About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- thomasdV8719NJ0 contributionsBrilliant tour with the Other Ser DavosThis tour was a surprise 60th birthday trip for my wife, we are both GoT fans, so I arranged a private tour with Adrian. Adrian is really friendly and an excellent guide and having served as an extra on the series, and a stand in for Ser Davos, he gave us great insights to the series. We visited the studios, and then took two days to do the Winterfell tour south of Belfast and the Iron Islands tour north of Belfast. The tour was a great reason for seeing some stunning countryside including the Causeway coastal route, and we even managed to fit in a visit to the Giants Causeway. Adrian's use of still pictures and video clips of the scenes filmed at the various locations we visited was inspired, they really brought the locations alive for us. We had a bit of fun in role play with swords and costumes as well. we enjoyed a fabulous three days - many thanks Adrian !Written 12 November 2024
- Lizmazzo0 contributionsBrilliant Winterfell trek. A must for any Stark fan!Splashed out on Richard the Wilding’s private tour of the South for our son who is GoT obsessed! It was AMAZING. Richard is a genuine, beautiful human with the knowledge and experience of being an extra on the show. We gained a real insight into the making of GoT. The locations were particularly stunning with the autumn leaves. In addition to this he was open to sharing his own and that of his family’s experiences of growing up in Northern Ireland. He indulged our love of Van Morrison’s music too by sharing some stories, and our route took us through some of the places he sang about in ‘Coney Island’. We stopped for a delicious lunch and pint of Guinness in The Barn in Saul. We made some wonderful memories on this tour. Thank you Richard.Written 1 November 2024
- jeremysH4707SR0 contributionsA Memorable & Must Do with the Best! The entire process from pre-booking to finalizing the itinerary based off our personal situation was smooth and thorough. Richard was incredibly responsive and catered to our needs from pick up to drop off. He drove quite a distance to where we were staying at and dropped us off at a different location from that pick up, with our bags we flew with. For a couple, the Audi A6 was very comfortable in the back, there was a good amount of background music and information from Richard as we drove to our locations and for any restroom stops he was flexible. For all tour locations, Richard spent time with photos, a portable speaker and a tablet that portrayed the location we were in, the significance and how it was seen in real life compared to on film. In addition; he had props that added to the immersion, which was a topic he focused on greatly and made the tour much more engaging and memorable. We opted to do the Winterfell Trek which included 2x Treks which were about 90 min each, a visit to Inch Abbey, Winterfell Castle & Castle Ward, Tollymore Forest. We had a lunch break in the middle and had many photos taken by Richard at the stops; and wherever we wanted a photo Richard was there for us. The entire time Richard was mindful and engaging to us and everything felt safe and natural. He coined it a perfect way which we will end the review with, "It was like 3 friends hanging out to go see places" We highly recommend Richard and his Private Tour!Written 28 October 2024
- adrianmz20190 contributionsAmazing tour guyI want to start by saying that our tour guy was amazing. He was an extra on the show, he was very knowledgeable and funny; we tour on September 28th. Now, our original tour was the Winterfell Trek from Belfast but got cancel because that tour guy got sick. The company gave us three options: to move us to the Iron Islands & Giant's Causewway, to move us to the next week's tour, or to give us a full refund. We chose the first option; to fo the Iron Islands tour. My issue is that in the email it said we were gonna be offer wool Start cloaks and Iron Island costumes both, but once there, they only had the Iron Island costumes. I asked our tour guy and he said they only have the Iron Island costumes. My whole point on going into this tour was that I wanted a picture with those cloaks , and got nothing. We met the private tour guy at the Dark hedges and he had those cloak costumes but since we were not part of that tour (which is own by the same agency) we couldn't use them even we were promise we would have the option to. Again, the only reason I am giving 3 stars is because our tour guy was amazing and make the whole tour worth it.Written 14 October 2024

