Perfect for fans of British Rock from the 60s and 70s
This tour is like a dream come true if you love British Roch music. You are going to locations of then popular concert venues like the Saville Theatre, Ronnie Scotts, and the Marquee Club, as well as important studios of the time, like Trident Studios and Regent Sounds Studios. The tour guide also has tons of knowledge and tells a lot of stories about the big artists, including, but not limited to, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Queen. It is worth every bit of money.

    Great day
Had a lovely experience with Richard our tour guide, who gave us the insight into George's upbringing, to the height of his fame. Richards knowledge of not just the tour but of London was phenomenal. He really did go above and beyond on this tour for us. The weather wasn't great but we still had the chance to take photos, and Richard kindly send me some later on in the day. A great bloke. Plenty of opportunity to take photos and also visit the grave of George and his family. A fab day for fans

Spencer was a highlight of our London trip!
I'll tell you one thing: you take this tour not because you're into The Beatles, but to get to enjoy Spencer K Gibbins hypnotizing charisma. Even though we are die-hard fans, The Beatles took a confortable 2nd place as Spencer infuses the tour with his own anecdotes from the good ol' rock and roll days, as he was a part of the London's music scene at the time. The tour sights had been beyond interesting and joyous -I wouldn't have carried myself to Paul's house on my own, and I'm so happy the tour led me there! Spencer's charming storytelling is a treasure on its own. We were lucky to get a signed copy of his book "Some of us didn't make it" too. It's also available on Amazon!

    Rock and roll London.
Excellent tour. We were lucky to get Spencer as our guide, he created the tour and had first hand knowledge of the musical legends and locations. Great stories and history. Definitely reccommend.

    Roll up for the tour
Our guide Jess was right on time and did a great job setting expectations and making sure everyone knew the tour length, stops, that we'd take a bus, etc. He knew his stuff, and his passion for the Beatles was evident! He was very open to conversation and questions, walked at a reasonable pace, and shared many interesting stories about the places we visited. The picture he took of our family crossing at Abbey Road was perfect!

    Beatles London walking tour
We had the pleasure and surprise with our tour guide by the name of Spencer of Me and Them. What an honor to have met and heard his stories such a gentleman. I could have listened to him for hours. My only regret is not being able to purchase his book and autograph. Unfortunately can’t order on Canada Amazon plus no personalized autograph so upset with myself.

Amazing trip through soho/rock n roll history
This tour is amazing! So much history brought to life with the guide. I can’t express how grateful we were to see the sights and hear the backstory behind everything!

    Great
Chris was great! Very knowledgeable about the band and it's members. You see a lot on the tour and see other parts of London as well.

    Choose the right shoes!!
There's a small point to get out of the way here so I'll do that first, then we'll get onto 'the good stuff'! The meeting instructions aren't great! 'Tottenham Court Road Station, Exit 3' - the station exits aren't visibly numbered where we got off our train! If you're going to use a reference like that, use one that is conspicuous and which everyone (from outside London!) will readily see when they're INSIDE the station! We came off the Elizabeth Line which we now know isn't actually in the main station. It would have helped to include that detail too. The Google Street View image which was provided saved us but it took some working out. In 2024, a WhatThreeWords reference would have bene far simpler and would saved some hunting around. Onwards... The weather was kind. Not too bright or hot but certainly not cold and wet. I know this can't be controlled but bear it in mind when booking because bad weather will ruin your experience. Michael - our guide and host - fantastic!! No, really - an absolutely great guy and totally in the right job! Interesting, funny but at the same time, subtly 'aware', observant and did a great job of keeping the group together while remaining superbly informative and entertaining at the same time. The tour is full of surprises! Even for someone who has visited London quite a number of times now, it was amazing to discover how many places - SO significant in British music history - are either just 'tucked away' or even 'hidden in plain sight'! Sometimes all you have to do is look higher than your normal eye line and revelations abound. Fortunately - as mentioned above - Michael is damned good at his job and pointed out a number of things/places where most of us would be familiar with the resultant 'product' but to be standing right next to 'where it happened' puts quite a different context on things. It's an energetic event - make no mistake - hence the title of this review. You'll cover a lot of ground - sometimes quite quickly (mainly to maximise 'talk time' at the next point of interest) so DO consider this and prepare accordingly! As Michael will explain, today's Soho is a VERY different place from that of the early 1960's but the references to those early days remain and for someone of my age and background, it was quite something to stand outside what had been Trident Studios - in the middle of an area where Marc Bolan had 'recruited' Rick Wakeman to play piano on 'Get It On' and the 2I's coffee bar where what was to become The Shadows was formed and where Hank Marvin and Ian Samwell invented the Hand Jive. We even included a brief 'excursion' into the '90's with a gloriously (!) detailed explanation of how the cover of the Oasis album 'What's the Story...' was shot - right where we were standing! If you're a British Music 'anorak', this tour really is for you. Get the right shoes on and go do it!!

