The tour was an incredible experience that I will never forget. All the stories we were told were 100% accurate and will stay with me for the rest of my life. Our tour guide John, the witch hunter, was funny, entertaining and helped to put smiles on our faces even when it was chucking it down with rain. The tour is very much worth the money and an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

While this tour wasn't particularly paranormal or ghostly, it was a simply fantastic tour with a guide who clearly loved his job and played the role of Dr Knox perfectly. A wonderful mix of arrogance and charm with a knowledge of the city and its history that kept us all in rapt attention.
There were laughs aplenty, with non-stop stories, banter, plenty of swearing to compliment the gruesome background and, of course, obligatory audience-victimisation to the amusement of all.
Overall, 10/10. As a resident of Edinburgh for over 21 years, I learned plenty and visited places I didn't know existed. My partner loved it also, we'd recommend this to anyone visiting or living in the city.

We went on this tour last night as a part of our honeymoon. It was fantastic! Our tour guide, James, was charismatic and brilliant at engaging the whole group with plenty of stories and tales about the area. His call-backs were on point and just the right level of comedy for a ghost tour, building a rapport with us as individuals and a group.
A lot of reviews on here seem to be expecting something different, more of a fairground scare experience. That's not what this is; I think that's the sort of thing you might find at the dungeon. This tour is an informative journey into the dark history, ghosts and poltergeists of Edinburgh. It has an exciting, spooky atmosphere, little jumps and explores Greyfriars cemetery and the underground.
We were given time underground to take photos and experience the darkness and the potential spooky occurrences. I personally didn't experience anything but I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the group anxiety. Some of the underground wasn't open because of Covid-19 but that's understandable - there are some very scary things going on right now, I think we should all appreciate this escapism.
Overall, had a blast! Would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again upon returning to Edinburgh. James was awesome and, even with the downpour, kept us all smiling and laughing... And a little spooked.

We booked this tour last minute as we wanted to look at the vaults late at night!
We had a great tour guide dr knox who was dressed in full period costume and played a character well.
Unfortunately the tour itself is a little deceiving, we walked the streets of Edinburgh of which you can do so without paying nearly 20 pound , the graveyard was spooky to walk round at night and the stories in which the tour guide told were well executed.
Unfortunately the "vault" was a dark room with some dolls put in there for effect and it was definetly not an extreme paranormal tour nor was it looking at or exploring the vaults, I think you could find a more reasonably priced tour for the price it cost and had it not been for the knowledge/character of the tour guide I think we would of walked away half way through.

Booked this tour as we wanted an opportunity to see the vaults of Edinburgh and hear spooky stories ! Our tour guide Dr. Knox had great charisma and knowledge and led our tour v well. He had a good sense of humour and his ability to tell stories and describe the ghosts was amazing. Despite already doing 3 tours before ours, he was so energetic and made the tour very enjoyable. You can tell he loves his job and really believes in the supernatural which is great to see. This tour was very good the opportunity to go underground in the vaults was one i will not forget !!

This is a great ghost tour, we turned up a bit early so managed to have a chat with Linda, she was so lovely and helpful. Our tour guide for the night was Dr Knox who was so funny! It was pouring with rain but you didn’t really notice because he kept everyone engaged with what he was saying. Going to the Graveyard and the vaults at night was interesting, especially the children’s room where we heard a few noises and the dolls were very creepy. Would definitely recommend.

We had James Douglas last night as our tour guide and from the moment we arrived he had us in stitches, he had us interested from the start of the tour and his knowledge of the sites was something else along with his banter twist. Thank you for an amazing night James and I highly recommend that if you come to Edinburgh you definitely must do this.

Sawney bean was our tour guide, he was both fantastic as a tour guide in his knowledge as well as being extremely entertaining. It was myself
And my GF first time doing this tour as well and it was an excellent tour. I would highly recommend this, as it’s both fun and interesting, learning about old Edinburgh and spooky stories. I have zero complaints about this tour and the price, well worth it ! ☺️

So we were fortunate enough to catch this tour on 28/8. We had previously been on a few tours in Edinburgh so knew what we were expecting
The success of the tour was the absolute tour de force performance from the guide Dr Knox ( think he’s calledJoe) exceptional character. Really engaging and fun. Kept everyone interested and told the stories with humour and a little malevolence!
The tour took in some famous spots in Edinburgh’s old town before heading to a cemetery and then into ‘the vaults ‘
Good for people wanting to be entertained!
The tour guide kept us out nearly 1hr 45! He clearly loves his job and he was exceptional

James was a brilliant entertainer and extremely engaging. He brought the tales to life despite our general familiarity with them. 10/10 would reccommend. We managed ourselves with the covid restrictions quite well, and face masks were encouraged when indoors. A small group meant that we were socially distanced outdoors while still all directly interacted with!
