Perfect!!!!!!!!!! The Best Tours We Have Ever Experienced
For the past two weeks we have been on a cruise through the British Isles. It was the best cruise we have ever taken because our travel agent arranged for private tours for us at 5 different ports through Braw Scottish Tours. It was the best experience we ever had; the guides were extremely knowledgeable and just fun to be with. They couldn’t do enough for us and were so reliable. If your going to the British Isles get private tours through Braw, you won’t be sorry. We visited Guernsey, Dublin, Glasgow, Invergorden and Edinburgh and came home with great pictures and fond memories.

A custom guided professional driving tour of Scotland. FULL OF WONDER!!!
My husband and I arranged through Braw Scottish tours a six day customized all-encompassing introduction to Scotland. The owner John is the quintessential organizer of a rich full experience. He called upon another driver and Blue Badge Guide to greet my husband and me in Edinburg at which point we began our explorations. The first three days took us to Outlander sites, castles, distilleries and gorgeous historic sites. These women met our every need down to capturing terrific photos of all explorations. They listened to our preferences and delivered us to amazing Scottish heritage locations, including to my Clan McFarlane's earliest locations. Our second three days were spent escorted by John, (Owner and guide)a terrific organizer of maximizing our activities... distilleries, sheep dog herding, clay pigeon shooting, visiting many Outlander points of interest, Culloden Battlefield with expert insights. He introduced us to the House of Bruar (quintessential shopping!) He'd make recommendations, but always considered our preferences. His hotel suggestion of the Craigellachie was spot on for us. (Loved this hotel's pastoral setting, food, historical surroundings, and character). John was particularly attentive to my Outlander curiosities, and even purchased a bee lapel pin, significant if you follow Outlander. He made reservations and accompanied us to the distilleries that we wanted and added his own recommendations which were grand. John is fun loving and entertaining. HIs employees for the first three days equaled his spirit of adventure and were entertaining. How grand it was to leave the driving to them, and introduce us to the many of the wonders of Scotland.

If you are short of time, look no further, this is the guide and trip you want, otherwise continue reading for the many reasons to follow. John is an extraordinary guide with a wealth of knowledge and easy going good humored personality. He's an excellent driver, which you will come to realise is quite important. He's flexible and constantly readjusts itineraries as he comes to know his clients. We saw about 2 weeks of Scotland in 6 days. He knows all the secret spots to show you the real Scotland and it's glorious. I give him my very highest rating and thanks for a tremendously enjoyable vacation.

Private Tour Invergorden Cruise Port
We had big plans for our one day in this area and wanted to do alot! Our driver Doug made sure we did everything we asked for with some extra stops for things we didn't even know we wanted to see! He was eating for us when we got off the ship and our day was perfect! He was delightful, full of information about the area and made sure we had a fantastic day!

I couldn’t possibly say enough positive things about John (the owner and guide/companion for 6 days). I was traveling with a friend and he spoke to us ahead of time to identify the perfect trip for us. From being greeted at the train station, to saying goodbye at the end, John was constantly astute to adjusting what we would be happiest doing, exploring, eating, etc. John always has a smile, knows Scotland like the back of his hand, constantly regales you with fun and historical stories, and knows the best and coolest places to stay and eat. Never have I had such a relaxed and fun tour experience in addition to leaving it feeling I’ve made a new friend. Braw Scottish Tours is an incredible touring company!

Wonderful Personalized Tour of the Scottish Highlands
My wife and I spent over a week with John crossing the Highlands. His ability to customize a tour to your individual needs is a result of his extensive knowledge of Scotland. We had a wonderful time touring with him and getting a locals perspective rather than traveling in a large group. We look forward to returning soon. John was the best!

