Lovely Tour and Tasting at a small and authentic distillery
An excellent tour. Headed up by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, both when signing in and having the initial gin talk, to the gentleman who ran us through the distilling and bottling process of both their gin and rum. Was interesting to understand the differences between mass produced supermarket regulars and local, smaller production based gins and rums that are of top quality, taste far better and don't give one as much of a hangover, owing to the production process ( mass produced mixes in the heads and tails) whilst Shakespeare do not. Lovely tasting of the gins and rums afterwards. The rum of which is one of a few real UK made rums

    Great gin experience
My partner loves gin so I booked this for us whilst we were away in Stratford. The tour was great and I can see why they have won so many awards. We were in a small group so it felt more like a conversation rather than someone talking lots of facts and stories at us for the hour. Obviously the most fun part was the tasting at the end where we got to try their rum and gin. Bought some from the gift shop at the end which you also get a 10% discount on. Great experience for any gin lover.

    Nice Birthday Treat!
Really good experience for my birthday and our host was really good, funny and helpful especially when advising us of our gin recipes of where to tweak our recipes ensuring a good gin. Been before to another gin school but this was better as we learnt a little more.

    Forget mother’s ruin!
Wow. Sublime experience from start to finish. David, Sam and Catherine were fantastic hosts. They provided the right amount of information, fun and content to the Gin School Experience, culminating in the production of our very own unique “Bad Boys Gin” at 47.7% ABV. My suggestion is, don’t just go on the distillery or tasting tour. Treat yourself and go to Gin school. You won’t regret it! HIC, HIC!! 🍸🤪

Gin making class (and mini tour)
Informative and fun afternoon making gin! And a mini tour of the distillery too. Sam was very knowledgeable, a great host/presenter and prepared some of the best GnTs I’ve ever tasted (included as part of the experience). Looking forward to sampling our own gins once they’ve had a couple of weeks to settle! 10 minute taxi ride from Stratford on Avon, so fits in nicely with a weekend away. Recommended!

    We created our own gin!
We had a fun 3 hours creating our own gin having had a voucher for the Gin Experience from friends. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome and reassured throughout the whole process. We learnt so much about the history of gin and botanicals. We left with our gin labelled and sealed - it has to rest for two weeks before we can drink it - we did sample it before bottling and were really pleased with our creation. Good to support this independent business who are going from strength to strength with a great team.

    Absolutely brilliant!
Absolutely amazing!! We had a great time learning about the history of gin and how it is made, and then with the help of the distillers we designed our own recipe. We were then able to create our gin using a mini still and bottle it. We were able to choose our own gin name and it was a lovely touch that the team were able to print out professional labels for our bottles. The whole team were all great and very welcoming. The session had a fantastic atmosphere, helped along with tasting samples of their own gins. If you love gin you will love this but definitely don’t drive there.

    The perfect alcoholic gem!
100% recommend! Brought this as a gift and they came home absolutely buzzing. I brought them a tour around the distillery and then the rum school. They both loved creating their own rum and having fun with all the different botanicals. It’s such a beautiful keepsake with bringing home the bottled rum that they made. Definitely an experience they’ll remember for a lifetime even if they were sozzled😂 The staff were amazing and helpful when they needed guidance. Looks like a new Christmas tradition has been made! Thankyou Shakespeare Distillery!

A fun afternoon learning about and tasting gin!
Katherine, David and Jack all gave lively and informative talks. The gin tasting was particularly fun and thanks to Katherine we will enjoy gin drinking all the more in future!

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative afternoon. We started with the opportunity for coffee and then Howard, a very enthusiastic and entertaining presenter, regaled us with a well illustrated presentation. To actually be in the distillery made it a much more informative and interesting time and to meet the staff actually working was a real education. To then finish with another performance from Howard in the tasting classroom was great and we all thoroughly enjoyed a great afternoon. Can’t wait to go back for their Gin creation session! Thoroughly recommended!

The introduction by Harvey was brilliant how gin originated and done with such flair and humour. He engaged everyone with his amazing knowledge of drinking gin through the ages to present day. The best part had to be the tasting in the bar and having the opportunity to buy items from the shop with a 10% reduction was a real incentive. Other members of the team who showed us the stills which were all named from Shakespeare s` plays and the process of producing the gin was made so interesting. Finally when we entered the bottling area it was good to see that other drinks are being introduced including Limoncello.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. All of the staff have great passion and knowledge of their business and deliver an experience that is both engaging and well judged. We would recommend it to everyone and will be looking to book a cocktail making class on our next visit to the area. Absolutely first class!

The Shakespeare Distillery Tour was a birthday present and as my birthday was in lockdown, I was also given the home tasting kit as a present which was great as well. The tour was very informative and fun and I learnt a lot about gin. The people that work there are clearly very passionate about what they do and are full of energy. The various gins that they produce is lovely and now they also produce rum (white and spiced). They have a variety of classes like cocktail making class etc and I would consider returning or buying someone a gift from this distillery. They are a new/young and small distillery and I feel they are going to be a great success in the future. Well done for surviving the pandemic.

This was a lovely Christmas present. The Tour was done mostly by Harvey, who was brilliant explaining the history of gin distilling back to the Romans/Greeks, through to the modern boom in Craft Gins. The tour of the factory was interesting, but the icing on the tour was the gin sampling along with a detailed explanation of how to use geniuses or choose accompanying tonics. Harvey was excellent and I'd recommend this tour to anyone!

I thought this would be standard ‘tasting’ experience.. couldn’t have been more wrong! There was a tour, croup led with copious (and delicious tastings) but the fact we actually created our own gin : selecting ingredients, weighing and measuring them to add to the still, tasting and bottling, labelling.. it was just fantastic! I have already recommended it to friends and am trying to find a reason to return!

We did the distillery tour on Wednesday August 12th & had a fantastic time. The tour begins with a short & humorous talk on the history of gin making in Britain with the very entertaining Tara.
Then you move into the distillery itself to learn about the whole process of gin making.I found out lots of interesting & funny facts that I hadn`t previously heard of.You get to see the stills the gin is produced in & then move on to the bottling & labelling process, all delivered in a witty & interesting style.
The final &,obviously, most enjoyable part of the tour is in the tasting room. Here you get to sample a couple of gins & a rum before getting to choose your complimentary tipple.
As you leave there is an excellent shop to purchase the magnificent gins & rums that this fantastic distillery produces.
All in all it is a brilliant way to spend a couple of hours & I cannot recommend it enough.

We enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. The tour was well managed and COVID safe. The presenters were knowledgeable and gave entertaining and well practised explanations. The coffee waiting area was welcoming, the coffee good and the cake delicious. The gin is pretty good too.

We were excited by the whole idea of the day but it way surpassed expectation. the 3 hours just flew by in what was an extremely slick and well put together experience. on arrival our group of 4 were greeted with a delicious G&T and we were then taken through an extremely interesting and entertaining history of Gin. from there we were introduced to the stills and had the process explained, again in an entertaining and informative way before being taken into the room where the alchemy was to take place. There followed a couple of hours of fun, education and some drinking after which we had created our own bespoke, personally branded gin. The attention to detail, and quality of the experience was only surpassed by the brilliant team who ran the afternoon. Well informed, passionate and professional, they made the day. We all work in corporate events/comms and are pretty sceptical and hard taskmasters and we LOVED it. Highly recommend.
