The tour includes seamless transportation and is fully hosted. Journey through the Sussex countryside on board the vintage bus to the first vineyard, where you'll have a tour of the vines and be shown the winery to hear about English wine production. Court Garden deserve their awards.
We had a great day out. The tours were informative and fun. Court Garden had some beautiful sparkling wines, they were my favourite by far. High Weald Dairy had their famous Brighton blue for you to try, lovely. Roger was a brilliant host. Would recommend the tour to others.

      Perfect Day with Friends
A perfect day with friends celebrating one of our friends special birthdays. The staff were so friendly & helpful & went the extra mile with some extra requests/requirements that we had. Both vineyards were great - interesting & engaging & the picnic hamper lunch was lovely & the wines delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you to all involved.

A great trip for wine and cheese lovers.
A great tour of two English vineyards. Lovely range of wines at the tastings. Both presentations were engaging. Lunch at High Weald dairy was very well presented with another entertaining talk. The tour guide was also very friendly. My only issue was that the lunches had been laid out with meat despite a request for vegetarian.

Bluebell Railway and Sussex Vineyard - excellent day out!
My partner and I did the vintage steam Bluebell railway and Sussex vineyard tour. The red Routemaster bus was great travelling through Sussex and The Downs. The Bluebell railway trip was wonderful - our guides were very knowledgeable - especially Alan from Great British Wine Tours. All so picturesque everywhere! Court Garden vineyard a delight - sampled some tasty English sparkling wines. All in all - a marvellous day out!

      Great day out!
We did this tour as a group of 3 couples. We joined the big red bus in Brighton at 10am and we set off through the Sussex countryside. First stop was Court Gardens in Ditchling. A fairly small vineyard which is family run. Hugo (the son of the owners) gave us a comprehensive, informative and humorous tour of the vineyard. We then tasted several of the wines and were served a lovely picnic style lunch. Although it was middle of August, the weather was not great so we ate inside but it did not detract from the overall experience. Back on the bus and next stop was Artelium Wine Estate in Hassocks. We were put in what I can only describe as a cow shed. We tried several wines and were going to have another glass, but for the exorbitant cost they wanted to charge for a bottle of their entry level cuvee. Style over substance is the phrase that comes to mind. We visited the shop in Artelium, which seemed to double as a cafe. Again, the prices seemed to be surprisingly high for a vineyard that is yet to establish itself. We got back on the bus and were dropped back in Brighton for 4.30pm. Our highlight of the tour was Alan who travelled with us on the bus and took time to answer our many questions about the wines we were tasting. He really was an asset to the tour! Thank you Great British Wine Tours, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would recommend the tour. I would however avoid Artelium if you have a choice.

      Well put together bespoke tour
Danny devised a great bespoke wine tour for us. We are a group of 10 friends, all fairly knowledgeable about wine and its production. Having enjoyed wine tours in France, Spain and Portugal, we felt the time was right to try Sussex. We were not disappointed. Danny was helpful, friendly and insightful throughout. Just a couple of days before our arrival and due to a bout of sunny weather, one of the wineries cancelled because they needed to harvest. A natural hazard. Danny was excellent in finding a more than suitable alternative and we all enjoyed an excellent and very informative day.

Changes to the tour last minute and did not reply to my emails - 0 customer service
I booked an tour for my partner's birthday which was cancelled and ended up choosing another tour, which was the Golf Buggy Safari with African BBQ. On the day of the excursion, an hour before we were informed that we would not be transported in a vintage bus but in a normal van, which I can understand, but they also cancelled the African BBQ for a normal lunch at the excursion site. The food was fine but it took them over an hour to serve it, by then we were already late to the second winery and the guide did nothing to speed up the process, we even waited 20 minutes more at the entrance of the first winery because the driver was nowhere to be seen. When we got to the van they speed up to get to the second winery which ended up with people falling out of their seats and bumping their heads. The following days I contacted them to explain my disappointment with some aspects of the tour and they did not reply to any of my emails. Unfortunately, their poor customer service makes me not recommend them any further. I did another tour with them a few years ago and the experience was great, but they have let us down in many ways.

      DO NOT BOOK
They don’t deserve 1 star but can’t give zero. I booked this tour for a friend’s birthday in August and a few days before the tour I was informed that the tour was cancelled. I was asked if I wanted a refund or alternative date. I asked for a refund. Since my request I have received no refund and despite emailing and leaving a message on the answerphone I have not heard anything. The company owes me £218 which I paid over 2 months ago. I have been ignored and ripped off - and to make it worse they cancelled it not me and ruined my birthday present for my friend.

Great Day Enjoying & Appreciating British Wines 🥂
Went on the tour yesterday. From start to finish we had a great day, the Routemaster was a quirky fun edition to the day, our driver managed to get us there and back safely avoiding all those branches 🙄😁, lovely conductor with his retro ticket machine and our bus tickets and Alan, what a font of experience with a lovely warm friendly temperament who managed to spend quality time chatting to us all and sharing his knowledge. The vineyards firstly Court Garden .. fantastic, a warm welcome from Howard and his team/family, beautiful place, the passion for this family business and their expertise in their products oozed from Chris and Hugo, they were so informative and knowledgeable and the wine was fabulous, the lunch was delicious, catered brilliantly for my husband who is coeliac. Onwards to Bluebell Vineyards.. what a stunning location, to think it used to be home to 10,000 pigs. Again great knowledge from Craig along with “our” Alan. Beautiful wines, we will now appreciate much more how much hard labour goes into wine making, especially the sparkling variety. Thank you to Danny & Great British Wine Tours for a fantastic day, will definitely be recommending you.

Nice tour but room for improvement
"We were 6 couples who had booked this tour. The weather was lovely. The tour is recommendable, but there was room for improvement. There were WAY too many people in the tour group. 62 persons on the bus resulted in a lot of noise. It was difficult to hear what was being said around the vineyard. The first vineyard was pleasant to visit. They were very knowledgeable. We had good food for lunch. The second vineyard could have been skipped. Nothing was explained there. They only served tastings without tours or any history. I would recommend the tour, but the number of participants should be reduced."

      Fabulous day out
Fantastic day out with Danny who took us to two different vineyards where we learnt about the wine making process and were talked through tastings of still and sparkling wines. Lunch was at High Weald dairy, a delicious cheese and charcuterie board followed by a tour and explanation of the cheese making process. Everyone we met was informative and passionate about their craft, Can thoroughly recommend this day out but it would also make a fabulous gift for friends or family.

      Amazing trip!
Excellent Court Garden Farm, nice picnick, nice experience! The owner Howard and his team very attentive to details, warm welcome! The second vineyard The bluebell estate with Artelium wines not as great as the first one, when you try wines you must have a olive orabit of cheese to really lift the taste of wine. The owners more business focus not so much on the people. Alan, the lady drinving the bus and the young guy as a bus guard excellent.

      A great day out!
A really enjoyable day. We started at Court Garden vineyard in Ditchling where we had a short but interesting tour and good tasting session (not to mention a delicious lunch), and then went on to the Bluebell vineyard near Sheffield Park. Great wines and food and very friendly tour guides and driver. I would highly recommend.
