Excellent private tour. Our guide Gerry was incredibly knowledgable and gave us a fantastic day in Leith and Edinburgh. We learnt about history, culture and much more. We are well traveled and have high standards, and we were very happy with our tour guide Gerry. He even took us to a special bar for a pint of beer at the end. Highly recommended ;))

Adrian took us on a guided tour of the Scottish Borders, stopping at two mills, a distillery, and Abbotsford. We enjoyed it immensely. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour to Leith. Gerry is easy going and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend taking one of his walking tours. I recommend booking it early in your trip to Edinburgh to receive all his recommendations and to get a background on the city.

We were only in Edinburgh for two nights and I knew there was so much to see in so little time. I know a professional guide the only way to get everything in. Gerry was fantastic and very knowledgeable! We conversed a bit beforehand and he tailored a walk that my boyfriend and I both enjoyed. He met us in the lobby of our hotel and took us all over town. I learned so much on this walk and we were blessed with great weather too! I’ll be giving him a call next time I visit! Gerry did a marvelous job tailoring a tour to our particular interests, based on input from us when we exchanged emails to book the tour. He had planned possible sites to visit and done extra research to prepare for our visit. Well in advance, he sent us an excellent list of recommendations for restaurants, pubs, and other places we might want to experience in Edinburgh. He welcomed us at our hotel the morning of our tour, and led us through the historic streets, alleys, and closes of Edinburgh, as well as into special places such as the supreme court building. He was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate, asking us our preferences for pacing and options for what to spend time on during our tour. Gerry provided us a real connection with Edinburgh. Gerry took us around Edinburgh for a 1/2 a day in the rain and we loved it. He was very knowledgeable and kept the tour moving nicely.

I've never done a walking tour before and I hope that any future ones are half as good as Gerry's! Gerry met us at our accommodation and took us through New Town, Dean Village and Old Town. He picked a number of spots with beautiful scenery and incredible architecture, informing us of their significant historical moments and local truths. He also kept us informed on more contemporary history with some inside knowledge on J.K Rowling's Harry Potter books, visiting some of the supposed "birthplaces" of her stories and characters. On his recommendation, we stopped at a great spot for lunch which offered fresh vegan and vegetarian cuisine which was affordable and tasted brilliant! The whole time Gerry was incredibly pleasant, informative and accommodating, catering the walk to our needs. I will highly recommend his guides to anyone looking to see a bit of Edinburgh and learn some hidden truths of the city!

My group of twelve got to Edinburgh in the middle of october and we had an excellent time.
