We did the 5 day Scottish Choice tour with Jamie in June. We were 32 people on the bus. First it should be noted that there is quite a bit of walking on uneven surfaces/stairs which might limit some people. With Highland Experience the driver also acts as the guide which seems to be a tall task (!) but Jamie was fantastic. As he drove he was able to give us lots of information about the areas we were covering (history, food, local economy, terrain, wildlife, etc). This was interspersed with different music selections that were either of Scottish musicians or somehow related to the topic at hand. The bus does not have Wifi.

We were generally touring from 9:15 until about 18:30 with several stops during the day to visit sites, for lunch breaks, bathroom breaks, etc. Lodgings for the group were not all at the same place but were close by to each other – so we made a few stops to let people off/on. Most of the BnBs had stairs to access the rooms so limiting the size of your suitcase is a must! As we drove into the small towns Jamie would point to different places where we could have lunch/supper (however people sitting in the back of the bus had a bit of a hard time to note these different places – photocopies of simple hand-drawn maps or downloads before departure on the tour would have been more convenient). Although we were in popular tourist areas many of these towns had limited access to restaurants/cafés (possibly due in part to lack of personnel since the pandemic?). For suppers reservations were sometimes needed, a point that could have been communicated to us by the company so that we could prepare before departure.

All the sites mentioned in the itinerary were visited as explained on the website - the whiskey distillery stop was just for a quick tasting (a visit of the distillery with explanation of the whiskey making process would have been really interesting). Although the weather was often grey/misty with some rain (it is Scotland after all!), the scenery was still very beautiful and we really enjoyed the tour. Jamie’s love of Scotland and nature mixed with his relaxed manner and humor made a huge positive impact on our visit to the Highlands. We definitely recommend this tour.

I went on the 5 day tour and I absolutely loved it! Barry did a great job with funny facts, historical stories and always being blunt with us if some points on the itinerary wouldn’t be the greatest and offered us alternatives. So I deducted one star because of the organisation of the tour by the office. Some accommodations didn’t work out, once for me, several other times for other guests. Barry still figured it out but the confusion and the fear that everything would be alright at the end of the day was always present. Also: Covid measures were announced in information mails beforehand but have never been applied…
But ending on a good note: Got to see some stunning world class scenery.

The trip was everything I hoped for and much more.
Our driver/guide Jamie Stewart was excellent and went out of his way to make us feel welcome, informed and cared for
We were fortunate to have great weather the entire 5 days. It allowed us to do everything on the itinerary and more.
The scenery is beautiful. The history is fascinating and Jamie explained it all very clearly
Our accommodations each night were also top notch
I would do the trip again and highly recommend the experience

This was a wonderful tour. If you want to see the best highlights of Scotland in a limited time, do this tour. Very good value for money. We went to gorgeous places; you will have good memories to keep for many years. What a beautiful country! So full of history, culture, taste delights and amazing landscapes. Transport was good, we were a small group in a Mercedes Sprinter, comfortable and lots of space. Our driver Barry was one of the highlights of the tour! He took us to some wonderful off the beaten tourist track places on Skye and in the Highlands, listened to us and took special requests to stop at a few points of interest. Barry had the right balance of speaking as a guide at the right time and allowing periods of silence to enable everyone to absorb the atmospheric scenery. Good sense of Glaswegian humour! Some of the stories he told us were hilarious! Very entertaining, good mix of serious and funny tales. I would recommend this great tour to anyone interested in some of the best that Scotland has to offer.

Despite the inevitable rough Scottish weather, this trip was one of the best I’ve ever taken. A lot of that was due to our fantastic guide, Jamie Stewart, who went beyond being a guide and turned out to be someone whose personality, knowledge, charisma, and interpretive gifts touched all of us profoundly. I think it’s safe to say that neither I know any of the 30 – odd other passengers on this tour will ever forget him.

The days were full and packed of great scenery & information. Our tour guide, Jamie, really made the tour with his sense of humor and thorough knowledge of Scottish history and lifestyle. His driving, music and guiding was impeccable. I was shocked with the small streets and terrain that we were able to see and enjoy. We would definitely recommend this tour. Our 63 year old mother was able to manage the hikes and sites.

This is quite a fast paced tour but you get to see alot of the highlights of the country. But, what made this tour really great was our tour guide Jamie. He is such a genuine and warm guy who made sure each person was having great time. He even granted a special request & drove a couple of us back to the Old Man of Storr one evening so we can do more hiking. I also loved his animated storytelling mixed with his awesome playlist of traditional & contemporary Scottish/other music. All of the accomodations were also top notch B&Bs whose hosts made you really fell welcomed and at home. So worth it!

We waited two years after our original booking to take this trip due to Covid restrictions. We originally chose this company because it was the only one that let children younger than 5 go on the tour. We stuck with them during a couple of Covid induced re-bookings and they were always easy to work with. The 5-Day Best of Scotland tour was outstanding. The guide, Rory, was friendly, funny, and accommodating. He had a wealth of knowledge about Scotland’s history and other stories. The accommodations booked by the company were centrally located and met our needs. Overall a great experience with this company and a fantastic tour. We would definitely use this company again.

Words fail to describe how good this tour was. 5 days with one of the funniest and intelligent guys I've ever met on any tour I've ever done.
Barry was was the perfect guide showing us places not normally covered on this tour and backed with fantastic stories with the right mix of history humour music and facts.
The sights are unbelievable the accommodation was brilliant and the weather was great.
The other passengers were fantastic and we all had a ball.
This was the trip of a lifetime for me and I am so glad I chose this company to explore Scotland with.
I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to take a tour with this company hopefully you get Barry as your guide x

What a beautiful adventure! Every turn of the van revealed another jaw-dropping view. We had the best guide…Jamie, who did an amazing job of showing us the usual tourist sites and some of his favorite, little-known spots. He made frequent stops for photos, food, and toilet needs. Lodging booked by the company was very satisfactory every night, no complaints. The star of the week was definitely the many sites we visited and our Tour Guide, Jamie!
