    Hillsborough Castle and Gardens
    Stop: 3 hours - Admission excluded
    Built in the 1770s by Wills Hill, first Marquis of Downshire, the house was later remodelled in the 19th and early 20th century. It is now a working royal palace and has been the home of the Secretary of State since the 1970s. Wander through a hundred acres of beautiful gardens, developed from the 1760s onwards. Offering a contrast of ornamental grounds, peaceful woodlands, waterways, and trimmed lawns.

12 days of Christmas Tour

This was a great tour. Everyone was in costume and played their parts well while telling us about the castle and also allowing us to look for the 12 different trees. Some of the program is very funny and yet you can see the history of the place. I would have liked longer to study the artifacts, but since it is still in use by the Royals, it is not a surprise that you have to be guided carefully through each place The gardens and grounds are magnificent and the cafe is very good. Definitely well worth a visit!
