It’s not often that I leave a review, but this one is well earned! We spent one night in Edinburgh on a work trip and decided to use it (very wisely!) on the ghost and ghouls tour. Jack was a fantastic storyteller and made 2 hours seem like 10 minutes as we were totally engrossed in every story. Well worth the money, a brilliant way to spend a few hours, and we will absolutely be back.

Steph was our tour guide and right from the start she had us on the edge of our seats. The way that she told the stories was so gripping. Once we went into the underground vaults things definitely got spookier, we heard gruesome tales and even the watcher's boots stomping up and down the corridor! At one point I jumped out of my skin! It was fascinating to hear some of the history of edinburgh and the stories of the vaults. I would absolutely recommend this tour to friends and family visiting edinburgh. Truly a fantastic experience and one to remember for years to come. I wish we had more time on our trip so that we could try all of the tours!

We did the ghost vault tour on a Tuesday evening in January with Mercat Tours. I have to say as a past tour guide seeing and doing so many tours, it was an excellent tour. Shannon kept us all engaged from start to finish. She even chatted and answered questions before the tour even started. I found the tour well planned out as we got half the time outside and in the closes/alleys and the other half underground in the vaults. Shannon has the perfect balance of storytelling, drama and humour without any hammy over acting. She was so knowledgable and easy to listen to. Highly recommend this tour and tour company.

Both myself and my partner had a fantastic time on the ‘ghostly underground’ tour. From start to finish our tour guide Linda was brilliant. Funny, captivating and really brought the stories to life. Historical fact mixed with dark stories and ghostly goings on. Couldn’t recommend this enough. We will be using mercat tours again when we come back to Edinburgh.

Linda was our guide. What an amazing story teller. She was very informative and made the tour very enjoyable. My son also commented on how much he enjoyed the tour.

As part of a Christmas present for my daughter we went on an underground tour of the Edinburgh South Bridge vaults. Despite only living 25 minutes from Edinburgh and having been to the city more times than I’ve had hot dinners it was such a fascinating tour finding out lots of new things about a city that, as a local, you kind of take for granted. Veni was such a great tour guide who was friendly and knowledgable and a credit to Mercat Tours. If we’re brave enough we’ll be back for the ghost tour!!

Well what can I say about our tour guide? She's very good, she's knowledgeable, she's short, she's got a wicked glint in her eyes and she made the tour very enjoyable her name is Linda we had fun, from your special Darlo boy x

Michael was our guide for this tour. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very entertaining. The other staff we only saw very briefly but they were friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend mercat tours and Michael was great! Many thanks

Spooky fun time with a historical twist in Edinburgh. Learned a lot about the haunted history of the city from our amazing storyteller Steph. Entered the underground of the city and enjoy a nice Scottish whiskey (or cream soda). 10/10 experience that I’ll be recommending to anyone who visits Edinburgh!

Tour was excellent and the guide Michael was hilarious, knowledgeable and extremely entertaining. It was a fun evening exploring some of Edinburghs hidden depths and a dive into its murky past. Would recommend but wrap up warm in winter and wear comfortable shoes. Only criticism is that we booked the tour with the drink at the end but this was not offered and the tour ended in the Graveyard.

The coolest trip ever! We went on the historical vaults tour and will be back for more. Linda was absolutely amazing. Very informative and a great story teller. She completely included both my under 8s in everything. I swear my boy held hands with her more than me. We all loved exploring the vaults. Even bagged my first possible ghost photo?! 10 out of 10!

Linda was excellent very informative talk lots of historical detail delivered with humour and an obvious love iof the subject.she really brought to life the terrible living and working conditions in the vaults as well as in the town as a whole in 1700 Edinburgh, fantastic. Also to mention Rory in office who was very helpful when we thought we had booked but were very late turned out it hadn't gone through, great service.

A nice experience also because gave us the opportunity of visit some different an unknown spots of Edinburgh . Personally I was fascinated about the The vaults

Tour with Veni was excellent. She is a very knowledgeable and passionate guide. Lots of nuisances included in the tour which I really appreciated. Highly recommend!