He made our day! the tour was so much fun, and we so enjoyed all the location and learning more about the Game of Thorns. He was funny, entertaining and a pleasure to be with. I recommend you taking his tour you won't be disappointed.Written 10 October 2024
- ElleEames0 contributionsAn Amazing Game of Thrones TourDo this tour. It was so cool. Not only do you get to see Game of Thrones shooting locations, but you also get to see lovely Ireland. Richard was a delight. It was extra special to get insight from an extra on the show. This made our day stress free and wonderful. We definitely want to come back and do the Winterfell trek. We did the Iron Islands route this time.Written 6 October 2024
- ladylee19790 contributionsGame of Thrones FanWhat a fantastic way to visit all the filming locations plus the Giants Causeway this is a full day 7am to 5pm approx and well worth the money top marks for the driver navigating those steep hills lol and the guide was so knowledgeable with a few hidden secrets from the show all i would say is there is extra cost on top of the trip eg your pub meal is not inc and then you have your parking for the day which is extra the tour did feel rushed eg 90 mins or so to get down to the giants causeway take a few pics and get back up top on a very slow electric bus lol which is extra cost and gutted the castle stop wasn't inc for a look around so final thoughts great way to see everything and well worth the money however if your wanting more time to explore then your best taking yourself thanks again to the tour guide and driver :) a bit of walking involved so if you struggle be mindful xWritten 2 October 2024
- O1852WAjp0 contributionsRichard from the Game of Thrones private tour was amazing! This tour exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a long day but well worth it. Richard was an extra on the movie and does an amazing job of showing you all the sights and all about the Game of Thrones scenery and scenes. We saw so many beautiful sights and the coastline was so beautiful! We stopped for lunch at a really fun pub with good food and had a fantastic time. Richard was professional but so friendly and knowledgeable about Northern Ireland and Game of Thrones movie trivia and made it so fun! Thanks Richard!Written 1 October 2024
- 938marcos200 contributionsA Truly Unforgettable Game of Thrones Birthday Weekend!I had planned a full Game of Thrones-themed weekend in Belfast to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, as she’s a huge fan of the show. The highlight was supposed to be the Winterfell Trek tour, but two days before the tour, I received an email from Rob at Game of Thrones Tours informing us that the guide was ill and the tour had to be canceled. He offered two alternative options—another Game of Thrones bus tour or a similar experience starting from Dublin. However, after I shared that the entire weekend was centered around Game of Thrones and that it was my girlfriend’s birthday, Rob went above and beyond by offering us a private tour! This incredible gesture completely turned the situation around and made our weekend even more special. The next day, we were picked up by Richard the Wildling in his Audi A6, and after discussing our options, we decided to head north to explore not only Game of Thrones filming locations but also the stunning natural beauty of Northern Ireland. We visited iconic spots like the Giant’s Causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, and many other breathtaking locations that I didn’t even know were part of the itinerary. Richard’s knowledge of the show and the local area was unmatched. My girlfriend was beyond thrilled, especially getting to see not just the filming locations but also the incredible landscapes of Ireland. Richard gave us all the time we needed to explore each location, take photos, and truly experience the magic of both the show and the Irish countryside. It felt like we had the best of both worlds—a personalized Game of Thrones tour and a scenic adventure through some of the most beautiful spots in Northern Ireland. The fact that Rob and Richard arranged this private experience because it was my girlfriend’s birthday, speaks volumes about their customer service. They turned what could have been a letdown into an unforgettable experience that made the weekend absolutely perfect. If you’re considering a Game of Thrones tour, I can't recommend them enough. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and we’re already looking forward to returning for another adventure. Thank you so much to Rob, Richard, and the entire team for an amazing day!Written 29 September 2024
- ViknRich0 contributionsThe best GOTs TourThere are lots of companies that offer what they may call Game of Thrones tours but none of them offer a real life Wilding extra to escort you as GOTs Tours do. We went on a private tour with Richard and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. His knowledge and passion for the show really shone through. We visited some stunning locations that were put into context with the aid of visuals and storytelling. We were always a jump ahead of the other coaches so got some fabulous photos without hundreds of other people in them, these guys really know what they are doing.Written 27 September 2024

