A good trip for everyone
Sep 2019 • Friends
The trip was very fun and everything was beautiful! Tommy, our guide, broke the ice very quickly and made this trip family-like with the rest of the group. This trip is good for any age and I will definitely reccomend everyone to go on this amazing experience!

It was extremely fun
Our tour guide Tommy (Tommy Cheney) made this trip unforgettable! He helped us bond very quickly and the tour went like with best friends even though we just met :)

The scenery was beautiful, the b&b was cozy :) anyone can do this trip, there is some walking but you don't have to, you can always just stay in the minibus.

So thanks everyone who been on it with me and thanks Tommy!

Great introduction to the Highlands
Aug 2019 • Couples
We added on Loch Ness and Culloden as an additional day.

The tour guides/also drivers were first class. We were in 16 seater buses which gave us access to roads and areas not available to those on traditional large buses. It also aided the chance to meet people.

The weather wasn’t perfect- but then it’s Northern Europe. Hotels were good and everyone was very helpful. I would use this tour operator again. I enjoy driving - but it was great not to have to worry about it and to learn so much.

One concern - nothing to do with the tour. My partner is in a wheelchair and I had to return a hire car to Edinburgh airport at the end of our vacation. I had to leave her in a wheelchair at the drop off point, find an assistance phone, and wait for someone to come and help. The people were great - but it cost me 15 pounds as the drop off fee (as in passenger drop off and arrival. If anyone knows of a better way around this please post!

Great trip to amazing places!
Aug 2019 • Solo
I loved this 3 day trip. Paul the driver/guide was very friendly. He told us stories of the places we visited and drove by and sometimes we listened to music often related to his stories.
The islands were amazing. We stayed 2 nights in a cute little town called Tobermory and drove and sailed on a ferry on the second day to the small island of Iona. I visited the abby and all I can say is WOW, this is a must see. I cant recommend it enough. Now go on and book this trip!

Jamie was a fantastic tour guide and what a great time
Sep 2018 • Friends
We had a wonderful time and Jamie kept us all amused with folklore, music and local history. We had to have our Iona trip cancelled due to Storm Ali but Jamie made up for it
last minute by going to our family castle and a local history museum.

"A special part of our world"
Sep 2018 • Friends
Travelling with several adult family members, we explored the Scottish Highlands and the island of Mull for three days led by our driver and guide, Jamie. Simply stated, Jamie was phenomenal. Joined by others, we were a group of nine on a 15 passenger coach. Jamie made an effort to know us, where we were from and our goals for this experience. This helped all of us feel comfortable with each other for the three days. Paramount with Jamie was our safety and comfort. This was especially appreciated given the extended stretches of rough, narrow and winding roads and heavy rains at times. None of this interfered with being captivated by the spectacular scenery and thoughts about the way of life in the highlands, both past and present. Jamie's narrative about the historical and current perspectives further amplified the experience. On the second evening, Jamie suggested that those who wished meet together with him for dinner. Most did and it was a great time to know each other better and share personal perspectives about the trip. To the degree possible, Jamie tailored his comments and stops to the specific interests of individuals in the group. Two nights were spent in the delightful little town of Tobermory. It was a great opportunity to talk with some residents about life in the highlands. At the end of three days, we bid a fond farewell to each other knowing that we had shared a special experience. A special goodbye and abundant well deserved thanks were given to Jamie.

Stumbling onto Family Roots
Sep 2018 • Family
Two daughters, a son-in-law and I took a three day Highland Experience tour recently with Jamie as our tour guide. He was a delight! His history of the area, its culture and accommodations made our trip a grand experience. No matter what our fellow tour mates asked about, he was able to expound very knowledgeably and, what's more, it was evident he enjoyed doing so. When Jamie learned the four of us were on a family history search, he was able to point the clan castle and suggest organizations for future contact. A Great experience all around.

Off the Beaten Track
Sep 2018 • Family
A search for family roots led us to Highland Experience Tours. In mid-September, my husband and I set off with my mother and sister for a three day trip from Edinburgh to the western highlands and the islands of Mull and Iona. We were joined by five others and we all rode in comfort in a brand new minivan. Our knowledgeable tour guide, Jamie, kept us well informed and entertained with history and music from Scotland and the region. He capably negotiated the narrow roads and when we ran into rough weather that caused a change of itinerary, immediately devised an interesting alternative. He also asked each traveler's interests to tailor the tour stops and was able to provide background to match. The rainy misty weather added atmosphere to our tour through the austerely beautiful glens. We got a true feeling for what it must have been like in centuries past. We enjoyed our two nights in picturesque Tobermory at an inn arranged by the tour company and we ate well thanks to Jamie’s trustworthy recommendations. A great Highland Experience!

Isle of Mull and Iona
Sep 2018 • Couples
The journey started on time in Edinburgh at Cafe Nero. It's easy to find the meet up point. Our driver and tour guide was Jaime. He's very good with his safe driving, knowledge of local history, and inside of Scottish wisdom. The isle of Mull were beautiful and the time there well scheduled. However, we couldn't visit Iona due to the storm. So it is important to check the weather before you book. Overall it was a nice trip with bad weather. Many thanks to our tour guide (Jaime), who tried his best to match the condition in the field.

The tour started on time in Edinburgh. Our driver and tour guide was Tommy. He kept us well entertained on the bus, telling us about local history, playing scottish music and driving us savely through the highlands. The isle of Mull and Iona were beautiful and the time there well scheduled.
Overall it was a very fulfilling Highland Experience, especially thanks to our tour guide, who tried his best to meet our needs.
