- andreamF6800GY0 contributionsChris is a great local tour guideHi, We just came back from our day trip with Chris as tour guide. Chris is a great local guide with a lot of knowledge whats going on in and around Aberdeen as well as Scotland. We also enjoyed the traditional scottish music he was playing on the bus, while he was driving safely at all times. He was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. Once again, thanks Chris for the great day, it was a pleasure!Written 14 December 2024

- JFD11110 contributionsLoch Ness and highland tourOur driver/guide Chris was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the area and the history. He kept to schedule and was always considerate to the needs of the party. He also kept us entertained with local music artists and some truly terrible jokes. I would strongly recommend this trip.Written 28 November 2024
- bmartin940 contributionsTop-notch companyRabbie’s is an excellent tour company. My wife and I did their week-long Outer Hebrides and Skye tour about five years ago, so the North East Coastal Trail day tour was my second experience with them. They are top-notch in terms of professionalism, knowledge, logistical execution, etc. This particular tour was great for scenery, outdoors, light walking, and small town visits. If I had more time in Scotland (and could plan far enough ahead), I would do many of their other tours as well.Written 13 November 2024

- 380sallyb0 contributionsNorthern Ireland DiscoveredJust finished a wonderful tour of Northern Ireland with Royal Irish Tours. Our tour guide, John Stokes, was a masterful story teller and his knowledge of Irish history was superlative. He kept us engaged and enlightened. Saw everything that we wanted to and so much more. Thank you John and thank you RIT for a wonderful journey through the country of our grandfathers birth.Written 11 October 2024

- U2664NHandreww0 contributionsBrilliant Tour - Recommend to EveryoneAbsolutely brilliant tour. Neil was our driver and guide, a very knowledgeable, funny and pleasant person. A perfect blend and balance of stories, commentary on history and music. Ample stops in the small highland towns for a quick coffee or pastry and of course a bathroom break. The weather was perfectly clear and warm which was an added bonus. The bus was clean, showed up on time and was comfortable. The Loch Ness visit and boat ride was great, definitely take the one-hour boat tour if you go. Suggest you bring snacks and drinks along if you can. You can have lunch at two of the stops, Culloden and Loch Ness. We chose to have lunch in Culloden, however there was not much time to visit the battlefield and adequately see the museum. So, we were rushed there, but our choice as we chose to eat. If you bring some food with you, you can eat throughout the trip. The are many winding roads, so if you get motion or car sickness, bear that in mind. One passenger on our trip sat at the back of the bus and had to move forward because of that. Overall, an awesome tour. Rabbie's is a great tour company, very professional. There are many more stops than shown on the website, so was very happy about that. Thank you, Neil, for an awesome time. Truly appreciated.Written 18 September 2024
- CWood10980 contributionsFantastic day tour of The Highlands and Loch NessBooked the day trip from Aberdeen visiting the highlands and Loch Ness (we did the one-hour cruise as well). Our host/driver, Chris, was friendly, knowledgeable and great company. Logistically, he arrived on time and throughout the day he kept everyone on schedule, and we hit all the points on our itinerary. It was a great experience: the scenery was fantastic, the rest stops perfectly timed and he shared lots of interesting historical and contemporary information about the various places along the way. We loved the experience and would definitely recommend it.Written 18 September 2024
- kmmarth80 contributionsEnjoyable 12 hour tourOur tour guide Alan was professional and provided local information as he grew up right outside Aberdeen. The bus was clean, our group had plenty of time for bathroom breaks and lunch before the Loch Ness boat ride. It was a long day (12 hrs) but worth the price.Written 12 September 2024
- R709VCsusanb0 contributionsGreat day trip to Dundee and St. Andrews! Our tour today to Dundee and St. Andrews was fabulous! Chris was our driver and tour guide, and made the trip informative, fun, relaxing, and full of very happy memories! Thank you Chris for a great day!Written 11 September 2024
- S7126IDmaryb0 contributionsA Great Way to Experience the Speyside Whisky TrailBecause there were only 5 people on our tour, our guide Chris was able to squeeze in an additional distillery stop for a wee dram! The coach was comfortable, Chris engaging, and the tasting experiences informative not to mention delicious. The trend in this is a tasting lesson at The Whisky Castle with very informative and helpful whisky expert, the Speyside Cooperage which showed the extensive and expert work that goes into repairing/recharging or making whisky barrels, and a final stop at delightful Cardhu Distillery. Every stop along the way involved friendly and helpful people who obviously love their craft. An added bonus was the scenery of the Speyside area. Worth the money!Written 7 September 2024
- brendonh3630 contributionsBeautiful Views, Amazing History and Fantastic GuideWe went on the tour on Sunday 11th August and the day was fantastic. Neil was our tour guide and he was very informative and brought history to life particularly around the history of the jacobite rising which was all new to me. He was really helpful and answered any questions the group had and very kindly dropped us near the airport after the tour as our hotel was located there which was very kind. Lochness and the boat trip was amazing, i would reccomend getting in the 15/20 mins before departure to secure a good spot on the boat. All in all considering the length of the tour and the detail i would say it represents great value for money and would very much reccomend!Written 12 August 2024