Wonderful trips all over Scotland
We just completed our second tour in Scotland (this time to Ayrshire, Arran and Mull, to Glencoe, Skye and Inverness) with Braw tours and are now planning our third—there is so much to see and do. The time just flew by, because we had such a great time, the trip was so easy and it fit exactly what we wanted. It is most important to us that our driver/guide be safe, calm and professional, but it makes all the difference when congeniality, humor and a real love of showing off Scotland are part of the mix. After that, it is critical that our tour follow our personal preferences, interests and pacing. An ideal driver/guide anticipates our rhythms. Our guide was all of this, as well as intimately acquainted with the broch just down the road, the hidden waterfalls and pools, the hikes and walks that are not only scenic but fit our level of difficulty, the small road just off the main route for the best view point for photos, the small town museum and where to have lunch nearby after visiting a castle, taking into account the kind of food we prefer. Even though we had planned the general outlines of each day, we preferred to decide from among the many options and suggestions the night before and day of, because you cannot really understand how you will feel from far away and months ahead. We became really confident that our guide always had an idea that would work for us. No problem, no worries. Totally flexible. We collaborated every day on how to make that day special, so it is important that as a traveler you are open and let your guide know, because this is welcomed and makes their job easier. Even if you simply want to enjoy your hotel for a while longer or walk about the town alone. This is the essence of personal service, and whenever we were done, whether we had spent a little time or a lot, our guide was always there as soon as we were ready to move on. When you are with a guide on tour, it’s vital that he/she is congenial, fun and easy to work with, and this was the case from planning our tour through adjusting our schedule on the fly. We have done a lot of touring with a lot of drivers and guides and we know what good value for our money means. We can tell the difference between someone who really has time for us and an agent for whom we are just the next booking. We are back to Italy in 2020, but 2021 will see us return to Scotland for a third time with Braw. We even began shaping our ideas for that trip during our current tour—this time covering a different part of Scotland while revisiting some favorites in even more depth. FYI: I only post reviews of positive experiences, restaurants, hotels and tours to point fellow travelers where I have real confidence, and to be fair—as one never knows if a bad experience is just a one off.

Specialized attention
My husband and I met John (owner) through a travel agency. While our travel agency had planned a tour itinerary for us, John quickly assessed that it was not a good match for our interests and he totally re-planned our itinerary in consultation with us. We traveled from Edinburgh up through Culloden and around to Glasgow. The sites were intriguing and the scenery was gorgeous. Bring a camera and walking shoes that can stand up to damp/wet conditions. Our time with John was an enormous success because • he took the time to get to know us • he has deep and broad knowledge of sightseeing in Scotland; • and he took special care to accommodate the special needs of my husband with respect and compassion. This special care included the timing for different sightseeing venues; finding wheelchairs, etc., for long walks; and music to play in the car. I cannot begin to adequately sing the praises of John as an informed tour guide, a competent driver, and a thoughtful companion. We both had a wonderful time in John’s company and look forward to a return visit to Scotland with John in 2020.

Amazing Bespoke Tour of Scotland
There are not enough wonderful adjectives to describe our trip to Scotland or John. John made sure my mom and I were well taken care of and adjusted itineraries as he learned more about our interests. When John learned I was a Harry Potter and Downton Abbey fan he made sure to include some stops that related to them. He was a great sport from helping me collect rocks to circling back so I could get the perfect picture to wandering cemeteries to look for long deceased relatives. John picked spots off the beaten path to enjoy lunch and dinner. Picked out some great distilleries and introduced me to Scottish hot chocolate which for the most part is melted dark chocolate with a shot of Scotch in it -- delightful! We also did some great shopping thanks to John making a couple of unexpected stops which he fit masterfully into the schedule. John is prompt, professional, knowledgeable and kind. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him or his travel agency. I will certainly use his services again and thanks to his wonderful care may never be able to do anything other than a private tour again.

One-day tour of the Highlands
We had booked a tour with another group, but our tour guide was called away and asked John to take care of us in his place. We were not disappointed. John drove us to several great spots north of Edinburgh, chatted us up along the way, and provided us with group photos and a link to an animated map of our journey as a nice memento. We had a nice tour of a whisky distillery, took in a castle, some lovely views, and had a nice lunch in an old pub. Recommended!

A great private tour of Scotland's Highlands and Islands with Braw Scottish Tours
We used John as our private tour guide and driver on a recent trip to Scotland. We visited the Highlands, Skye, and Lewis and Harris and had an amazing time largely due to his attention to detail. John and Braw Scottish Tours took great pride in making sure we had a first class experience for our entire journey. They made sure we had great accommodations, food, and even tailored stops along the way to our interests. John is professional, knowledgeable, and witty and I wholeheartedly recommend him and will use him again. We are already planning our next trip.

Tour of Western Scotland with Braw Scottish Tours
Touring Scotland with John of Braw Scottish Tours is the best way to see Scotland! This is a private driver/guide which was so nice for my husband and I and so stress free! We did a half day trip with John to Roslyn Chapel while we were in Edinburgh and not only saw the Chapel but everything in-between! Then we traveled with John to Isle of Skye where he perfectly planned out our day so that we saw everything but learned so much. After Skye, we spent two days in the Western Highlands and again, we were very flexible and left everything up to John which means we saw and learned so much. John is extremely professional and with him, it was the most stress free vacation we ever had. There is no doubt we will return to Scotland and no doubt we will arrange our time with Braw Scottish Tours.
