Relaxing and easy way to see some amazing castles!
We loved our tour and are still talking about it! David had a great deal of knowledge and we had a comfortable drive with him to Blackness, Doune, Drummond and Stirling castles. He pointed out other landmarks (Kelpies, William Wallace monument). It was very convenient to have someone take us directly tot he castles and pick us up - it saved time and even though we have driven extensively in Scotland, it was nice to relax and enjoy the scenery without worrying about getting lost. We beat the crowds a tBlackness getting there right when they opened. The William Wallace monument is near Stirling Castle and if we'd know we might've tried to spend less time at the Drummone gardens in favor of trying to hit that, but we were very happy with the tour and will plan to come back for the William Wallace experience.

Delightful day trip to St Andrews
Terrific day trip from Edinburgh to visit the home of golf. Stuart the driver/guide is a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge about Scotland’s history, culture, food, etc. very entertaining mix of tidbits and music for the ride. His recommendation to go to ESF: Edinburgh Street Food which is a 5” walk from St Andrews Sq was spot on!

          Go for it.
The giant horse heads were bigger than I expected and very impressive. Stirling Castle is one of the best and most interesting castles we visited. And of course there is the Falkirk wheel. We spent 2+ weeks touring Scotland and this stop was one of the highlights. I recommend both the tour and this stop. The people were very friendly and eager to help when we had questions.

3 bridges, Culross, Bannockburn, Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument
Day trip including, 3 bridges, village of Culross, Bannockburn site, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument May 2024 William picked up the 6 of us at our hotel (Du Vin) in Edinburgh. Our first stop was South Queensferry and the viewing platform to see the 3 bridges from 3 different centuries that span the Firth of Forth. Then on to the picturesque village of Culross (used as a filming location for Outlander and other films). From there to the site of the battle of Bannockburn and the monument to Robert the Bruce. We then headed to Stirling Castle and admired the views of Stirling from the wall around the castle. Next was the Wallace Monument. We opted for the van ride to the top to admire even more spectacular views of the countryside below. Throughout the trip Willie (William Gavin) educated us regarding the kings, battles and geography of the area. His enthusiasm and love of Scotland was infectious. He tailored our excursion perfectly, taking into consideration some in our group with mobility challenges. We were dropped back at our hotel in Edinburgh after a wonderful day filled with beautiful sites and a better understanding of the history of the area.

4 Castles Tour- Nice Day !
David picked us up right on time at our Airbnb. My communications via email prior to our visit were excellent. Our day started at Blackness Castle and then we proceeded to Linlithgow Palace. The snow started to fall as soon as we arrived. Next was Sterling Castle and the snow was really coming down. We dined at Unicorn Cafe and our sausage roll was delicious. Our last castle to visit was Doune Castle. David gave us historical commentary on each castle. We felt safe with his driving in inclement weather conditions. We enjoyed our day and would recommend. We enjoyed our

          Incredible experience, well worth it.
What an incredible experience. Our guide knew all the best places, had great insight about all the areas, especially when it came to films and series that have been filmed in the area. We could go down narrow streets and remote areas regular tours and buses don't go. A tremendous way to see the sights and the highlight of our entire trip.

          Great last day in Scotland
David was very accommodating. We had very foggy weather in the morning and could not see the Kelpies so he adjusted our schedule so that we would be able to see them later in the day. He gave us extra time to get everything in which we really appreciated. There definitely was not enough time at Stirling Castle. This stop should be a minimum of two hours as the guided tour is one hour, then there is no extra time to see anything else. Overall, it was well worth the day.

          St Andrews plus other stops
Eric the tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable of all the stops - and accommodating with the pick ups. The van was comfortable with an excellent driver. The recommendations of food and shopping were excellent and made for a pleasant day with enough time to enjoy the stops - and scenery. Eric seems to be a proud Scotsman and will answer any question you have which made the day a great time.

          Great Beasts of the North.
An inspirational experience, we had not even heard of these magnificent beasts, the whole experience was fun and informative. Our guide for the tour inside one of the sculptures was so well-informed and very enthusiastic, she made a very good presentation which kept the whole group spellbound.

