- Sean k0 contributionsAmazing ExperienceWhat a fantastic experience with a fantastic driver call Thomas if that was his name 😂😂. This really is a must do tour there are other companies doing them but Cab Tours Belfast is the best. We were shown and told all about the troubles which was very sad Thomas was so knowledgeable and gave a brilliant account of how it was from both sides. He was very friendly professional and explained everything so well made us feel so comfortable and relaxed nothing was too much trouble. This was the highlight to our 5 night trip to Belfast and Belfast is a fantastic city we had a great time and looking forward to the next time.Written 18 March 2025

- G7121VKmaryk0 contributionsA must do tourOur driver Kieran was just exceptional with his vast knowledge and insights into living during and after the troubles. From entering the cab, our attention was focused on everything that he said. We also visited the Crumlin Road Gaol which was brilliant, well worth seeing. Our son told us before we went to Belfast, if we did nothing else, that we should take the black cab tour around the streets of the city. He was so right. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast for the first time 100%.Written 13 January 2025

Brian was so friendly and explained the history in a fascinating & intriguing way. He was always happy to answer any questions & explain in more detail when needed. We really felt we got a true grasp of the history of Belfast through Brian’s first hand experience & personal notes to the tour. We highly recommend the Tour group and Brian the fabulous driver. 10/10Written 22 December 2024

- TracyH04250 contributionsDon’t think, just do.We did the Crumlin Gaol and Black Cab Tour package. Stevie was our driver and guide. We arrived early for our tour but Stevie was already there. We had a warm welcome from Stevie. The car was a Mercedes van. The car was warm, clean, and comfortable. Easy to get in and out of with the sliding door. Stevie is a knowledgeable guide. He expertly navigated to each stop and gave us the background before getting out of the van to view the stop. He took photos for us. Stevie encouraged us to ask questions. So ask anything. Stevie was open to answer any questions about the history and the conflicts. Without giving too much away or the spoilers, the tour was enlightening. This tour is worth your time. If you want to learn about Belfast, its history, and how the conflicts shaped the modern day Belfast, do this tour. Thank you Stevie for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.Written 28 November 2024

A must do activity as early as practical within your Belfast itinerary as it lays the foundation of cultural understanding post 60s period. Our driver was outstanding, his humour, personal experience and historical knowledge combined for a very educational and enjoyable experience.
Following this tour we visited the Titanic museum which furthered the historical aspects pre 60s.

Arranged to be picked up from the airport and taken directly to Giants Causeway. Phned Danny when we landed and he was there bang on time outside waiting for us. What an absolute star Danny is so friendly helpful and knowledgable catered for all our needs and even surprised us with a hamper to see us through the day. On returning to the hotel arranged to be picked up at 11 the following morning to do the historical Shankhill road tour. Again what a brilliant guide Danny is gave us a proper insight from both sides of the divide whilst continually making sure we were happy and safe. Honestly learnt so many things I never knew. Cannot recommend Belfast Cab Tours highly enough and if you are lucky enough to get Danny as your guide the trip will be even more enjoyable than you hoped.

Stevie was our driver and he was absolutely incredible. I would absolutely recommend him and this tour. I thought I knew a lot about the history but he taught me so much more. His information was timely, relevant, and on point. He was a captivating storyteller and did a great job bringing all of us into the story and making history come alive for us. I wasn’t too sure about taking this tour but a friend was really excited about it. I am so glad I did, it was worth every penny and I would recommend Stevie by name to anyone heading to the Belfast area.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to gain some insight into the Troubles and the impact on the people of Northern Ireland. Our tour guide Stevie was able to share his personal experiences in a dynamic and informative way, bringing events to life as he described how he was personally affected. I was most impressed with his unbiased presentation and his handling of extremely sensitive topics. The entire family enjoyed and appreciated the experience.

Have been to Belfast many times but first time we went on the cab tour around Belfast. Thomás our tour guide was brilliant and explained all about the troubles in Belfast with such interest that the tour went by so quickly and could have spent the day listening to all of his stories from the troubles. Thomás was so friendly and humorous throughout the tour. The tour was completely unbiased. I would highly recommend everyone visiting Belfast to take the tour to get a first hand account of what it was like in Belfast in the troubles and growing up in that time. Thank you to Thomás for our fantastic tour Jennie

This tour was about 90 minutes and the guide picked us up at our hotel in the city center. We were alone in the cab, with no other guests which was ideal. He was able to explain the history very clearly and his presentation expressed the losses on both sides of the conflict. Understanding the history will help you have a greater appreciation of present day Belfast.
There is a lot of imagery in the murals that he explained and that really made them come to life for us.
The gates separating these neighborhoods still close every night at 7pm. Seeing that firsthand really made an impact on us both as well as the heartbreaking memorial gardens.

