- 1We'll take you to this amazing place of a gorge of the River Clyde, where waterfalls come after waterfalls and even when you think you have seen it all, there's more. There are even beautiful historic buildings around, including a small museum which you can take a look at free of charge. The Falls of Clyde is a Wildlife Reserve, an UNESCO World Heritage Site in Scotland with breathtaking scenery, a beautiful woodland walk, where you can hear birds chirping from everywhere and if we are lucky enough we'll see some badgers or even otters enjoying the surroundings just like you or me. There are over a 100 species of birds who live here, including dippers, ravens and kingfishers. The woodland walk does need good guidance throughout which takes you alongside the gorge and we can even take you to the other side of the river, which is less known and gives you a better view of some of the waterfalls. Some parts of the walk take more guidance than others, as you might end up taking longer on the hike if you don't know the place as much as the locals. Plenty of lookouts where you can stop and take photos and take lovely memories with you or if you get a bit tired, we can definitely takes some breaks, so you can catch your breath. This is quite a long hike/walk, about 3 hours, so you'll get lots of exercise, but is relatively easy, no climbing involved and perfect for any age group, specially a day out with the kids.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 277ashleem0 contributionsStunning!Such a brilliant tour! Our guide was very informative and made sure we were very safe! Beautiful views and luckily quite quiet when we went! Deffo recommend getting your feet wet and getting really involved in the tour (the water was low so it only came to our ankles but it can rise)Written 30 September 2024
- susansP4552LC0 contributionsmust seeThis hike was absolutely beautiful. You do need to have the ability to hike down a steep slope/old stone steps. Proper shoes are a must.Written 23 September 2024
- Kenneth F0 contributionsA great hike/climbA fantastic day trip. Beautiful views, a great walk/climb/wade to and through the gorge to see the devils pulpit. Our guide was absolutely there for us making sure we didn’t put a foot in the wrong place. I would not try this site without a guide. We saw others wandering not knowing where the only trail down is. Several people followed our group. If you are infirm this is not a trip for you.Written 1 September 2024
- dancetolead0 contributionsExciting, muddy, wear hiking shoesWear hiking shoes. Teenagers can get away with sneakers with good tread. Adults need hiking shoes. The mud and the steps down are rickety. Great experience. We did not wade into the thigh high water to get to the beach with the pulpit, but 2 others on the tour did. Freezing water in the summer. You take off shoes, pull up your pants past your thighs and hold on to each other to get through. Exciting! Beautiful area. Do not try without a tour guide as you can't see the bottom. Would do again.Written 21 August 2024
- 400katyah0 contributionsGreat time!We had a great time on this hike. We went on this hike as part of our annual girls (family) trip and the stairs down were a little much for our mother, but she enjoyed the views from above. Would caution anyone with even slightly limited mobility or dexterity that it will be a challenge. My sister and I had a great time going into the gorge and wading through the water to get great photos of the waterfall. Ferenc was a great guide and showed us how to do everything safely as it can be very slippery.Written 23 May 2024
- StarlitN0 contributionsGreat Exploring AdventureWe did this excursion in a cold month and for the reason of likely having few participants other than ourselves; we were spot on. There were two of us and we had a great time exploring the Devils Pulpit. We were given time to take pictures, our guide took pictures for us with our phone, and we were given opportunity to ask questions. The trip was instructed with great safety. Ferenac does drive fast but I never felt endangered and was happy for prompt transport. He even dropped us off at Gllascow Chapel and Necropolis on the way back to the meeting point. We would definitely take this adventure again. Thanks!!!Written 3 February 2024
- 11badriaa0 contributionsHidden Glen ExperienceAwesome hike, not so far from City Centre. Tour guide was friendly and very clear about which path to cross. Without tour guide, it would be easy to get injured if you don’t know the area. The scenery is breathtaking and worth the hike, however I did not cross the river as it was too cold and didn’t have the right clothes. So if you want to cross the river, keep in mind to wear the right clothes (gloves too, as you will be grabbing thing climbing down). Overall, a really nice experience and would go again!Written 31 October 2023
- Jumana a0 contributionsNight trip to Devil's PulpitFerenc was very nice and welcoming person , he made sure that we were safe through the whole trip , he was very helpful when he dropped us close to our place on our way back. The trip was something else, very halloweenish , although I don't recommend to take that trip at night otherwise you will miss all the details. The driving was a bit reckless , for a person with motion sickness it would not be the best thing.Written 29 October 2023
