Enjoyed this virtual tour from home!
May 2020
This one hour tour was fun to do from home as I did, with quality photos/video, but would work just as well at the location. Easy website booking, flexible layout with clear audio presentation and bite-sized chunks of facts and history. Great value and feels like Birmingham is entering another golden era with the Commonwealth Games 2022 and HS2 on the way. I’ll be signing up for more tours when they go online!

Great that you enjoyed the self-guided tour as a virtual tour from you home in Nottingham. We have had people from as far away as Dallas, USA, take the tour virtually while we are all limited in visiting cities. This is the first of four tours - the second is called 'Centenary Square and Canals' and is availlable to download from TripAdvisor or the Positively Birmingham walking tour website. We look forward to seeing you on a real tour of the city sometime when we are back up and running.

Thank you, a brilliant way to enjoy this awesome city centre whilst stuck at home!

Really enjoyed the virtual tour thank you so much! As a Brummie (well, currently living in Solihull) I love popping into the city, usually most weekends... I'm missing my city so much during this lockdown. It's great to learn all about the future plans for these squares, and the history is so interesting and makes me a proud Brummie. Looking forward the canals virtual tour!

Hi Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on our self-guided tour of Birmingham which you used as a 'Virtual Tour'. We have two such tours available now. The idea is that you can do them from the comfort of your home or school while you can not visit the city. Then once visitors can come again they can use the tours in 'self-guided' mode and take a walk around the city without the need for a group and guide. We hope to re-start our 'live' tours over the summer but in the meantime these give a flavour for what we offer once the Conronavirus situation eases.

Very informative tour of Birmingham, all done from the comfort of our home in Bournemouth. Excellent home learning tool for the kids too.

Hi Great to hear that you enjoyed our first virtual tour of Birmingham. We have a second tour up now as well: Centenary Square and canals. In all there will be four tours which will, as a box set, cover a lot of areas of modern Birmingham in the context of it origins and aspirations. We are very pleased that the home-schooling in Bournemouth was made more fun by our efforts. Come and visit us for real once you are allowed up to Birmingham again!

A chance to take a virtual tour when we can't go out
Apr 2020
Great opportunity to see some great photos and video of places I've often seen but (apparently) knew very little about. Jonathan has done a lot of research and put together an interesting presentation about some of the leading characters and landmarks of the city centre which sadly we cannot visit at the moment!

Thanks so much for taking the tour. We are developing two more tours and as virtual tours they will not only be of general interest but will also fulfill the curriculum requirements for schools including Key Stage 2 & 3 as well as the GCSE Geography curriculum. Of course if you do a 'Zoom Pub Quiz' then the round on Birmingham should be easy! We look forward to seeing you and the family on a real tour some day in the future!

Very interesting history of Birmingham
Apr 2020
This was a virtual tour of Birmingham and a nice way of educating yourself on Birmingham’s past history. I have visited the library but would go again in the future due to watching the video. I will take more notice of statues around and note their significance in future. Well done to whoever made this possible.

Hi - Thanks for your lovely comments Marie. It was Jonathan Berg, author of the book Positively Birmingham who produced this during the firdt couple of weeks of Coronasvirus lock-down. When we all get let out again we will send you an invite for one of our real walkkng tours. In the meantime we are starting work next week on a second virtual tour of the city.

Hi - Thanks for taking the time to feedback and really pleased you liked our virutal tour of the city during the lock down. We have had a good response to our first virutal tour and if the lock down lasts another few weeks you never know we could produce another one!

HI - Very kind to feedback to us. The virtual tour is certainly popular but of course we are looking forward to reappearing on the streets for the real thing in due course. Keep safe - JB

Birmingham's Civic Centre renewed - stunning
Apr 2020
We took the self guided 'virtual' tour as Covid 19 led to our planned guided tour being cancelled. We were fascinated to see how the City has developed over recent months and in particular the interface between Chamberlain Square and Centenary Square. The additional information about the public art and Birmingham manufacturing added another dimension of interest. We look forward to seeing the progress at Symphony Hall and hope the Golden Boys statue will be back in place when Birmingham is ready to welcome visitors again.

Yes, so sorry that we had to cancel the tours for your group from Shropshire - just two of many bookings that we had to cancel - our walking tours were really taking off in 2020 until the Covid-19 regs qujiter likely stopped us in our tracks. Yes, we hope that the Golden Boys statue will come back soon as well. It helps us tell a fascinating story about the way Birmingham developed a medieval industry to come to dominate the world in Georgian and VIctorian times. We will be working on several more 'self-guided' tours which can also be used as Virtual tours in the coming weeks. However the fun will be when this difficult time is over and we can interact with people on the street again. Thanks so much for your review - so encouraging for us.

Really great tour of Birmingham. Such detailed information presented in an accessible format. Amazing that I can still learn things about a city I have lived in for over 28 years.

Positively Birmingham is clearly leading the way in bringing new technology and innovation to the Birmingham tourism industry. Crack on!!!

HIi - Great you like our new self-guided walking tour which during Covid-19 you have taken as a 'Virtual tour' from the safety of your own home! This is our first adventure into an interactive audio/video guided tour for use on you phone and it is hugely encouraging that you like it. We will be 'cracking on' with several more 'Virtual Tours' of the city centre of Birmingham in the next few months. We look forward to having you on tour again in the future - either virtually or indeed once the social distancing regs are lifted on one of our guide led tours.

Hi Thanks so much for taking our self-guided/virtual tour of a key part of Birmingham. As the first person to post a review it has been uplifting to hear howq positive you were about the audio - this we see as absolutely key when the tour is used as a self-guided experience. With Coronavirus we can see that even when self-isloation regulations are lifted that there will be a period where group activities will still be restricted. During this time a self-guided tour can enable people to get back into this amazing city without risking the spreas if big C! One day we do hope you will come on a live tour with us!
