Disappointed.
Oct 2021 • Couples
They cancelled our trip one day before because only three people applied... as a tourist who spent only some days here, it can ruin the plans. Luckily we found a similar one at another company which guaranteed the tours.

Everything was very el organised, Paul our driver was so knowledgeable about everything with his commentary and occasional.music interludes! He was pleasant and helpful. To visit these places on public transport would be difficult. The minibus was excellent.

Amazing & picturesque island. A must see.
Amazing place. 1st of all I have to state 99% of people should not and probably will not be able to walk all the way to this island! Even when the tide is out, it is deep in parts, has sinking sand and has at times, tics & bugs which latch onto your dogs. Use the Causeway - by car; or bus provided. This is very picturesque. Has a castle and very old & beautiful church with some ruins. Plenty of walking around the island with plenty cafés & restaurants. There are amenities (small shops) and plenty gift shops. We didn't get a signal on our phone at the large carpark so make sure you have change - if you can't use a Parking App. You must be aware of the moving tide times - which vary daily!! A must see.

Amazing tour conducted professionally by our tour guide and driver Neil. This man is wonderful, loves his job, truly informed about this tour and very knowledgeable. My day went exceptionally brilliantly and all my expectations fully met. I highly recommend Timberbush Tours and if you are lucky, be in the company of Neil. I’m already thinking about booking my next tour with them. Thank you!!

It’s now just a commercial place and no longer holds has a place In British culture, appalled!
It is over 30 years since I visited Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and I was terribly disappointed with what I saw, there seem to be quite a few new houses in the island now and all have a modern appearance and instead of fitting into the character of the island they stand out like a sore thumb, I’m amazed the such a religious and cultural place can be damaged and desecrated like it has been, we went on a weekday and the car park must have already had in excess of 7 or 800 cars there with a constant stream waiting to park up, it no longer feels like a place of sanctity instead it feels more like a theme park which is just after money and doesn’t care how they get it, without doubt one of the biggest letdowns I’ve ever experienced and the planning department or council should be utterly ashamed of what they have done to the area!

Lovely day but people need to respect the residents area more.
A great visit to the lovely Holy Island. We checked the crossing times and got there around 45 minutes early. There were around 10 cars in front of us so we got across in good time. This meant I was able to park in the disabled car park which is closer. It’s all gravel but I use a scooter and it was easy to ride across. We went up to the castle and stopped off on the many benches for a quick picnic. The kids walked down to the water front to skim stones. I was not able to go up to the castle as it wasn’t cobbled and bumpy but not all areas can be accessible. The rest and the way up is accessible which is great. We then had a long walk around the town. Unfortunately some people with disabled badges were parking in the residents streets which must be very annoying. People need to realise a disabled badge does not mean you can park where you want and people should have respect for the residents. Other than that it was a lovely day and all visitors bar those mentioned above were very respectful of the area and pleasant with each other. Really lovey place and you can see the effort that goes in to keeping it well maintained.

Great trip to North of England from the South of Scotland!
Loved my trip to Northumbria. I was able to cross Flodden Field, Alnwick Castle and Lindisfarne off my list, I’m so chuffed about it!
These are not places easy to get to via public transport, so I’m glad they’re on a tour like this.
The guide Eric was very knowledgeable and entertaining; the bus had good AC.
I’ll be booking a trip with Timberbush again soon.

A fantastic trip! Holy island was fascinating and Anlwick definitely worth visiting, even just for the huge second hand bookshop.
Travelling with a guided tour is the best way to travel as you learn so much more than you would travelling independently. Andrew T was a great driver and a good help to me.

Brilliant day out
Sep 2020 • Couples
Brilliant day out..Holy island was amazing..sadly the castle was closed but we'd definitely go back again to see it. It's a lovely island with plenty to see, the Priory, shops and places to eat and gorgeous views. Alnwick was also great, didn't have time to do the gardens this trip but had a great walk round the Castle in the sunshine.
Adrian the driver/ guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and gave us loads of history as we were driving around. I'd definitely recommend this company for trips.
