- alexb3300 contributionsFascinating, entertaining, recommended!MacKenzie was an excellent tour guide, obviously knows everything there is to know about York and it’s history, which was exactly what we wanted as we live in York but don’t actually know too much about what went on here!! A very entertaining and informative tour, not too much walking, yet you seemed to visit so many places and hear so many stories!! Very patient, encouraged us all to ask questions, and was very light-hearted so made the stories easy to listen to and almost come to life!! MacKenzie mentioned she changes her stories every tour as well, so I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and do another tour with her, she was that good!! Highly recommended, you’re sure to enjoy and learn plenty!!Written 18 December 2020

Family and wheel chair friendly. The tour guide, McKenzie, was hilariously informative with real facts about York’s gruesome past. She somehow managed to tailor the tour to suit a very diverse age group leaving everyone Intrigued to the next stopping point of the tour.
Mckenzie’s historically factual story’s inspired the children in our party to do research of their own the following day !
Recommended if you are a wheelchair user as the pace was slow and safe. Recommended if you fancy a few spooky stories and a great family evening ! McKenzie is helpful and full of information and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Both myself and my son really enjoyed all the stories Mc Kenzy told us on the walk. They were really informative and spooky. Mc Kenzy told the stories in such an entertaining way that she had us jumping and checking over our shoulders for ghosts. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was okay and even reassured my son about ghost possession. On her way home she walked with us a little and pointed us in the right direction which I thought was lovely. Best ghost walk by far.

I stumbled across this Facebook page purely by accident. Our family used to visit York a lot when I was a youngster. Mackenzie tells the stories so well, some of them I knew but the majority of them are new to my ears. I am happy to say that watching these tours during lockdown has re-ignited my love for this beautiful historic city and we are already planning a trip to explore York and of course we will take a non-virtual tour as well! Looking forward to it and thank you for keeping us entertained! 10/10

This ghost tour was a treat! A dear friend and me experienced it together and even though I have been living in York for over half a year now, I was surprised that there is so much more to discover.
Mackenzie is such a lovely person and one if the best story tellers I have ever heard. She is so passionate about the city’s history and ghost stories that she enthusiastically makes you love it too!
If you are in York, do not miss this opportunity to spend an evening with her and learn more about scary York.

Really enjoyed this tour with McKenzie who was a great story teller/actress who backed up the stories with evidence of her own research so it wasn’t cheesy like some tours can be.
The pace is gentle and distance walked is not to onerous so should anyone be interested who has difficulty with mobility give it a try. There are a good few stops to hear about the tales of York to catch your breath.

McKenzie is a brilliant story teller. We first did this tour in 2019, but had to bail out as we had our dog with us and he was scared of the fireworks in the city as we were there in early November. This year McKenzie booked us on the tour again when we contacted her and this time we did the full walk. It is well researched - a perfect mix of gruesome history and spooky stories with good humour mixed in. Highly recommended. We loved it.

We’ve been on a few ghost tours in York over the years, and this was up with the best, particularly as the stories were pretty original and different. Mackenzie delivers a story really well, and relates really well to adults and the kids - we had 3 girls aged 8-15 and they all really enjoyed it. Really good value for money.

Mackenzie is a great host to begin with. She sets the scene for each tale and it feels immersive, informative and makes your hairs on the back of your neck stand up (at times)! You can tell she loves her job and this makes you feel like you’re getting the best experience. It is good value, fun and interesting. Would definitely recommend!

I have done several ghost walks in York during various visits and I have to say this was the best. Our guide Mackenzie keeps the groups to a reasonable size, no more than 30, and unlike the other walks she gave us a lot more background information, there were some newer stories and she really brought them all to life in the way she tells them. She was funny and engaging and made a point of talking to everyone in the group. I would thoroughly recommend this walk, it’s by far the best of York’s ghost walks, the others are good - this was better.

A really enjoyable walk around York full of grizzly, spooky stories. Our host Mackenzie was very knowledgable about York's history, including stories that she has researched herself. The host was very personable to each member of the group and really brought the stories to life. Would definitely recommend.
