About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lucykK6658IH0 contributionsExcellent tour! We all loved it!I booked Daniel for a private Bridgerton tour for my sister’s hen party in November 2024. It was fantastic! Daniel was accommodating to our hen games during the tour and included his own quiz. He was approachable answering all questions and considerate of us all throughout. Some of the group (myself included) are lovers of history and were very grateful that Daniel included aspects of Jane Austen’s life and the regency period while also showing the Bridgerton sites to us. The whole hen party enjoyed and I have already recommended him to others! Looking forward to another tour soon, thank you!Written 7 December 2024
- 940MarkR9400 contributionsTruly amazing and highly recommended. Our company visited Bath for the week, with team members flying in from all over Europe. We organized this tour as a special event for the entire company, and it exceeded all expectations! Daniel was absolutely fantastic—his deep knowledge and engaging storytelling brought the city to life. He connected with everyone in our group, making the experience enjoyable for all. Many of the team are already planning return visits because they were so inspired by what they saw and learned. As someone who’s lived in Bath for four years, I was amazed at how much I discovered about my own city. Daniel’s insights made me appreciate it on a whole new level. Truly an incredible experience and one I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting (or even living in) Bath. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Written 3 December 2024
- Patricia M0 contributionsFun way to tour Bath!Best tour guide ever! Dan brought in stories from Bridgerton with local lore. Showed us scenes from the show on his iPad and how modern aspects were hidden. Very easy to talk to and we played quiz where anyone could guess the right answer. Would definitely recommend!Written 28 October 2024
- 551jessib0 contributionsWell knowledgeable and personal tour!Dan provided such a warm and personal tour! Very knowledgeable throughout our tour and was able to show us off the beaten path. He was willing to detour to show us new things as well. We shared such a wonderful afternoon in Glastonbury and had a clean and comfortable car. I would love to have another tour with him in the future!Written 27 October 2024
- donjfarr0 contributionsHighest marks we can give!First, Bath is a wonderful place to visit, and we highly recommend it. Now, on to Bath Insider Tours. Without going into super deep details, we can only say that Daniel was a treat to spend a couple of days with. As a native of Bath, he has a deep affection and appreciation for the city and the surrounding areas coupled with a great understanding of its history and culture. Daniel also carries a "bag of tricks" with him that turns a walking tour into a mulit-media experience. He will pull out photos, videos, and music to animate his commentary. Actually, commentary is not a good word, it is story telling the entertains and enlightens at the same time. We give Bath Insider Tours our highest recommendation without reservation.Written 24 October 2024
- jillkp5100 contributionsHIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Daniel made the day amazingly fun and educational. His personal stories and wit kept us entertained and the knowledge that he shared with us about Stonehenge fired up our curiosity. I definitely recommend THIS TOUR! Very personalized and enjoyable!Written 20 October 2024
- charlesR8380 contributionsA great visit to Stonehenge! We had a wonderful experience touring Stonehenge with Daniel. - M791FOamyd0 contributionsBath with DanielAbsolutely! Here's a short paragraph you can share with your guide: "We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our walking tour of Bath! Daniels knowledge of the city's history, combined with his engaging storytelling, made the tour both educational and fun. We appreciated how he brought Bath’s rich heritage to life and kept the whole group entertained throughout. Thank you for making our visit to this beautiful city so memorable!"Written 6 October 2024
- mikebQ998VG0 contributionsFabulous GuideDaniel was absolutely fabulous in guiding us to and through Stonehenge. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable on every aspect of Stonehenge and made the entire tour fun, interesting and enlightening. And he has quite a sense of humor as well. We can’t recommend him highly enough.Written 2 October 2024