Having a good guide makes all the difference.
It was great hearing all of the Beattles stories and seeing the areas where they lived and played. Spencer spent a bit too much time re-living his glory days. There were several times when the group was visibly tired of standing and listening to his tales. I don't think he's a regular guide as he said he was filling in. We ended up leaving the tour early and going to Abbey Road on our own.

    Waste of time
This is probably one of the worst tours I’ve ever gone on. It was boring, uninformative, and a waste of my time and money. Please choose another.

Excellent tour. Aidan was the best guide with lots of knowledge of the punk scene in the 70s and all the music history of the area. We loved it and would 100% recommend

The right tour guide makes all the difference, Spencer is not someone I want to spend 5 minutes with and it was 2 hours
If Spencer is your tour guide then instead of "Rock and Roll walking tour" it should be called "Spencer, my life me,me,me,I,I,I". Within the first 10 minutes he was laughing at how I was dressed in a heavy coat and hat because "he" was warm. He then insulted how we just visited Stonehenge. I explained that we have wanted to see it for many years and we enjoyed ourselves. He wouldn't drop it and again stated that it's "just a pile of rocks". So within the first 10 minutes he insults how I am dressed and laughs at where we chose to stop and visit. It really should be renamed "Spencer, drink you way around Soho". If you take a shot every time he said "I" or "me" you would drunk within an hour. We thought this would be an informational tour and not about all of his "friends" that he knew from the 1970's. When others in the group would try to answer one of his endless questions and got just a small bit wrong he would immediately point out how wrong they were. Spencer did admit that he was filling in for another tour guide that was sick and being on the tour made me sick...of him.

    Private Beatles Tour with Michael
Michael was our private guide for the tour. He went above and beyond by picking us up at our hotel and dropping us there also. During the tour Michael talked to us about the various spots of interest, and showed historical pictures of the Beatles in the same locations. He was a wealth of information, and also doubled as our photographer. That came in really handy as we attempted to duplicate the Abby Road street crossing. Thanks Michael for a great experience.

    Awesome Tour
Aidan has got to be the most authentic and informed London punk guide in the world. His Sex Pistols and Soho 70s/80s music knowledge is remarkable! It's also fun to listen to him explain where the band played shows and how they evolved as well as what the concept of punk means to him. Definitely recommend to any kind of fan!

First of all, Catherine, our tour guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable but unfortunately, there were many times that we couldn't hear what she was saying. There was a lot of walking and no form of communication. If the tour company considered headphones, we could be listening to music while we were walking and/or hear what Catherine was saying.
I enjoyed visiting the places that played a part in the early years of Bowies life, but I was expecting more about his music, fashion etc. I was disappointed that Brixton didn't have more tributes/memorials though.

There are many ways to describe David Bowie. Some would say he is weird and some would admire. But making him boring is a true talent.
A minimum thing in a tour is the guide having a microphone. without this minimum tour device, we hardly could hear her.
Therefore we left the tour early.
One would expect to hear about Bowie's music, or any other parts of his career, and not about the places he donated, or some window he stuck is head out once.

All aspects were interesting. Our tour guide was Jenny and she was very good. It was particularly interesting to see the places in Brixton where the young David lived and the location in London where the Ziggy album cover was photographed.

Very interesting tour. Enjoyed spending time in Brixton and then Soho. Jess, our guide was very informative. Interesting facts. Jess was always respectful the amount of noise around (i.e., stopped when there was a siren) and we could always hear him. We would recommend.

A fantastic couple of hours ..our guide Jenny was absolutely brilliant! She gave us such a lot of info about David , we could hear her perfectly despite some challenging tragic noise and she was so friendly..she was also very careful and considerate in making sure we were all safe along the way , especially at busy underground stations .. thank you so much x