Magnificent, historical gem of a tour from the affable and extremely knowledgeable Martin. Starting off with a contextualized overview - the Ulster plantations, the Dutch Protestant King William of Orange and his victory over Catholic King James at the 1690 Battle of the Boyne, the founding of Northern Ireland in 1921, the struggle for civil rights by Catholics in the 1960s, the Troubles Starting in 1969 - the burning of Bombay Street, the Provisional IRA, Ulster loyalists, role of the British Army, peace process, 1998 Good Friday Agreement, peace wall separators etc etc.
A fantastic must-see experience, easily the highlight of our Belfast stay. This is in a city of lovely cuisine, friendly locals and hopeful future.
The tour is very reasonably priced and far superior to the red city open bus tours.
A new 3 hour tour taking in Queens University Belfast (The starting point for a seminal 1969 civil rights march to Derry/Londonderry) is to start soon.
Martin was impartial, humorous and an encyclopedia of facts, anecdotes and balanced perspective. Don't miss it !

Arrived in Belfast for a 3 day break we had an idea of what we wanted to do whilst here and seeing the famous murals was one of them, We booked a Black Cab Tour which included a tour of Crumlin Gaol afterwards. I can honestly say that this is by far one of the best tours I’ve ever taken, our guide was Pody and he was just brilliant I could have listened to him all day long. He was so engaging and gave a very unbiased explanation of the history and of the reasons behind the troubles. Myself, my husband and our friends were all moved by the history of it all and came away with a very different perspective than when we started the tour. Pody gave us lots of opportunity to ask questions and was also happy to explain further when we didn’t quite grasp the relevance of something. The Tour lasted for 2 hours but I think we could’ve happily stayed for double that time. I would definitely recommend anyone to book a tour with these guys you won’t be disappointed - the only negative I can give is that it wasn’t long enough but that’s purely because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks to Pody for giving us something to think about and changing our perspectives of the troubles and of what people had to live through 😊

Our driver Thomas was one of the owners. He was an excellent guide. He gave a very informative tour which clearly explained the what and why of the "troubles" without favour or bias to either side. He cleverly made us figure out for ourselves the answers to some challenging questions without once offering opinions of his own .

Recently Took this tour and I wasn't disappointed. Pick up is located in the city centre where we then were taken by Danny L on a 90 minute tour of history and heartache. Danny was a wonderful guide, He has A great sense of humour and is a really informative guide. Brought to all the major sights on both sides of the divide. In depth explanation on both sides from a man that's lived through it. Would highly recommend.

I’m certain there’s an extra charge - if the facility is available. The pick up is in central Belfast, but as a previous commentator said we were met at Crumlin road gaol for our tour. We also continued onto the gaol tour after - which is separate but also worth a visit.

Mine was £60 I was a solo.traveller but two people could off went. Best black taxi I used. With tour guide stevie. It's definitely well worth doing it. I booked mine on the app with zilch. You can also go into the tour centre were you can book cheaper options some were £45. So much information going on one of these cab tours I want to take my son over next year as I absolutely loved hearing all the information seeing the peace wall and all the murals Bobby Sands one up close all the history behind everything and seeing how far the country has come to gain peace. I'd also recommend the bus tours the hoo to new hoo off. Set outo as early as possible as it's definitely a full day if nor two as these so much information. Plus go into the city hall there is a lot off information in there as well.

Hi it’s great people taking photos of murals and seeing Belfast but do they realise the killings and bombing that are behind them such we had to live in they might want a photo but should think of the innocence people that was killed along with children and babies just look behind the picture
Written 18 February 2020
We are very aware of the history and our driver was honest in his telling of all the fighting and loss of life. My husband’s parents were born not far from Belfast. We thought it important to see the area in person to further our knowledge of the history. I felt the tour was respectful and honest.

we are coming off a cruise ship in May for 5 hours and would like to do a two hour tour
will they pick us up at the dock for a tour? and what is the extra charge there are 2 possibly four of us
Written 21 November 2019
We stayed in the city centre so there was no extra charges, you can put in the request when you write to them, they will tell you the charges, at the end of our tour we requested that they sent us to the titanic quarter , they charged an extra of 5 pounds per cab.
Written 22 November 2019
During the tour, do we stop at the murals to get a better look. My husband would like to take pictures, is this possible?
Written 10 September 2019
Absolutely! Just tell the driver before hand that you want to take pictures during your tour and he will make sure he gets you to the best spots.
