Excellent afternoon of food and drink!
We received this as a wedding present and whilst living in leeds for a few years now still discovered some new places that we definitely will go back to. Ellen is a lovely and knowledgable host. Plenty to eat and drink, a truly wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Highly recommend as a local or a visitor!

Fab afternoon eating and drinking our way around Leeds!

We got this as a gift for Christmas and finally got round to booking nearly 2 years later. Wow we were not disappointed! Ellen was great and had great knowledge of the area and random food facts. We went to various different places all of which had a selection of food to sample. We loved it all and was so excited to find some hidden gems in Leeds. As someone who works in Leeds every day for the past 4 years, I had no idea some of these existed. Great afternoon out - cannot recommend enough!

Fab way to lose yourself in Leeds! Fully recommended!!

We received a "Local Food Tour of Leeds" as a Christmas gift from my sister but had not yet got around to booking. After contacting Ellen we decided to go for it, despite current Covid restrictions, and make our booking.

So last weekend we booked on for a Covid-safe afternoon of eating and knowledge - of course we didn't quite know what to expect but we were truly impressed with what the food tour included and where it took us - the depth of knowledge, the different venues and the food and drink selection were all amazing and not to be missed! Additionally might I add - for those who like me, find menu's quite arrghhh, it was sooooooooo good to not have to make decisions about what to eat and drink - Ellen's recommendations were well thought out and they hit the spot every time (well perhaps with the slight exception of one choice - I won't say what in case it spoils it for others!)!

We live in Leeds but never do anything like this, and the tour opened our eyes to a number of venues that we would never usually have considered - in fact we headed back to two that very afternoon! :-)

Ellen was so easy to get on with right from the moment we met up with her; and the afternoon was very leisurely - we never once felt rushed or hurried along, and her enthusiasm and passion for what she does was clearly in evidence every step of the way.

I will also add that her recommendations for "orange wine" was delicious (and I don't mind if I'm in the minority of those who like it!). Our l food tour quite literally opened our eyes to a wide range of different foods and venues and we would both thoroughly recommend.

In addition, the booking process was easy and Ellen's communication was timely, professional, friendly and reassuring in respect of any reservations you may have booking during the current Covid-19 restrictions.

Thank you to Ellen for making our afternoon a memorable one; and of course to my sister for the gift in the first place! For anyone out there considering whether to purchase this Food Tour or to make your own booking, I say DO IT, don't deliberate as you won't be disappointed!

Excellent afternoon of eating, drinking and exploring Leeds

I attended the local Leeds good tour with my colleagues. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to be around. We visited a large variety of venues and each offered something slightly different but were still able to cater for vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians (as well as those without dietary requirements) which meant that we all got value for money. I was introduced to many places that I will definitely be visiting again. An excellent afternoon - would highly recommend!

Fun, tasty and interesting way to explore Leeds
I was bought the tour as a Christmas present and didn’t really know what to expect so was a little apprehensive when I turned up at the meeting point. I shouldn’t have worried as I was about to be taken on a food adventure through Leeds with Nell as our confident, chatty and Informative guide. Me and my wife have lived in Leeds for well over 15 years and we both thought I knew it but with Nell as our guide we got to visit some great new places and look at the city with fresh eyes. My particular highlight was the visit to Leeds market which I hadn’t been to in years and where we were introduced to great stalls and some fantastic food and it was a bit of eye opener as to how much the market has improved and I will definitely be going back there. As well as the market we visited fantastic restaurants and pubs in Leeds that I will be visiting again at the first chance I get. A genuinely fun and interesting way to explore the city and it’s excellent independent food scene. I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic guide, wonderful food!

I booked the Leeds Food Tour whilst planning a weekend away in Leeds. Ellen is an excellent host, very friendly, engaging, and informative which made the experience a real pleasure.

We tried a range of locally sourced dishes across a variety of venues, each offering something different and certainly not places we would have found on our own.

It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and great value for money. We would love to try the Leeds Street Food Tour next time we stay in the area. Thanks.

Fabulous food, tour and host

Having lived in Leeds for 10 years I thought I'd seen it all, but Ellen's food tour really proved me wrong! The range of eateries visited offered a wide and varied assortment of food, and really showcased the independent businesses within the city.

As you start your tour, Ellen walks you through the city educating you on your surroundings and related historical facts on your way to the 1st venue. At each venue she discusses the food on offer, the relation to Leeds and let's you tuck in!

It's a very relaxed and friendly tour with no time pressures. Ellen is a great host and ensures everyone is comfortable and happy.

I left the tour having had just the right amount of food and drink and can't wait for the next one. Don't be put off if you're a Leeds resident, you'll certainly be surprised by what you don't know!