- Harletta0 contributionsVery personable and knowledgeable guide to a fantastic site!We had a wonderful afternoon! We have wanted to see Stonehenge for years, and it did not disappoint. Dan’s knowledge of the site, and stories and history enhanced our experience. He explained many things we would not have known on our own, and made it come to life. Highly recommend any time with him, but particularly a trip to Stonehenge.Written 20 September 2024
- Twinkletoes_svk0 contributionsIf you want to have a great tour - BOOK WITH DANIEL!!!I really don't have the words for how amazing Daniel was. I booked the Bath and Stonehenge tour with the Salisbury Cathedral add on for day one and the South Cotswolds with the Mamesbury Abbey for day two. Our group consisted of 5 adults ranging ages 40 - 79. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things Bath, was super helpful in advising other things to do, hot spots to visit, where to eat and just generally adjusting itineraries so we could pack in as much as possible. All that being said, it really was the extra care and attention that he gave my parents to make sure they were doing ok with the walking and stairs, that lunch stops were extra careful with food allergies, checked in frequently on bathroom needs, etc that really puts Daniel at THE TOP of tour guides I have experienced, and he is genuinely an exceptional human being. If you are thinking about booking with him - don't hesitate - he will NOT disappoint.Written 18 September 2024
- Judy F0 contributionsOff the beaten tourist trailsWe engaged Daniel for our 40th anniversary celebration, opting for the Wells and Cheddar Tour. So glad we sidestepped the busy Cotswolds for a ride through the countryside to the smallest city in England. Daniel is the consummate tour guide and traveler extraordinaire. Having toured around the world, he has a keen sensibility for timing, pace, information and detail (but not too much) that made our experience just right for us. Wells Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace were architectural marvels. We loved the up-close tour and tastes at an authentic Cheddar Cheese maker, complete with take-home cheeses that have been cured in nearby Cheddar caves. We also enjoyed a special treat in a stop at a local strawberry farm, plus a decadent brownie treat along the way. The finale of the day was a short but rocky hike up to the top of Cheddar Gorge for a panoramic view all the way out to the Sea. Daniel was attentive, responsive, friendly, and professional. The van was impeccably clean, all the way down to the windows, which he shined upon our pickup! Dan is high in demand, so be sure to book several months ahead of your trip. He raises the bar for warm and personal travel. Highly recommended!Written 15 September 2024
- sharonsO4852TI0 contributionsExcellent tour with a knowledgeable guideDaniel provided knowledgeable and entertaining historical background for our tour of Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge. He customized a half day for my group and was a delightful companion!Written 14 September 2024
- travelinspiration0 contributionsAbsolutely loved our time with Daniel - he has such a gift for guiding!!!My husband/I been blessed to do private tours past 20 years all over the world and Daniel is truly the best! That is saying a lot as we are discerning travelers! His communication is great as well as guiding style supplemented by iPad, music, snack - really goes above and beyond!! Did 3 hour Bath tour and his car was great for seeing views, etc. He delivers the history in easy to understand and humorous way and has the best personality!! Would love to tour with him many times over!!!Written 14 September 2024

We had a great private tour of Laycock and Castle Combe with Daniel. He was a great tour guide, had a lot for interesting information and facts, well equipped with an iPad with pictures and movies from scenes to show when you stand at the location where they were shot which added to the experience. He’s also sweet and funny. Overall the tour was very enjoyable and we would highly recommend Daniel’s tours of Bath and North East Sommerset.

We had the best time touring out from Bath with Daniel! He was so friendly, accommodating and a veritable fountain of information-a delightful tour guide. Four of us started from Bath and went to Chippenham/Lacock, where Daniel showed us old pubs and homes used in some of the Harry Potter films. We then travelled to the Cotswalds/Castle Combe, which truly was a highlight for me. A visit to a local farmhouse where the hostess served homemade scones, plum jam and true Jersey clotted cream rounded out the trip. As others have noted, I'd give a 15 out of 10!