Robby(who was an extra on GoT and got to stand next to Stannis "The Mannis" Baratheon) was an incredible tour guide with lots of knowledge of the material and had a joyful attitude the whole tour. It will be hard for any future GOT tour to top this day and tour. Robbie, who has amazing stories to share (loved his endless dying in an episode story) and fun facts behind the scene. The castles and walks and scenery was stunning and u can totally understand why these locations have been choosen as the world of GOT. One highlight after another (no spoilers here)!
Gladly we booked this trip as the tourguide for the Iron Islands was a no show but Robbie managed it all professionally and we picked up some of the stranded people. Fantastic tour and guide. He may need his own lil thrown!

Our family of five from America (all GoT fans) loved this tour. Our guide, Lar, was an extra on the show, and an engaging and entertaining guide for the day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. He was detailed in what happened at each stop (even showing us the scenes via iPad) and was great about taking loads of photos.
I highly recommend this tour if you are a lover of the show and want to do a deep dive. Every place we went was beautiful - wonderful way to spend the day.

First of all, the service was amazing, we missed the bus pick up, but once we contacted them they made everything in their power to help us meet them without compromising their itinerary and we actually managed to get to them!
We were really excited to experience this tour after reading all the glowing recommendations and every little bit was true.
The places we visited are breathtakingly beautiful and the hikes were pretty easy to get through.
The nicest part was having a native Irish person who was also an extra on the show guiding us through it all, giving us glimpses of how it really was like and all these fun stories and curiosities about the show.
The whole day was interesting and full of great sceneries, very fun!
Thank you to the team for helping us get this experience, the guide for being so energetic and full of stories all the way through and our wonderfully skilled driver for driving safely through the tightest little gates 😱

Let's start with the tour. I did both the Winterfell and Iron Islands tours and both were equally brilliant. Guided by actual extras from the show, they not only pointed out popular film sites from the show, but the background info on their experiences in helping make the show took the tour to a whole new level. Richard (guide for Iron Islands) and Andrew and Lar (guides for Winterfell) kept us entertained the entire time. They provided insight into the show as well as Irish culture in between stops and helped everyone have the best experience possible. You could easily tell they enjoyed their job guiding us through the Game of Thrones realm. They gave us cloaks, swords and shields for great photos, took photos of us with their cameras as well as our own cameras and even shared the photos they had taken on their own phones with us!
Personally, I had a few problems getting these tours done (through NO fault of the company or it's employees). I had signed up for both tours. The day before I flew from the States, I got an e-mail from Rob the Tour Director saying that my guide for the Saturday Winterfell tour tested positive for Covid. He gave me several options to choose from (including a full refund, but I chose to reverse the tours I had signed up for and go to the Iron Islands on Saturday and Winterfell on Wednesday. The Saturday tour was great as expected and even included the Giant's Causeway as well as the GoT sights. On Wednesday, the weather forecast didn't look good for us (Hurricane Agnes remnants), but the tour van showed up as scheduled and off we went. We got through the morning portion (Castle Ward/ Inch Abbey) without a problem, but by lunch we were informed that due to high winds, Tollymore Forest was closed. Richard told us that Director Rob would refund us for half the cost that we were unable to complete. They took us back to Belfast and I contacted Rob to see if I could catch the Saturday Winterfell tour so I could complete it rather than get my refund. The Winterfell tour out of Belfast was booked full, but he told me a way I could catch their Winterfell tour out of Dublin that same day! Although it took three tries, Rob went out off his way to ensure that I could complete both tours I had booked!
I NEVER expected to see customer service like that ever in my lifetime! Most companies would simply say something like " Sorry, it's out of our control", keep the cash and wave good-bye. Not this company! As great as the tour was, it was the director, the guides and even the drivers that I will remember most! They all went out of their way to give their customers the best experience possible - even at their own expense! I cannot speak highly enough for this company, it's service and the incredible tours that they offer.

