Johann was amazing 🤩 and this was the highlight of our trip in Edinburgh. There was only 2 of us (me and my husband Eric) for that day due to the time of the year October with unpredictable weather conditions. When we met at our hotel for the pickup at exact time arranged, we started the amazing 5 hours e-bike trip (total of approx 21 miles). Johann is like an old friends as we had endless conversations. He’s super friendly and we have a lot of things in common. He did a great job introducing us the city/history/geographic of Edinburgh during the bike trip. We had so much fun with Johann. Highly recommended to everyone to check out the city of Edinburgh with Johann on e-bike.

Our family had a fantastic time on the Sky to Sea bike tour in Edinburgh with our guide, Johann! He was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout the tour. We rode to the Salisbury Crags near Arthur’s Seat from the city center, then continued to Portobello Beach and the Port of Leith. If you're a fan of outdoor biking, one of Johann's tours is a must! We highly recommend it.

Johann was such a great guide; knowledgeable, professional, super friendly with a great sense of humor. The tour started with a visit to Linlithgow Palace which was breathtaking. Johann shared a funny story about the dog statue in town; ask him about it. We began riding in the rain which was actually pretty invigorating, but it only lasted about 5 minutes after which the sun came out making it an absolutely gorgeous day. We rode through Trossachs National Park which is stunning. We stopped for several photo ops and ended going to Doune Castle which seemingly is hidden behind a typical neighborhood. Additionally, the bikes were a dream to operate. A trip to remember!

Amazing experience with Johann on the bike tour. Johann is funny, knowledgeable, and well-prepared. He was patient and encouraging with a beginner to biking and made it safe and comfortable. He kept us off of the busy streets and most of the tour was on bike paths. We learned so many interesting things about the city on the tour. Not only did he pick us up from our Airbnb, he went out of his way to take us out of town to where we were staying for the night because it was on his way to somewhere he was going personally. We will definitely be booking another tour with Johann next time we are in Edinburgh. Bonuses- great snacks, great photographer, dad jokes, pleasure to be around.

We can highly recommend Tartan bikes and Johann especially! The service was perfect, he made sure that we have everything, bikes were in a great condition, he also lent us lights, tools, spare tubes and a repair kit, a pump and a phone holder and we could also left our luggage in his car. Easy communication, he brought the bikes where we wanted and then picked them up again. Very friendly and helpful, thank you! The bikes almost rode themselves 🙂

Ths was the HIGHLIGHT of our time in Scotland. We ebiked from the cruise port to Edinburgh. It was a custom tour through beautiful country right to the Royal Mile where our guide showed us where to go and how to get back later that evening to our cruise port. He is an expert biker and knowledge of Edinburgh. Do not miss out on this adventure!

The bike tour was amazing. We saw sights in Edinburgh we would not have seen on foot. Johann was a fantastic tour guide. Would definitely recommend.

Overall GREAT day! Saw lots of interesting things and enjoyed the camaraderie of Johann and fellow cyclists. The water bottles were in the carry bag of one of the other cyclists and I would have appreciated easier access to the water bottles. Johann was great-

Johann's 17 mile Sky to Sea Bike Tour was a fantastic complement to roaming Edinburgh by foot during the Festival Fringe. Among the 6 of us, only two had extensive biking experience. But we all found the pace, the beautiful sites across Edinburgh, and Johann's commentary perfect for our group of first-time visitors. Absolutely a bucket list experience to learn about the geography, culture and history of Edinburgh while touring in a cycling-friendly environment.

We rented bicycles from Tartan for our own self propelled and self guided tour of Scotland. From the get go Johann was helpful and we sorted out arrangements via email. Everything went as planned including dropping the bikes off at our hotel in Edinburgh and picking them up in downtown Glasgow at the end of our tour. The bikes and gear (panniers) worked flawlessly. Top marks for Johann who was both helpful and knowledgeable.

A group of us did the Edinburgh Sky to Sea Bike Tour in August. The ride was just under 17 miles, mainly on bike paths. Johan was super informative, kind, and made sure that all of us were safe and stayed together. It was a wonderful way to get out of the city center and view scenic areas of Edinburgh that we would not have ventured to on our own. The e-bikes were a perfect way to travel around. Highly recommend!

We wanted to see Scotland in a more personal way and Johann made that possible. We did both his city tour and the Scottish Highland tour and we were not disappointed. He adds a personal touch to his tours making you feel welcome and hospitable. The Highland tour was a bikers dream of combining beautiful scenery, and history along the way. This was an amazing tour. Really got to see parts of Edinburgh that only locals know about. Beautiful scenery throughout. Some steep climbs, but I know my limits and had reserved an electric bike. Johan was a wonderful guide. Will also mention that most of the tour is on designated bike trails.