The tour was great - the two villages were so idyllic and peaceful with their natural beauty and charming stone cottages (some with thatched roofs). We should not fail to mention the beautiful gardens and small waterways along the way.
Daniel is an entertaining and very knowledgeable storyteller with interesting tidbits about the region’s past, including its historic role as a flourishing wool center in medieval times with local weavers and sheep farmers vital to the English economy. He pointed out that the area hosts filming locations including productions like Harry Potter, War Horse, Dr Doolittle(1967), and Downton Abbey.
A pleasant surprise to us was the planned stop for English Cream Tea accompanied by scones with clotted cream and homemade jam where we were greeted by Caron the proprietor of Fosse Farmhouse. During the traditional tea we learned that Caron’s eclectic B&B has become popular amongst Japanese tourists after an anime series was based on her home.
From pickup at our Bath hotel to drop off at the train station (at our request) the tour was perfect and Daniel a pure pleasure to listen to and converse with the entire time.

Daniel made a special day one to remember. He's very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable immediately. You sense he loves his job.
This tour was amazing, an opportunity to know there is much more to the area than the Roman Baths.
The service is top notch, starting with a very comfortable car, water provided, and Covid-19 safety measures covered as well.
I highly recommend this tour, and Bath Insider Tours as a company.
I will be trying the other tours he offers on my next visit to Bath.

My wife and I enjoyed our tour to the Cotswolds, specifically Lacock and Castle Combe with our guide Daniel. The drive through the English countryside to visit each of the villages was exactly what we had hoped for in our adventure. The quaint villages were peaceful and quiet without too many people. The buildings were picturesque as were the cobblestone pathways and churches.
Daniel was a fantastic host on our tour and is really what made the time spent on our adventure as great as it was. He was punctual on our pickup, delightful in conversation, and witty to share a story. The pace was perfect to share a small story between stops, loads of information on each of the locations and in between. Thank you Daniel for our wonderful adventure!

My husband and I had an amazing tour with Dan. He help us to travel to places in the Cotswolds we could never have seen on our own. He show us the location where so many movies had been filed and also showed us the scenes from the movies on his Ipad. The entire area was beautiful. We also had an amazing Afternoon Tea which my husband and are still talking about. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the countryside and have an entertaining experience.

We had an amazing afternoon with Daniel visiting Castle Coombs and Lacock. Both incredibly beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. Daniel was an excellent guide, really friendly and informative telling us interesting facts and anecdotes of the towns and the area. I would really encourage you to book a tour with him if you are in the area. You get a much better experience than driving yourself, we learned so much and had a lovely afternoon. We ended with a cream tea at Fosse Farmhouse which we never would have known about on our own. We will be back and will definitely book another tour with Daniel.
Thank you Daniel for giving us an afternoon to remember!

The best afternoon of our trip to England.
Daniel was the perfect guide. Took the time to find out about our interests and catered the trip to be exactly what we were looking for. The perfect story teller, my teens were completely engaged the entire time, from stories about the locations we were visiting to the people who lived there, not to mention the Harry Potter filming lore (loved that Daniel
had an iPad with footage of the films to accompany what we were seeing). So many interesting bits of information along the way (from the history of the area to seeing Salisbury Hill whilst listening to Peter Gabriel sing about it). The cream tea at Fosse Farmhouse was the best I’ve had and the stories of Caron’s adventures were a perfect way to end the afternoon.
All in all, worth every penny and then some. Would absolutely recommend to anyone else coming to Bath!

This was, no doubt, one of the best tour I have ever been on and I am a tour guide so I know what I am talking about. Daniel is a great guide, very knowledgeable but fun and always ready to go the extra mile for his guests and transform a tour into an amazing experience. My sister and I had a limited time but wanted to visit everything, Lacock, Castle Combe and Stonehenge so Daniel created a special itinerary just for the 2 us. In just half day we had the unique opportunity to enter in Stonehenge inner circle, visit Lacock and have a walk in Castle Combe... it could not have been better! 100% recommended

We had an amazing, full informed and absolutely joyful trip with Daniel.
This tour is also worthy for the outstanding natural beauty of this area.
It was so pleasant and we couldn‘t have wished for a better guide!
Thanks Daniel, for the best last day of our trip to England - and of course the best scones :)
