- Q8995YDsallyt0 contributionsA Goldilicks tour: everything just rightPerfect to tailor to your own interests and abilities. Just the right distance to walk, just the right amount of detail and a good balance between town walking and riverside. Feel we have seen the best sights of LudlowWritten 30 September 2024
- 282andyn0 contributionsVery informative tour, taken at our own paceThis tour was perfect for us. We could list to the audio and stop along the way if we wanted. It covered a wide area and gave lots of interesting historic detail. It took us about 1.5 hours and was well worth the money.Written 24 May 2024
- EGREASBY0 contributionsGreat town tourThoroughly recommend this app. Voicemap. Purchased via Viator . Purchase/ download onto phone Own headphones. Excellent tour of Ludlow purchased as there was no option to use local tour. If it has been wet it is wise to wear sturdy shoes for the part of the tour over the Common and by the river. I will use Voicemap in other locations in the futureWritten 23 March 2024

I thought the guide was superb - 50 elements to the walk. I got to around 40 before I had to leave to go to a football game. Perfect if you are coming by train as it starts pretty much outside the station. I was going for around 1 hour 30 before I had to stop.
The spoken guide was nice and light, just a good amount of intro info to the town. Plenty of interesting facts, very accessible.
The app navigation was terrific (just a couple of times where I found it lost me, even when I was on the correct path). I loved the set and forget element to it. Trust when it tells you to stop and listen to the walking instructions which are very simple. Makes such a nice change not to have to get a phone out all the time and feels like an 'indoor' attraction when done like this
I'd 100% go back to Shrewsbury with a bit more time to play and will use the guide again. Great value

our Lil was around Shrewsbury town we know well, but history not so. There were a number of occasions when you got to point, he told you to stand still and he told you a lot of information. during the time he was talking, wanted to round a bit, looking at what he was talking about. Therefore, it would have been helpful when he finished telling you historical information he would say now return to the middle of the bridge for example and walk up the hill rather than waiting till we were well of course.

St Mary's church and the stained glass window were an unexpected bonus I would never otherwise have found.
Really useful summary of Shrewsbury History and pointers to other highlights such as the gardens.
Easy to use. Download and listen in advance to get orientated. Then play in real time on the day. Narrative starts as you reach each point of interest so you can skip bits if you like.
Otherwise I would have just headed straight to a tea room as I usually do.

A good tour around the sights. Plenty of detail. Returned to several locations on finishing to spend more time. There are some great pubs to try out.

Difficult to follow, and also I thought it would be Darwin focused but I learned very little. Gave up half way through the guide.

Great way to discover Shrewsbury - even though we didn’t have ear phones with us! Interesting facts, smart technology keeping up with our walking route. And the sun shone ☀️😊
