Kids and I joined the 10:00 tour before the area got busy, we really enjoyed our walking tour with the fun facts about Harry Potter. Thanks to our #harrypotterwalkingtour guide, we tried out the nice pub THE TURF TAVERN through the narrow alleyway along New College Way/ St. Helen’s Passage! Lovely #weekendtripuk #Oxford

      Interesting and beautiful tour
This was a fun and informative tour of Oxford. The city was busy when we visited, and I was glad we booked the tour rather than trying to coordinate visiting all of the spots and tickets on our own. It made it so much easier and more enjoyable. Chris did a great job of sharing interesting stories and things to notice throughout Oxford.

      A great walking tour!
Our guide was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and colleges. She recommended two books to better understand Oxford. Her friendly demeanor made the tour even more enjoyable. We really liked seeing the inside of Christ Church and Trinity College. Our group size was small enough that we could ask questions which isn't always the case with other walking tours.

      Thank you Imogen!
Wonderful introduction to the city of Oxford, with real insights by an alumni by the name of Imogen ( not sure how her name is spelled but she is an amazing storyteller). The walk itself is not far, but gives you a good impression of the history nonetheless, because of the stories an explanations during the walk. We had never heard before about the Bullingdon club or the fact that every Oxford alumni knows what you mean when you mention "the other place". They way Imogen told the anecdotes made it both humourous and interesting, and gave us the feeling we wouldn't have read about some of them in a book or anywhere else. I highly recommend this way of getting to know the oldest English speaking University in the world.

Fun behind-the-scenes of life at Oxford University
My 16 y/o daughter absolutely loved this tour. Freja was a wonderful guide and as an alumni, she really brought Oxford to life, offering insight and humour into every aspect of the tour. We loved hearing about the architecture, people and events that shaped the city but we mostly enjoyed hearing about traditions and unusual stories specific to University life. we also enjoyed visiting some of the sites that inspired Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia. We highly recommend :-)

Great way to see a bit of Oxford with a tour guide.
We enjoyed this tour very much. My only complaint would be that it is advertised as a Harry Potter tour and we had minimal references in our tour to Harry Potter. I learned more about the colleges and oxford than I did about harry potter filming locations. It would have been nice to learn a bit more about the Harry Potter part of the tour as that is why my kids picked it. Our guide was super friendly, we liked him alot.

The Best Walking Tour we have ever done ⭐️
We took the 2 hour free walking tour and were very fortunate to have Ryan as our guide. This was easily the BEST free walking tour we have ever done anywhere in the world. The commentary was historical, interesting and fun. I highly recommend you do this tour. Far exceeded our expectations. 5 Star ⭐️ Ps: don’t forget to bring cash to tip them.

Amee was an amazing tour guide. She was pretty knowledgeable and a great story teller. We now know more about Oxford history, culture and student life thanks to her. We will love to have another tour with her. Sincerely, Juan & Vanessa

      Tim Our Brilliant Tour Guide
My grand daughter of 15 and myself had the most wonderful tour given by Tim. He was excellent in the way he told the stories with the skill of including the history of Oxford and the Colleges and Libraries. He had a wonderful way of delivering his talk and was very amusing. We were lucky to have him as our guide.

Everything we expected and more, with a delightful guide.
The experience was a complete success. Our driver picked us up in London and drove us to Oxford where he gave us a private tour of the “highlights.” He even got us into a college that wasn’t technically open for tours. Footprints kept us informed in advance of what to expect and was very responsible in answering all of our questions. The tour guide/driver was a lovely young Oxford graduate who was, in addition to being a knowledgeable guide, extremely good company.

      Fun and wholesome tour
Extremely fun tour! The tour guy was late due to issues unknown, so someone else sprinted to cover our group’s shift. Our tour guide Tim was extremely funny and just pleasant and nice overall, constantly apologizing for the delay, but he made up for it with his jokes and stories. Perfectly saw all the spots shown in the movies, which is very nice because we didn’t needed to figure all of that out ourselves. But it didn’t only include Harry Potter, Tim also discussed the history of the libraries and some fun facts about famous people from Oxford. I highly recommend this tour. The only thing I could recommend as improvement is a little more immersion in the Harry Potter world. The supposed quiz was not that elaborate, the tour guide didn’t wear anything related to the Harry Potter world. It would also be so fun for the kids to get trinkets or something like a Hogwarts certificate at the end that they are officially a wizard now for example. It’s a small investment which would really elevate the entire tour.

