The Pirate's Riddle was a great activity for us. We did it as an adult couple and although we were used to escape rooms and treasure trails, we found it challenging with some clever and unique puzzles to work out - it definitely got us thinking! I've lived in Edinburgh all my life and was delighted when the puzzles took us to places I hadn't been before. Sabi, the host, was great; we were met and handed a bag full of puzzles and clues and were told more about The Pirates Riddle before setting off on our own to explore. I think it took us about 2.5-3 hrs but that also included the time at the beginning, and the end to return the bag. I'd recommend if it's a windy or chilly day you take a jacket and hat as it can get quite breezy at the top of 'Calton Island'! A great morning out and would highly recommend.

The adventure takes place near some of the most emblematic places in the city. A different way of sightseeing, with very original riddles and enigmas.

It has a history perfectly suited to the place and the most important historical figures of the place, also turning out to be an interesting and educational activity.

You always have the possibility to contact the "Game master", so it is very difficult to get lost.

    100% recommendable!!

Fantastic experience, the whole thing was really well organised and all the puzzles really engaging and clever with just the right amount of help on hand if we were struggling. Our group was a mixture of locals and visitors so it was a great way of seeing the city through new eyes for the locals and getting to see new things for the visitors. Thanks so much Sabi, perfect hen weekend activity

Absolutely appalled to have booked this activity, travelled to Edinburgh at significant cost, waited at Carlton Hill as instructed and no-one turned up. After waiting for a time, I called the number which rang out so I had to leave a voicemail only to then receive a generic e mail saying it was cancelled. No apology, no offer of recompense of expenses, not even an offer to re-arrange the booking. This was a week ago and I have still had no contact from this company.

Hello Lorraine, I'm so sorry about this. The tour was cancelled due to a personal emergency a few hours before the tour started. It was cancelled and fully refunded. We had no idea you had still gone and had been waiting on Calton Hill. Like I said it was truly an emergency and I was not able to be on the phone so I trusted Tripadvisor to let you know via email that it was indeed cancelled and didn't have time to get in touch personally. I am sorry about any inconvenience. Please email us if you have any problems or didn't receive the refund.

This game has been awesome! Ive been several times in the city and i have seen it in a new way with this adventure. The riddles and craftmanship of the game is awesome and perfectly integrated with some of the monuments of Edinburgh. It is challenging but totally worth it!

This game was SO much fun, we've done a lot of escape rooms and other outdoor escape rooms and nothing has been quite as exciting as this. This actually uses features of the city to solve the puzzles which made it so much more engaging. We got so caught up in it and the puzzles were actually really hard which was so good!

Thanks so much for creating such a cool game.

I would highly recommend doing this experience! My husband and I completed it together in about 3 hours, with an hour break for lunch in the middle (4 hours in total). The story behind the treasure hunt was interesting too and we enjoyed it so much we're planning on completing another of the games offered by Sabi in Edinburgh with friend's very soon.Thank you Sabi for a memorable and fun day!

What a great game! It is really cleverly thought out, with puzzles that get you thinking and are fun to work through. Being from Edinburgh I've done a lot of activities in the city, this was certainly something different and I couldn't recommend it enough. A great way to spend the afternoon!

I booked this for my friends birthday who was visiting. Sabi the tour organizer was so attentive and helpful throughout the hunt, and it was such a fun and perfectly challenging afternoon. The puzzles were so clever. Would definitely recommend for groups of all ages (and a great way to learn a bit about Edinburgh as well)

We did this on a rainy October afternoon and got a bit of a telling off for not dressing appropriately. As locals we're fairly use to the dreich days so this was a bit odd. After that, it was fairly challenging but generally fun. The treasure hunt involved a lot of texting back and forth and as someone who doesn't use their phone much I think my enjoyment was lessened by the endless texts and asking where we were. At one point I got sent answers I didn't ask for so ended up sitting watching my friends try to figure out the next stage without me.

It felt the organiser hadn't want to run it on a rainy afternoon and when we said we were happy to continue after being given the option to change dates half an hour before, we ended up getting rushed through the hunt.

We also ended up snapping a string to a prop and I got an angry text. It turned out the same thing had happened three times that week by different parties.

The bad humour that we got at the end about this left us all feeling subdued and like this might not be our thing.
