    Unique experience and original places
Darcy made the tour an unique experience. Even after a week of sightseeing and two different tours (Mary King’s Close, Harry Potter) lots of new stories and locations.

Definitely a gem of a tour
Darcy our tour guide was so full of enthusiasm and knowledge, it made the tour a pleasure to do. She gave us lots of facts and ancient stories throughout our trip down the Royal Mile. Definitely would recommend this tour and fudge/tablet was lovely too.

    Royal mile tour
We had a grand time. Our guide was dressed as Sherlock Holmes and led us down the Royal Mile pointing out many facts & myths about that part of Edinburgh. He was energetic and entertaining and obviously enjoyed his task. Also the fudge sample we were given was delicious. We’re making that shop, The Fudge House on Canongate, a regular stop.

    Really good discovery
It was not our first time in Edinburgh but we still learn plenty of things about the people who lived here before! We discovered hidden gems in the city too. The experience was really immersive, we loved it ! Thanks

    Enjoyable even in the rain.
Fun even in the pouring rain! The morning of our tour was cold, windy & non-stop rain. BUT our tour guide had such enthusiasm, he made us not mind the weather so much. So sorry, I’ve forgotten his name, but he had so many tidbits & interesting historical facts and showed us little “gems” we never would’ve found on our own. Short & sweet tour on the Royal Mile, and we’d highly recommend it!

Would thoroughly recommend this tour to all ages however there is a lot of walking on different levels so it is not accessible for all. Witch Luna who guided us around was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun and lighthearted with the twist of the gruesome truths of Edinburgh’s past. Excellent!

Katie killed it! We had a mix of me (American) and Scots of all ages. She kept her humor light and the tour was never condescending with the information, just funny and interesting. I learned a lot and the respectful tone in which Katie took toward the history and how it’s written and rewritten all the time made everyone on the tour know that we had details that honored the men and women who suffered for being “witches” with accuracy. 10/10 would recommend if you like history with a witchy twist and an easy way to wander around beautiful Edinburgh.

Brilliant experience in York.

Had some great banter with the "witch"

She was witty, funny and very knowledgable. Occasionally the background noise was quite loud but we still heard everything she said.

Next time I suppose she could just turn the perpetrators of the noise into toads!!

Problem solved!!

I went on this tour with my husband and sister. My husband and I are both history nerds. All three of us are interested in witchcraft (possibly because of a shared love of Harry Potter). We were not disappointed! We learned so much about the history of witches in Edinburgh, going to important sites and learning more about them at each stop. Ashlyn (witch name Nix) was an absolutely amazing tour guide! She had fun while explaining the history in a way that was entertaining while still respectful to the tragic treatment of witches in Edinburgh.

The tour was led by "Emerald" and done completely in character as a benevolent witch. It takes roughly an hour and will teach you some nice facts about Edinburgh's history - not all of them witch related. Our tour guide was extremely enthusiastic and funny. Highly recommended.

Our witch guide Ashlyn was very entertaining and informative. A lot of people interrupted her with requests for pictures (because she’s dressed like a witch) and she dealt with them very gracefully and expediently. She’s an excellent actress (I mean, “witch”) and I enjoyed the tour immensely!

Our guide Katie could have just 'mailed it in' as we were her only customers for our tour, but she did quite the opposite. We felt we got the full benefit of her knowledge and appreciation of Edinburgh.
Not unlike another reviewer's experience we were there during Fringe - which was a hoot- - and Katie navigated the crush as well as anyone could have expected.
It was particularly amusing to watch how many children (and adults) did a double take on her costume. The raucous wind played havoc with her hat, but she would not abandon her look.

Our tour guide “Nix” was funny, personable, and very informative. It couldn’t have been better. We had a great time learning of the city’s occult history without calling too deep into Harry Potter lore.

What a fabulous way to see the Old Town and hear the history of both the witches and the city overall. Odette our “witch” was fabulous - got into character, told great factual and funny stories and indulged our 10 year old daughter who loves witches and Harry Potter with her questions and discussion. A must be done if you love history and a good story!
