time, and f given the chance, we shall certainly take it again so that we could ask Roberta to share her insights on other great works in the Gallery.Written 2 March 2020
- FBPAL790 contributionsA memorable experience for all the family! We really enjoyed the tour of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. I have been to those attractions before and this year I decided to go with my family. We opted for a private tour because we wanted to get the most out of this experience, especially for our kids (8 and 11). It makes such a big difference having a guide that selects and shows you all the most important places and at the same time keeps the kids captivated. Dan, our guide, did an amazing job, making sure the kids were entertained while giving the whole family a fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable experience.Written 15 February 2020

- ILikeThisOne0 contributionsA really kid's friendly tourWe recently booked a 'Best of London' tour for families with London Tours For Kids and Families. The booking process was very easy and we even got to agree on some itinerary adjustments, so that we could accommodate some specific places (and some special kids' requirements) into the tour. We were lucky enough to have Dan assigned as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and incredibly fun! We visited the 'most wanted' places and we also learnt very interesting stories and fun facts about London. This tour was not only a great introduction to the city and its history, but it was also the best way to cover the two main neighborhoods (Westminster and City, including the changing of the Guard), in one single morning. We are very happy to have done it and we highly recommend it!Written 18 September 2019
- Daniela L0 contributionsLONDON OF TOWERAmazing experience! No one should go to London of Tower without a private tour. Dan was fantastic tour guide (the best we have ever had)! He was great with our 7 year old and he is an amazing story teller. We had private tours all over Europe but this one was the best ever! If you can get DAN, it will be the time of your life. It was the best tour ever! and we can't recommend it enough! Definately worth it! Dan is more than a tour guide! He will make sure you have a memorable experience that will be with you for ever. Our 7 year old still talks about DAN and what a great tour guide he was. My husband and I loved him as without him, the London Tower would have been "just another tour". All we kept on saying was "OMG this was so worth it" If you think about the price, don't think again. For what they offer and the experience, it is beyond worth it!Written 27 August 2019
- Henry L0 contributionsGreat visit to the UK and to the Tower of London!Timothy was great... we loved hearing about the very rich history of the Tower and the Bridge. Although we prepared for our trip (reading up on the varied personalities that lived, died and came through the Tower), hearing the rich explanations and historic backdrop was very interesting. This was a definite highlight of our trip.Written 15 August 2019
- tarahot0 contributionsGreat tour! Our guide Lucy was extremely knowledgeable and wonderful. She tailored the sites and stories to my 12 and 8 yr old daughters, so as to keep them interested also. She got us to each spot in time and knew how and where to avoid lines, that would have surely slowed us down in the limited time we had. Speaking of time, it flew by and we left having learned so many factual and fun stories that we never would have known, but for her. Highly recommend this tour and with Lucy for families with kids between 8-18. Thanks for a great day!Written 9 August 2019
- CATYB19820 contributionsA fantastic experience with our children! This tour was one of the best things we did during our holiday! Everything was really well organised and our guide, Dan, made sure we were kept entertained throughout the visit. Our kids, aged 7 and 10, had a fantastic time. They learnt a lot about British history and had great fun doing it, and they were also completely enthralled by the stories Dan told them. We will not forget this experience in a hurry, and we recommend this tour to anyone visiting London.Written 18 July 2019
- sallyabaza0 contributionsTower of London and Tower Bridge Tour !Fantastic tour with Josephine! I have 3 little ones who enjoyed it very much! I wouldn’t have been able to share all that information with them .. plus she had props to keep the children engaged in the tour ! Thank you !!!Written 15 July 2019
- Chris A0 contributionsFascinating and enlighteningRoberta was knowledgeable, theatrical, engaging and friendly. The museum would be very overwhelming and this was an excellent way to see the highlights but also go deeper into a few key areas to put the objects in their historical context including their path to the museum due to her extensive knowledge base. She made it fun for the kids but equally educational for the adults. Strongly recommendWritten 12 June 2019
- drtoddtravels0 contributionsTour of British MusuemLoved the tour with Roberta. After the tour I checked a site that showed the top 10 items to see at the Museum. We saw 8 of them and I knew more than the writings in the article. She was engaging. She had a parents vs kids competition. We loved it. Would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to learn a lot. I’ve seen the Museum before and learned almost nothing. Thank you!!!!!!Written 25 April 2019
- sunflower_moe0 contributionsCan't wait to go again! This tour was perfect for us to get a glimpse of the highlights at the museum. Tons of people, but Roberta knew exactly where to go to show us the top artifacts. For my 12 year old, the Rosetta Stone was okay, but the mummies!! Amazing! Lots of people to navigate, but Roberta knew where to stand so she could tell us lots of history and explain things, while still close enough to see things. Tweenagers are tough crowds, but Roberta handled it like a champ! Can recommend highly!Written 23 February 2019
- ATLTravelFamily0 contributionsGreat Tour to Introduce Children to the Natural History MuseumOur tour guide, Dan, was engaging to both our 10 year old daughter (who is tough to crack) and me (her late 30s mother). Dan guided us through the museum to show us highlights while giving us the high level overview where needed but able to go into great depth or detail on any questions we had. The pace was perfect --- no time to get bored, but not flying through the museum so fast that you are exhausted. I'm so glad we booked this tour to make the most of the afternoon we had at the museum!Written 19 February 2019
- IheartRickSteves0 contributionsDO THIS TOUR! You'll be glad you did!My son (age 12) and I took a quick trip to London over the MLK holiday weekend, and made the British Museum the main reason for our visit--doing something educational. After having strolled through many museums in the past, normally overwhelmed by the vast array of things, trying to read all the little notes about each item while hoping to not miss the big picture, I've decided that having a tour guide makes a museum FAR more fun and worthwhile! I set up our tour rather last minute, but our guide, Dan, was quick to get in touch and give me the details about where to meet for our scheduled tour. It was clear and easy and Dan's guidance through the enormous British Museum made our trip to London an unforgettable success! Here's what my son had to say about Dan: You can tell he loves his work, he was very knowledgeable and experienced, he packed a lot into our tour and made it memorable, and he told great stories about each artifact. I would add that he always had an answer for the questions we asked, and we covered a lot of ground in our nearly 3 hour tour. It was fast-paced and the time flew by! Highly recommended! Thanks, Dan!Written 25 January 2019

Carol is wonderfully well prepared for the tour. The commentary started, right from the context of which the Museum was founded and also on the characteristics of the Blue terra-cotta used on the architecture. The brief descriptions of the set up of the exhibits were also given which, is extremely helpful for future visits. With 80 millions objects, Carol was able to pick out the most characteristics (not necessarily most ‘famous’) and those of particular interests of my 11 year old to show us in just under 3 hours. There was never a dull moment in the tour, and Carol was extremely patient in answering our questions, and answering them in details. We felt we have seen quite a lot but we were never rushed,. A perfect balance of learning and leisure was combined.
