What to expect
  • Choose your preferred departure time, and travel independently to the start point near the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park. You don’t need to bring anything but your comfiest running shoes, suitable clothing, and bags of enthusiasm. Meet your guide, a qualified jog leader, and group of no more than 15, and after warming up, begin your run. Your route will be set according to the weather and your group’s abilities and interests, but usually covers around 4.3 miles (7 kilometers). The pace is set by the group, so whatever your fitness levels, you’ll be able to complete the course. Take a gentle jog up Calton Hill, and pause to admire the panoramic city views as your guide points out the landmarks. Then, get into your stride as you navigate Edinburgh’s Old Town and New Town. Glimpse famous attractions like Edinburgh Castle, and admire the elegant, 18th-century architecture of the New Town on route. Make regular stops for photos of the sights and to learn about their history from your guide. Your run concludes at the Historic Scotland Education Centre where you receive a souvenir pack of a running T-shirt, city poster, and other extras before your guide departs.

Running Tour
Oct 2020
This was a great experience- James was our tour guide, he was very good at judging our running pace, was really approachable upbeat and personable and really knowledgeable about Edinburgh. I have lived here my whole life and came away knowing and appreciating so much more. Well done, fantastic fun, worth it if you have two legs that can move!

James was our fantastic guide. A really great way to see Edinburgh with lots of stops that other tours don’t cover. Really fun afternoon all the while factoring in the current covid rules.

A lively experience of Edinburghs hidden gems.
Jan 2020 • Solo
I recently took part in this tour. It's a 7K tour whilst gently running around Edinburghs landmarks and hidden treasures, whilst simultaneously hearing more about them from the witty and knowledgable guide - Stevie.

I met him just outside the Holyrood parliament, he introduced himself and done a short warm up and we began. All along the way he was very insightful and even shared some anecdotes about the buildings, drunken shipping merchants and TV show filming locations.

It's a fantastic way to see some of Edinburghs treasures if on a tight timescale traveling, of even if you're a Scottish based running enthusiast that fancies something a bit different.

Highly recommended. 5*

Thoroughly enjoyed this well organised tour.
Jan 2020
Steve was our guide and he pitched it just right. There was a good mix of beautiful views, interesting stories about famous local characters, and history (ancient & modern). A good few running stories thrown in too. We saw fascinating places just tucked away off the main routes that you'd never find yourself or even know to look for. Steve was concerned to make sure all the way round that the running pace was OK and that we were getting what we wanted out of it. This was 90 minutes of education, entertainment, moderate exercise and good company. Brilliant.

Thanks for the feedback Guy - much appreciated. It was great to meet you and Lindsey on Saturday. I really enjoyed the tour and chatting to you both in between stops about events you had done in the past. All the best with getting back to full fitness and hope to see you at Edinburgh Marathon Festival in May. Oh and if you or your son work out Maxwell's Theory, do let us know. Kind regards to you all in the Toon, Stevie

WARNING!!! Took my money, but noone showed up and no response to my emails
Aug 2019
My friend and I booked the 5k running tour around Arthur's seat for 10am Friday 23rd August. We waited until 10.15am but noone turned up. I have sent two emails and posted a facebook message but I have had no response. They also have my mobile telephone number and email address and have made no effort to get in touch. I would urge anyone to think very carefully about booking anything with this company. It is also deeply frustrating that there is no contact number.

Great tour, knowledgeable guide
Apr 2019 • Solo
I was the only one who booked, but the tour still went ahead. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide, with lots of interesting and amusing stories about the history of the city. Running allows you to see much more of the city than a walking tour, whilst still allowing access to narrow alleyways and pedestrian areas. There were some spectacular views, and the weather was great, but even on a grey day, I would highly recommend this tour.

Fun way to see the city and keep fit!
Mar 2019 • Solo
I booked onto the running tour on a whim while I had a spare night while visiting Edinburgh for work. It sounded like a nice way to get some exercise and see the city, instead of doing more work in the hotel room.
I'm so glad I decided to book it - my tour guide James was fantastic. It was just the two of us so I had a completely personal tour and we covered a good distance in the 90mins tour (just over 4.5 hilly miles). James has amazing knowledge of the city, he covered the big hitters but also took me to some hidden away gems that I bet some locals wouldn't even know about. I had a thoroughly enjoyable run watching the sunset, with good company and got to see all the best bits of the city. Thank you James! I'd definitely recommend.

Best way to see the city!
Nov 2018 • Solo
James was extremely knowledgeable and fun as he ran a group of 9 of us around the city. He can tailor the distance pace and difficulty as needed. He allowed us to change the date due to a flight delay. While we understand that isn’t always an option we appreciate that he was willing to work with us to find another suitable time to run. James is cheerful and has boundless energy. Running is a great way to see the city. Take this tour!