This was our secong Game of thrones tour we have done first doingvthe excellent Iron islands tour 3 years ago, we were picked up at 8am by our minibus driver Paul and welcomed by the legendary Andrew McClay who was an extra in Game of thrones and whos knoledge on the show is inexhaustible.
Our 1st stop was the ruins of Inch abbey where Robb Stark was crowned king in the north, swords and cloaks were handed out here too.
Then onto Castle Ward used as the set of Winterfell in season 1, this stop included a walk to some more key scene filiming locations also.
We then had a delicious lunch at the Lobster pot pub in Strangford before setting off to Tollymore forest the scene of where Will finds a Wildling camp beyond the wall laid waste by White walkers and also the bridge where the Starks find the Direwolf pups.
I really cannot praise this tour and the Iron Islands tour enough which we did the same week again, excellent value for money and a must for any GoT fan.

We took the Winterfell Tour and the Iron Island Tours on successive days this week and they were brilliant. The guides, Robbie and Brian, were brilliant, friendly, knowledgable and engaging - they used scene cards to describe the locations and relate it to the show, which made it fascinating to see the differences between reality and what's on screen. Their inside knowledge made a huge difference. Ok, so it's aimed at GoT fans but their local knowledge would make it equally enjoyable for anyone who hasn't seen the show. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Hello Foxcub,
Thank you for the fantastic review, thank you for taking both tours from Belfast and thank you for sharing your tour photos with us. The Ironborn photo with the waves crashing in the background is epic! Brian and Robbie will be delighted to hear you enjoyed touring Westeros with them. We really appreciate the recommendation that the tours would also suit non fans too, hopefully this help help anyone who's not to sure about a Game of Thrones themed tour to join us!

Robbie was the best guide you could ask for. He was an extra on the set, died 9 times during the filming, is an avid archer, and is an expert on all things GOT. He spent weeks wandering through the woods and re-watching the shows to find exactly the right locations were so much was filmed. He was chock full of trivia and interesting stories and his enthusiasm was infectious. He showed relevant video clips and photos from the show along the way and we also had a great time dressing up in costume and playing with the props for some great photos. We had such fun.

Hi Rumskys,
Thanks for this great review for our Winterfell Trek from Belfast with our resident champion archer Robbie! He was on both sides of the Battle of Blackwater and was killed by both sides, which is a hilarious story :) Next time you are back in Belfast, check out our Iron Islands & Giant's Causeway tour. We hope to see you again! ⚔️🙏⚔️

Our tour guide Robbie’s enthusiasm and passion for giving out behind-the-scene stories was tangible and contagious!
We couldn’t have asked for a better time as we visited various key locations such as Winterfell and Robb’s Camp. Our last stop was at Tollymore Forest Park which we learned is a popular filming location for other shows and movies, including 2023’s Dungeons and Dragons!
It was especially helpful that Robbie showed us various clips from different episodes to reflect the locations we were going to visit as they definitely helped us visualise the shots taken when filming those clips.
The last stop definitely involves a lot of trekking and it rained a bit too so I highly recommend wearing suitable walking shoes / shoes with a good grip to avoid slipping.
Thanks Robbie and Trevor (driver)!

Had the most spectacular day with Richard exploring some iconic places from the show. Absolutely cannot recommend this tour company highly enough-had such fun and they were so helpful/accommodating. Even if you aren’t the biggest GOT fan, the scenic views and authentic storytelling make it so worth the trip if you’re looking to try something unique.

