What to Expect
Meet your guide—descendants of the Usher of Usher Hall—and small group outside of Usher Hall in central Edinburgh in advance of your tour time. When booking, you can choose a morning or afternoon tour to suit your schedule. Take off down the famous Royal Mile with your guide in the lead. Don't worry about maps or directions, as you have expert guidance and you can just focus on the scenery and learning about the city's history. Please note that the route and itinerary can be amended depending on the group's desires. As you stroll, get a history lesson on Scotland's famous minds, including thinkers, writers, poets, and inventors. These include Deacon Brodie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Alexander Graham Bell, Robert Burns, David Hume, and Sir Water Scott. Visit some of Edinburgh's famous closes, or private alleyways, where some famous residents lived, and the St. Giles' Cathedral. End up at The Mound, from where you can explore further.

We schedule this tour for our first day in Edinburgh and it was wonderful! It ended up being just us on the tour and Stuart had us laughing from the first moment we met him. He is so knowledgeable about Edinburgh and really makes for an enjoyable tour, even in the crazy wind and

Dear Whitney Grateful thanks to thee for your marvellous Review. I recall you well. You can't beat a good laugh in life! I am sure that our Clients remember more of Edinburgh when they are in jocular mode. The humour also helps all and sundry to bear the awful weather which Edinburgh delights in punishing those good souls brave enough to venture out in it. We would love to host you again..... and have another good laugh! Very regrettably we have been forced to close until the dreaded Coro virus emergency is over. We will be taking on the Walks and all comers (including the weather!) as soon as we deem it reasonably safe to do so. Best wishes (and just laugh at the Coro!) Stuart Usher.

Alison is a fabulous knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who took us in and out of courtyards and alleyways we would have missed otherwise. Her attention to the details of trials and tribulations of people- from royalty to small time criminals- is incredibly impressive. My 19

Dear Paradise Thank you very much for your marvellous Review of your Tour with us. The fact that your 19 yo Son also enjoyed the Tour so much confirms that Alison was at her usual best. The Trials and Tribulations the people of Edinburgh suffered in past centuries hardly bears thinking about. However remember that some of them also dished it out in no uncertain terms! You are more than welcome to visit us again. Best wishes Stuart U.

Dear Paula Thank you very much indeed for your superlative Review. I really enjoyed your and Hannah's great interest in Edinburgh's literary history in particular and also the many other fields of culture and history in which Edinburgh is so rich. Hannah's eyes were a joy to behold when discussing Literature. I largely agree with her on Jane Austen being one of the Giants of English Literature. I feel confident that you both will thoroughly enjoy the places I recommended you visit. Don't forget both the National Gallery of Scotland AND the National Portrait Gallery of Scotland in Queen Street..... put them on your bucket list NOW! Best wishes to you both and please visit us again some sweet day! Stuart U
