Thank you very much for letting us know your feedback of your recent visit to Edinburgh Castle. We are disappointed that your visit to the castle did not live up to your expectations. We are opening the castle this August in a phased approach to make sure physical distancing and other safety measures can be put in place throughout the castle. We have been working incredibly hard to ensure that we can re-open safely, but as a result of Scottish Government guidelines we are unable to reopen all areas of the castle. We introduced new scannable interpretation and have reduced the admission price accordingly. As a part of Historic Scotland, our job is to protect, present and promote Scotland's built heritage and we believe the reduced admission reflects the offer and helps us to continue our important work.