I know Oxford and have visited friends here in the past, however it was wonderful to go on this tour. Trevor was so knowledgeable and pitched the content so well that two hours in the February cold and drizzle just flew by. The pace was well handled so that information came across clearly at key sites. My husband and I are both very interested in history and were fascinated by all of the facts noted in addition to the architectural and literary references. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting Oxford.

Our tour guide Trevor made an already captivating city all the more enthralling. The weather came down on us hard within the first five minutes, but Trevor remained undeterred in providing the group with a experience to remember.

The group size was small, which in the current situation was reassuring, but also made for a more personal experience. It’s clear that the safety of the group was a priority for Trevor.

I would recommend this tour as a must for any visitor to Oxford, especially those unfamiliar with the city’s unique history. It was refreshing having a tour guide who clearly loved the city he was describing.

Our family really enjoyed our walking tour. Even our 7 year old lasted the whole 2 hours, and enjoyed it. Our guide Trevor was superb- he was clear, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Definitely recommend this walk during your visit to Oxford- it was definately the highlight of our day and we gained such unique insight to hear from a student of the city. A visit to oxford isn’t complete without this unique tour.

Our tour guide Jack was brilliant, he gave an amazing insight onto the city’s history as well as the university system. He did an incredible job tailoring the tour to us which as a perspective student I found so helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour, being shown around by someone who genuinely loves the city made it all the more interesting.

We've taken walking tours abroad where it's been obvious that the guide has said the same script a thousand times.

This was so NOT like that.

Jack has an MA and PhD in History from Oxford, and teaches there now. So he really had the inside scoop on lots of things, past and present. AND he was witty, engaged, theatrical, enthusiastic and genuine - he answered every question we had (I ask a lot), he engaged with every member of the group personally at various points, and he made the entire tour full of fun and laughter. I can see Jack hosting history shows on TV - he would go down a storm.

Extra detail is that we'd brought my daughter to Oxford because she's planning to apply next month to study there, and Jack was full of additional tips, ideas and background info that really helped her get a sense of undergraduate life in Oxford, some of the differences between the colleges, etc.

    We score Jack A*A*A*!

We had the most wonderful tour with our guide, Trevor, and to say he was knowledgeable would be an understatement! Trevor was brilliant with all the members of our cosy group: he kept the younger members engaged by including them with relevant facts and chatted personally with the older members as we moved from location to location. The tour encompassed the more famous colleges such as Magdalen, Christ Church and Radcliffe through to some of the lesser well known ones with some excellent anecdotes about their more notable alumni. Serious points were scored with the JRR Tolkien facts! As a resident of the city I will pass the iconic buildings and features again but with new respect and appreciation for their history thanks to this enchanting tour. (Trevor, I hope you get your beer from the boss!)

What a great walk. This is a must do if you want to understand Oxford. Trevor is an eloquent storyteller, who never hesitates or misses his storyline and has a great sense of humor. A few times a bit difficult to follow if your not a native English speaker and if you are in your teens ;-) , but we highly recommend the tour and Trevor!

Hannah was an excellent tour guide. She spoke clearly and was extremely knowledgeable. Her manner was friendly and pleasant and answered all of our questions. We would recommend this tour without hesitation as you always learn far more from a tour guide than trying to read leaflets etc if you don't have very long in a city.
    Thank you Hannah 😊

Great tour by Trevor, he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and delivered the information in a confident and friendly manner throwing the odd joke or witty observation.

This tour is a must at the start of any city visit and I highly recommend this one.

Would have been five stars but for a lot of places being understandably closed to visitors due to covid.

This was a brilliant tour and an excellent way to see some of the most interesting sights that Oxford has to offer. Our tour guide, Trevor, seemed to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the city and its attractions; how anyone can store that much information I'll never know! However Trevor knew how to present this information in a way as to be interesting, funny and never dull.

Despite the rain we had an incredible time on this tour, which can only attest to just how much fun it was. We even managed to see inside certain locations such as the Divinity School, despite the obvious logistical challenges thrown up by COVID.

All in all, this tour was a brilliant way to spend 2 hours seeing the city centre and some of its most interesting locations - well worth the money!