I recently took the Dunnottar Castle and Royal Deeside tour with Jim as our guide and driver, and it was an unforgettable experience! Jim was not only friendly and accommodating but also a true historian, sharing fascinating insights about the landscape, the castle's rich history, and the charming villages along the Dee River.
Despite the shorter daylight hours in November, Jim expertly managed our itinerary to ensure we saw everything before dark. The van was clean and comfortable, making for a stress-free tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Scotland's beauty with a knowledgeable guide!

I was thrilled to see a part of Scotland I've never visited before, and with a knowledgable guide who shared interesting information about the region. The weather caused us to miss the chance to tour inside Dunnottar Castle, but the outside was still quite imposing and impressive. Braemar was a delightful village to have lunch. In retrospect, I would have preferred to spend more time there and skipped the final stop, which was cold and rainy.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the excursions fun and interesting. He ran on time and kept everything personable towards what we were interested in seeing or doing ( there was just 6 of us this day). The sites were beautiful and made visiting Scotland that much more enjoyable, to learn some history from someone who knows so much.

One of the most beautiful castles (ruins) I've ever seen. It's at the top of my favorite list among those I've visited. It is about 30 minutes from Aberdeen, in Stoneheaven. You can go by car or by bus that leaves from the station next to the Union Street shopping mall. You get off very close to the castle. The train drops you off in Stoneheaven city center so I don't recommend it. The castle is located on a cliff that is quite detached from the mainland, which is the most beautiful thing to see, especially if it is a sunny day. The tour is soooo worth it and you can do it without a guide or buy a tour.

The town of Stone Haven is so enchanting! We arrive early in the day via train and visited the Waterfront Cafe for breakfast, then walked along the water and then continued up the hills to the castle. The views are breath taking and we thoroughly enjoyed every step of the way to the castle. Inside the castle walls we were transported back to a different era. Highly recommend visiting! Make sure to check the hours they are open so your visit is not cut short. We were told to make sure to walk through the woods, back to Stone Haven, however we had to catch the train back to Aberdeen.

Absolutely fantastic tour run by Alice!! We went on 24th August as myself and 5 year old son Arthur.
The scenery is stunning and the commentary by Alice was funny, Interesting and very informative.
Dunnottar Castle is fantastic and you get plenty of time to explore. The other drops are all within an hour or so of each other so perfect. You get to see castles, waterfalls and lovely towns and fantastic scenery.

We won the “Jim trifecta” on this trip, fortunate as we were to have him as our guide for all three Rabbies tours over a three week trip to Scotland. This last was in our opinion the best as it showcased extraordinary natural wonders through the day, each one intelligently and entertainingly narrated by our guide. Sights difficult to describe and impossible to forget.
In short, Rabbies tours are excellent and Jim has found his true calling, as a tour guide extraordinaire.

I was the only guest on this tour. Alice was a fabulous guide with a wealth of knowledge about Scottish history, particularly about this area. We started at picturesque Dunnottar Castle which I had all to myself. Then we continued further afield to the Royal Deeside area. Beautiful scenery everywhere. Just the right amount of time at each stop. I highly recommend this day tour to get a feel for the area surrounding Aberdeen.

Taking in consideration the recent Storm in Scotland and North England many cities and roads were blocked and without electricity and water. The Rabbies company took care not to miss anything and we took an alternative road and attractions to see. I just love their Company and standards not to mention the customer service of beyond and above of our driver/guide Doug!!! Even if the trip was shorter than advertised as pre-book before, they are willing to consider partial refund as well! What can we ask more really? Spot on! We had one previously from Edinburgh to Loch Lomond & Sterling Castle! They cover a lot of the main Scotland scenary! If we had better weather and not emergency weather conditions we were booked for Lock Ness trip as well! This will be done for sure next time we visit Scotland! See you soon! Love Scotland 🥰🏴

This is a perfect day trip if you're looking to get out of the city for a while. Our tour guide, Neil, was very nice and extremely well-read on the history of the area. We spent the day driving and stopping at a few key points in the area (highlighted below). Though it may be greener at other times of the year, the landscape was breathtaking, even in winter. Highly recommend!