A glorified Uber to some great sites
I took multiple organized trips when I stayed in Edinburgh, some with smaller groups some larger but the one I really looked forward to, this one, and chose a private tour for was the most disappointing. What I got was a glorified Uber driving you to the tour destinations. My driver was a nice enough but in no way as engaging and knowledgeable as any of the drivers of the more commercial trips I took. I would even say I did not really feel safe having him read rudimentary information of his iphone to me while driving. If you are a history buff put on your earphones. He said he was doing the job for a few years! Must have been other tours. The sites were great, catch the free guided tours at Stirling (every 30 min) and Bannockburn (every hour on the hour). I missed the latter because I did not know. All in all it's all about the driver. I got a car service and maybe that is fair, but I experienced what it could be on other tours that were much longer and where I paid. So it left me wanting and definitely go for the funner bus option next time.

2 Castles but a long day
The rating is from a 2-4, thus a 3. Several things to note - in order of appearance before you spend 500+ dollars - First, if you want to see Balmoral Castle - ask your driver to take you there first not last. We arrived after 4pm and had pre-purchased tickets but could not tour the castle (only the grounds) and could not receive the audio as they stop giving them out at 4:00 on the dot. This left us with less one hour to take in the outside of the castle, which was the number one reason we wanted to do this tour. Second, David is a nice but quiet guy who is a driver. He is not a tour guide. He offered very little spontaneous information about the castles or Scotland. If we asked a question he provided a short polite answer. This did not feel like a tour but a very long Uber drive. Third, the Glamis Castle tour was led by a knowledgeable docent but this stop takes more than one hour if a cruise ship group is in line ahead of you. Our driver was not aware of this timing and reported he had never been on the tour! But it is well worth the visit. If this tour day can be re-tooled and some Castle or Scotland facts can be provided beyond a basic wiki page, with the order of the trip reversed, it would be lovely! Note 10-5 is not accurate. You need to leave earlier and the your day takes 9 hours (with no extra stops) not 7 hours. It’s a rushed day for even just 3 stops!

          Highly Recommend!!!
David was an excellent driver and guide who cheerfully offered tidbits of accurate historical background, as well as filmmaking trivia related to Outlander, Game of Thrones, James Bond, Monty Python, Downton Abbey and other movies and television series that were filmed in areas of Scotland. Even though this was technically an "Outlander" tour, he was well versed in everything else you could think of, including one of my favorites: Doctor Who! He answered all my random questions about sites we passed and offered stories about others that I didn't even know existed. He told me about natural geological features of the land and even explained some of the cultural differences between Highland and Lowland Scots. David knows the best routes to get to each location, where the entrances are, and where the ticket offices are located (if they're separate from the entrances). He makes sure you see him when you come out, so you don't need to worry about wandering around looking for him when you've finished looking at a site. I highly recommend this private tour service! It's so much more personalized and efficient than group tours and coaches!

          Fantastic! A great day out!
The bus was prompt and on time. The tour guide was funny and very knowledgable. We stopped at Midhope Castle (Lallybroch) for about 30mins. We spent 1 hour at Blackness Castle (Fort William) which was fantastic! Stopped to take photos of Lilithgow. Drove into lilthgow town for lunch and a chance to walk around the castle grounds. Castle was closed for renovation. It was Wentworth Prison in Outlander. We were given 1.5 hours. Culross- tour guide gave us a walking tour of the town telling us history and Outlander facts. After, we were given 30mins to explore the town. After driving a little more, we stopped briefly to admire the views and take photos. The guide played the Outlander theme song on the bagpipes which was amazing and really made you feel like you were in the show. Falkland Village- guide gave us a walking tour and posed as Jamie for photos from the first season. We then had 30mins to explore the town and get refreshments if needed. On the way back to Edinburgh we stopped for 10mins to take photos of the bridges over the river forth. We arrived back in Edinburgh at 6:30pm Our driver was called Mac and did litter picking at each stop.