The Winterfell tour with Andrew was brilliant, he was very informative and good fun throughout the whole tour. The fact he was an extra on GOT was an added bonus as we didn't expect the guide to have so much "inside knowledge" or experience of the sets and the filming. Andrews little anecdotes from filming were very funny and allowed us to feel like we were getting a more in depth experience. Andrews passion for GOT really came across throughout the tour. We really liked the photos and examples of where green screen was used and then being able to flip the photo and see the finished product with the CGI. The tour was really well run and organised. The added bonuses and little surprises along the way were great also, I won't list them here as I don't want to spoil the tour for anyone thinking of booking it. Previous to the tour we thought about driving the Iron Islands tour locations ourselves, but after the Winterfell your we will definitely book the Iron Islands tour through Game of Thrones Tours having seen how well structured, informative and fun it is!

Wow, what an epic review! We're delighted you had such a great time hanging out with Andrew, he's such a great story teller and entertainer. Ser Aberdall Strongbeard is a legend! Combine those on set stories with real locations and you've an experience you will never forget.

Hi Marionnette,
Thank you for your question! We do have a student rate, £50 per adult, £45 per student with valid student ID. If you go directly to our website you will find it there. Apologies for the inconvenience, but it is due to the way TripAdvisor insists businesses list their tour products.

Hi, I was wondering what the fitness level is needed for these tours? I would love to bring my father he is a big GOT fan but not if its constant hiking. How long do the tours last in total? Thanks for your time.

Hi Ashley,
All of our tours are full day tours starting at 7.30, 8.00 & 8.30 am and finishing at 5.30, 6.00 & 7.30 pm. Our tours while we drive to locations on a coach are primarily walking tours that include up to 6 kilometres of trekking. The treks are divided up into smaller portions but will include rough terrain, steep hills, gravel paths, muddy forest trails and stony beaches. Our tours are very physical and most visitors finish each tour exhausted but happy. Our tours are unsuitable for anyone who has mobility issues or serious health issues.
We hope this answers your question. Please email us directly if you'd like more detailed information on a specific tour.

Hello, how many spots are available for 10/2? I’d really like to do both of the Belfast tours. I had the other one switched from 10/3 to 10/2 :(. Is there any chance I can make this work so I can do both tours? I’m in Ireland from 9/29-10/5. Thanks.

I am booking 2 nights at the Winds of Winter Cottage and would like to take 2 different GOT tours during that time. I will be coming from Dublin.
Will it be easy to get from the GOT tours to this location?
Written 10 September 2019
Hi Wanda,
In order to both of our tours you will need to be able to get to Jurys Inn Hotel, Great Victoria Street, Belfast.
Based on a quick Google search, we're assuming the Winds of Winter cottage is located at Mount Stewart House, from that location to Belfast takes approximately 40 minutes by car.
If you would like to discuss further options please email us directly, info @ game of thrones tours. com

I am on a cruise ship that docks in Belfast at 8am on Monday, June 15, 2020. This tour is scheduled to leave at 8:30am from from Jurys Inn. I saw that a taxi ride is about 10-15 minutes. I should have just enough time to get off the ship for my tour, but just in case I am running a few minutes behind, will the shuttle wait for me?
If not, what are my other options? It seems as if this tour is the ONLY Monday Game of Thrones tour.
Additionallly, I noticed that this tour does not guarantee a Direwolves experience. Are there other Monday Game of Thrones tours that offer this experience?
Sincerely,
Jason

Hi Cosstal
I think we've answered these questions for you via email already.
For anyone else reading: our coaches can wait a maximum of 5 minutes for late arrivals. After that they have to leave as they are on a schedule with appointments at locations for specific times.
If you really want to do the tour and know you won't make it to meet our coach on time, the next option is to take a taxi to the first meeting point. We recommend emailing us for specific details if this is the case (location info, timings, where to meet our guide, taxi costs etc)
As for Direwolves..... ssssshhhhh.... it's a surprise ;-)

Question:
Hello, thank you for your responses. Please tell me how many GOT tours leave from Belfast? Please also tell me which ones they are, their names, so that I can be sure to reserve them. I don’t want to miss anything.
Lastly, if I choose more than one GOT tour, will already visited locations be repeated? How would one tour be unique from the other? Thank You!
