Seven of us took a 2-day tour and two 1-day tours with Brian while we were in Scotland. He was a wealth of valuable information, funny and showed us a great time. His knowledge of the history and beauty of Scotland allowed him to plan an incredible outing for us to visit rarely seen and major landmarks. Our family just took two and half week of Scotland trip with Brian from Wynding Road Tours as our driver/guide. Brian is such a wonderful person, engaged and well informed. We wholeheartedly recommend Wynding Road Tours for private tours of Scotland. Brian, our driver and tour guide, took care of our seven-day customised itinerary for us and we travelled in style and comfort in a Mercedes Vito Tourer. We are a retired couple and Brian took our mobility needs into account at every stop we made. A truly personalised tour! Much more important than that though, Brian’s knowledge about Scotland, the best historic places to visit, the best scenic stops for photoshoots and the best local restaurants, was superb. We had a 3 day tour leaving early January from Edinburgh. As a family with kids 10 and 13 we were looking forward to seeing Harry Potter and Outlander scenary as well as Scottish history. Brian is a fantastic tour leader and host and was amazing with the kids and great to chat to. We saw all the sites we wanted to see and were very happy with the overall tour. I would highly recommend this!

Brian was our tour guide for 4 days of the Scottish Highlands. He was incredible! I reccomend him so highly! Not only is he personable, but he is so knowledgeable about Scotland's history. I knew nothing about Scotland when our daughter and her friends booked this trip. He gave us so much information, I wish I had written it down. In fact, he explained who James was and how he came to write the King James Bible, that is still used today. He overheard us talking about Monty Python and next thing we knew, we were headed to Castle Doune whhere hte movie was filmed. He took pictures of us, took us on winding roads that none of us could have driven, made us laugh and made us reflect. The only thing that I would say is if one is an "on time" sort of individual, then Brian is not for you. We did miss our ferry, but then Brian drove us to more sites. I highly recommend him! There were 7 of us ranging in age from 72-35 and we all thoroughly enjoyed him. And he gave us time to shop!!! I regret I don't have a photo to upload but if you go to Brian's Instangram, there are plenty! He was well worth the money!!!

I can’t recommend Brian and Wynding Road Tours highly enough. We did a two day tour, looping from Edinburgh to an overnight stay in Inverness, then back to Edinburgh. We went to Balmoral, Stirling Castle, Clara Cairns, Culloden, Loch Ness, Glencoe, the Kelpies, Doune Castle (site of my favorite Monty Python film), saw the Wallace monument, had a close friendly encounter with highland hairy coos, and stopped for breaks and shopping whenever a village caught our eye. Brian was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. I learned a lot of history from his commentary and thoroughly enjoyed the anecdotes he shared with us. I’ve done 6 trips to various countries in Europe and this is the best travel $$$ I’ve ever spent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We can’t say enough good things about our two trips with Brian! He made it possible for our large family group (ages 1 to 75) to see and experience some of Scotland’s most memorable sites as a family. We have several small children, and Brian was exceptionally patient, kind, flexible, and fun. He even arranged a birthday cake at a distillery for my father in law’s 75th birthday! We just returned from an incredible day touring the Scottish Highlands with Wynding Road Tours. Brian was an amazing guide: friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. He had a recommended itinerary but was happy to customize it based on our family’s preferences. He provided a clean and comfortable van, water, and plenty of information about Scotch history and culture. It was the perfect way for our family of five to get outside Edinburgh and explore the Highlands for a day. Highly recommended!

Expectations from a private tour in Scotland...Safety, Affordability, Flexibility and Exclusivity for a small group. Wynding Road Tours had all these. We're a family of four with two boys in their 20s. Brian made us feel that he was driving his own family. Gave us a good price for booking a three day itinerary. We booked a hotel in Edinburgh and just branched out from there. You can also travel further and Brian can help arrange accommodations along the route. His vehicle was always clean, stocked with water and had USB ports. Once he got to know us he had the flexibility to tailor our tour and added a Whisky tour at Glenkinchie and Glenturret and golf at one of the oldest courses in the world, Musselburgh Old Course with hickory sticks then a trip to St. Andrews where they were preparing for the 150th Open! Whisky, golf and history! He frequently checked the weather to give us a perfect itinerary. That's the advantage of Wynding Road Tours. They can move things around for you quickly since the weather can change fairly quickly as well something other companies cannot do. Private, small, exclusive family tours where you're called by your name unlike private tours of larger companies which could not replicate the Wynding Road Tour itinerary. Let Brian know if you want to see more sites but spend less time at each or less sites but spend more time at each. Went on first week of June 2022 lots of sunlight so we were able to see a lot of sites. He was also able to give advice on train services and other questions you may have.
