Overview
Oxford University is one of the world’s most famous universities and this 90-minute walking tour takes you behind the scenes of its historic colleges. Follow in the footsteps of alumni such as Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, and J.R.R. Tolkien; admire architectural landmarks such as Trinity College, New College and the Radcliffe Camera; and peek inside the colleges, chapels, and halls.
What to Expect
Your tour will begin at the blue gates of Trinity College and take you into some of the oldest colleges, usually including New College, which was founded in 1379 and made an appearance in the Harry Potter films.

The tour typically also visits Exeter College which was founded in 1314, Balliol College which was founded in 1264 and has educated more 20th-century British Prime Ministers than any other college. All tours will end inside the University Library.

On your tour, you will learn about the history of the city and the university from a local guide. You will also hear about famous alumni who studied and taught at the university and actually step inside some of the oldest college dining halls, chapels, cloisters, and quads.

Your tour will include less than one mile of walking and all entrance fees are included.

Moderately interesting introductory tour

Our tour guide was nearly ten minutes late in getting to the start point and never introduced himself. He was not prepared for people who paid cash and had no change so had to dash across the road to get change, thus causing a further...More
