Terrible service, tour cancelled and still no refund
Sep 2019
I really wanted to love this company but after having our Stirling tour cancelled on the morning, and us waiting in Glasgow on the side of the road trying to find out what happened, we finally reached the office and were told: “we couldn’t get a car”. The only message we had was the day before that the tour would start half an hour late. We were promised an “immediate refund” of our $300 which over 3 weeks later hasn’t been forthcoming at all. They have ignored my travel agent and my messages, phone calls, emails etc. So, I’m writing this to let others know because it looks from other recent reviews also that other people are starting to have the same experience.

Good Afternoon Gabbie and Joe, We are so sorry that your experience in Scotland was tarnished by us. Unfortunately 2019 was an eye opener in terms of trust and a number of our suppliers, namely buses, were sub-standard and the service became unreliable, one day leaving us and our guides stranded at Stirling Castle. We are absolutely devastated that this affected our standard and the amount of refunds requested was almost impossible to manage as per our usual terms. We thank you for your patience and as, a result of this last year, we have reigned back our services and offerings back to . what we do best, small, niche, quality tours with experts on Scotland, Whisky, Outlander and the history. We hope to make it up to you in the future. Yours Aye Catriona Stevenson Owner

Colorful and comfortable way to see some of Scotland's finest landmarks
Jul 2019 • Couples
We had to book at the last minute and were so pleased that Slainte Scotland could accommodate us. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our tour group consisted of one other tourist and our guide Ross, who stood out in his pink and white camo print kilt. Ross made us feel at home and was helpful answering questions about Scotland and the places were visited. We appreciated his knowledge of Scottish history. We enjoyed all of the tour stops. At Stirling Castle, we were lucky to get Frank as our guide. He provided an enthusuiastic and interactive explanation of the castle's history. In a rare sunny summer day, the stop at Loc Lomond gave us some great photo opportunities. Touring by car was definitely an advantage over a bus trip. My advice- ask for Ross as your guide!

Thank You Barry Much!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Here's another stellar review for Slainte Tours and particularly our guide Barry. My husband and I got great one-on-one service with Barry, as we were the only ones booked for today. He picked us up in a sparkling clean van that was easy to get in and out of when needed. Barry was very familiar with the area, and gave us all kinds of good information. Barry went the extra mile with us, from making sure we met up with a guided tour at Stirling Castle to suggesting menu items at the Drover Inn, to making an unplanned stop to see some coos! This was a great tour that did not require a lot of walking (except in the castle). A great day out from start to finish. Barry is a natural tour guide and skilled driver. Worth every penny! Thanks Barry!--from Tim and Jeanette from Florida USA

Excellent Day Trip with a Great Guide!
May 2019 • Friends
Our tour with Slainte Scotland Tours was everything we hoped for in a small group day trip. Haymond was a lovely guide full of local knowledge and history as well as Scottish lore. This was a well timed trip that didn't feel like you had to rush everywhere, and there was great conversation with the guide while in the car with a more one on one experience than the big bus tours. Photo stops at the Lochs, lunch at a historic pub and a great local distillery tour rounded out a perfect girls trip weekend.

Awesome Tour Courtesy Of Barry.
May 2019 • Couples
We were picked up in central Glasgow by Barry in a brand new bus. We departed on time and headed to Auchentoshan whiskey distillery in comfort.
Having enough time to wander the grounds and take photos, we began out whiskey tour. the tour guide was informative, professional and witty in true local fashion. The whiskey tasting was generous and a pre-breakfast treat for a chilly Scottish day.
Before reaching Loch Lomond we lunched at The Drover's Inn, reputedly the oldest pub in the UK.
Lunch over, Loch Lomond was a visual treat, mountains, lakes and sunshine.
Stirling Castle is a beautifully preserved architectural icon.
barry was the perfect host during the day tour. His banter was professional, knowledgeable, professional, timely and witty.
Thanks for a memorable day.

Just Incredible
May 2019 • Couples
We had the pleasure of spending 10 hours in the company of Slainte Tours Barry, hands down one of the funniest wittiest guys we have ever spent time with.
His depth of knowledge of the areas we drove through was staggering.
Stopped for a fantastic lunch at one of Scotland's oldest pubs where he regalled us with his amusing ancedotes.
Highly recommended it was the highlight of our time in Scotland.

Barry made our day !!!!
Mar 2019 • Couples
We had the pleasure of doing a private one day tour with this company while my husband and I were in Scotland for a short time.
We had read the previous reviews on Trip Advisor and booked purely on this.
On the appointed day we were met outside our accommodation in a SUV by none other than Barry who was to be our guide for the day.
As you will have read before, he is the main guide employed by Slainte Tours and is an absolute star. His knowledge warmth enthusiasm and obvious love for his country ensured that we had a special day touring through the beautiful Scotland countryside.
He reguarly stopped at the most scenic spots for photographs as well as explaining all about life in Scotland both good and bad.
It was these little personal touches along with his choice of rest breaks and lunch stops that left us feeling like we had been privileged to have a little glimpse into the 'true Scotland' and to have experienced a day with a 'real Scotsman'.
A thoroughly immersive and entertaining day we were extremely satisfied and would have no hesitation in recommending others try this company.
