Gareth’s knowledge of the history of wales and his ability to get that across in a way that’s so easy to understand is fantastic . To be able to relax throughout the whole experience without the worry of having to navigate an unknown area and maybe missing out on things because of rushing around is a huge weight to have taken of oneself. Hearing someone speak so passionately about something and being able to answer pretty much every question asked is everything I would hope for in a tour guide rather than the often robotic tour guides I have experienced on my travels . I cannot recommend tours of wales highly enough you have to experience one of the tours to really see for yourself what a refreshing and novel way it is to be able to be picked up in the morning and dropped off in the evening after a relaxing and educational day amongst some of the many outstanding places that wales has to offer . You will not be disappointed .

I and my family did the Gower tour with Gareth in Aug 2021 and it was a great day out. Gareth is very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable for the whole family - he gave us enough time, flexing around our needs, activities and things we like doing.
I would highly recommend this full day sight seeing tour - beautiful beaches, walks, hikes, trails, abbeys and waterfalls and the relishing Joe’s ice cream, Yum!!!
Thanks a ton Gareth for making our Wales trip so enjoyable and relaxing.

Gareth took us around Swansea bay area and he was very professional, punctual, friendly and accommodating. We spent a week in Wales and this was the highlight of our trip as Gareth took us to the beautiful areas around Swansea bay. Gareth is very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot during our trip. Thanks Gareth for the lovely day trip and for the delicious Welsh cakes. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

We very much enjoyed the tour and the sight visited, an excellent mixture of landscapes, seaside towns, beaches, historical buildings and to end with a wonderful walk in the woods and a waterfall view.

Gareth is very kind and has plenty of historical knowledge with references to ancient times. He’s friendly and he came to pick us up all the way to North Cardiff. Highly recommended

All in all, a great way to get out of the city and see some of the country with a local and a few fellow travelers. Gareth was on time for pickup and patient while we awaited latecomers. He gave us an idea of what to expect, the general itinerary and timeline, and we were on our way. His driving was safe and courteous. There was a change-up with the tourist office (?) and site tickets were not available for purchase online, but Gareth checked that out and in the end it was all okay for us to purchase tickets at each site (where applicable) upon arrival. All of the sites are self-guided tours and you can do as much or as little as you'd like. Be prepared for a lot of walking, uneven ground, winding staircases, and towering views. Lots of photo ops. Tintern Abbey had a beautiful setting. You'll think Chepstow Castle is fabulous, but Caerphilly Castle will amaze you more (beware the dragons). There was no rushing, but the per-stop time limits helped keep things moving. We were back in Cardiff around 4:30pm but it truly felt like a full day's experience. (Covid notes: We all chose to wear masks in the van; the sites we visited were about 50/50 masked (so much was out of doors anyway). Plenty of sanitizer stations provided at all but the amphitheater stop.)

Great tour! I’d never been to Wales but plan a return. Time at stops to pop into some shops and grab a pastry or two. Definitely planning to do another one of these if I get time before I return home. Also if you have lunch in Chepstow, go to Panevino Italian Restaurant, Gareth mentioned this, it’s absolutely delicious.

What an absolutely amazing tour! Thoroughly enjoyable and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide than Gareth. His knowledge of Wales and its history was exceptional, not only was the tour informative but also very funny . From the moment we booked the tour, Gareth made sure it was tailored to our needs and that all the places we wanted to see were included, along with a few excellent recommendations from Gareth himself.

If you want a tour which includes excellent history, well planned itinerary and an all round great day, I suggest you book Gareth.

Thank you Gareth, we hope to meet you again some time

My daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Gareth to the Gower Peninsula. On our drive there, Gareth provided a wealth of information on the region, its history and recent developments. We were exhilarated that we were able to explore so many breathtaking areas of the Gower Peninsula (via car and hiking). None of this would have been possible without Gareth’s expert knowledge! At the end of the day, Gareth also provided numerous suggestions for local trips which we could undertake on our own and which we are planning to do in the very near future(!). We made some wonderful memories on that day (who would have guessed that cloudy/rainy days can still be so much fun?) and we are definitely planning to book more trips with Gareth and further explore the natural beauty of South Wales.

My husband and I with our 2 children did this one day tour with Gareth. He picked us up at our aparment and during the journey he explained us a bit better the Welsh culture and history. All those places deserve a visit. My kids loved Cheapstow castle. It's the oldest castle and very surprising. Tintern Abbey has a magin atmosphere. We took lunch at the pub near to the Abbey: Gareth is very kind and it's a pleasure to hear his stories. I strong recommend this tour if you want to see beautiful places and get more into the Welsh habits.