- penel0peanneh0 contributionsA very disappointing family outing -- never againOur family of seven took DreamChaser Adventurers tour along with one other gentleman. Our driver instructed us into the van, acting like he was in a great hurry. He drove recklessly at high speeds on rain soaked roads, increasing the impression that he was in a "rush" to be somewhere else. He never told us his name until I asked him upon arriving at the Wheel. He said it was "Fennants" like tenants? He gave us little information at either sight. He acted like he was doing us a big favor by letting us stay to watch the wheel rotate. He gave us only 25 minutes at the Kelpies and then rushed us back to the starting point and dumped us off 1 hour before the tour was supposed to end. The Trip Advisor website clearly states it is a 4 hour tour https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g186534-d19495044-Visit_the_Two_Most_Iconic_Landmarks_of_Scotland-Glasgow_Scotland.html The other complainants were misinformed, the advertisement did not include the opportunity to ride the wheel. Though there were other positive reviews for other drivers who were named we did not have this information before we signed up in order to request one of them. Our conclusion: It would have been cheaper, less stressful and better quality to have booked an Uber and bought a Tour book.Written 5 October 2023
- brenthambrother0 contributionswhistle stop tourI think the guides last job was as F1 racing driver. Make sure you strap in!! The visit to the Kelpies involved a brisk 20 minute walk there and back - unfortunately I dont do brisk 40 minute walks anymore - all to save £3 by not using the official [nearer] car park. This is not a leisurely trip. Felt I was being hurried along all the time. Probably cheaper to take a black cab from Glasgow It would have been nice if the boat trip at the Falkirk wheel had been includedWritten 27 September 2023
- 792marthaw0 contributionsDriver knew nothing for very pricy tourHungarian driver told us he knew nothing about either of these sites. Di d not allow for time to ride the Falkirk wheel. Very pricy tour and very disappointing. Would not recommend this tour at all.Written 13 September 2023
- T9411IMcarolynk0 contributionsDisappointingWe were rushed at The Kelpies. We were given 45 minutes to walk quite a distance to see them and walk back again. No time to go to gift shop or inspect The Kelpies properly.Written 2 July 2023
- DanielRstractpressio0 contributionsA fun nature experienceSo many good photos. It was just the tour guide, my dad and myself. Guide was very patient. Anyone should be able to hike this. It is a little rough and you might get messy but it is doable. Due to the fact there were only two of us we got back early. The glen was really nice. Be warned if you go in the water, it might be freezing cold. Our guide was great and helped everyone through hiking the whole trail.Written 22 June 2023

This was an amazing experience. The host was very polite, picked me and my friend up in the city centre. We felt like VIPs travelling in a black Mercedes minibus. Although the route to the site goes through mostly on a highway, we thoroughly enjoyed the ride, was not too fast, so we could still gaze out to the passing fields dotted with grazing animals.
Once we arrived, we went for a three hour walk in the forest, alongside the Clyde river bank. The walk is quite easy as there’s a path that you are following and Ferenc pointed out some beautiful flowers and interesting moss formations alongside the path.
We stopped at several lookouts to take some beautiful photos of the waterfalls on the river. Ferenc offered to take some amazing photos from different angles, with the waterfall behind us. He was very knowledgeable about the area, took us to the other side of the river where not a lot of people go to so we could even have a better view of the area.
We had some interesting conversations with him, about Scotland, the Experiences he does, his travels and of course, the scuba diving he has done around the world. He is a very interesting person to spend the afternoon with. Very energetic and friendly personality. Feels like you have known him for a while, which made the Experience even more enjoyable.
The place he takes you to is just breathtaking, definitely worth a visit which we couldn’t have done it on our own, not without a car for sure. Hope to go to one of his other Experiences in the future.

I hesitated to write a review because the operator of this tour is clearly a hard-working person but I do have concerns about this tour.
1) The guide climbed the guardrail at a scenic lookout over a rapids portion of the river and while straddling it, first encouraged me to do the same, then when I declined to do so, offered to take the photo himself, only coming down when I walked away.
2) The driving was fast, aggressive with abrupt stops, failing to attend to the flow of traffic. Nausea inducing.
3) The guide kept trampling on plants and roots that were off the beaten path, explaining that he was searching for wood suitable to make a slingshot. This didn't seem consistent with the spirit of a hike at a "UNESCO Heritage and Wildlife Reserve".
4) The timing of the tour is awkward, as it starts so late that the shops and museum at the site are closed upon arrival and upon return to Glasgow, it is late for dinner.
The tour guide was also unable to answer any of the questions I had about the region. It wasn't so much a tour as a walk on a trail beside a river with a friendly, enthusiastic complete stranger. Overall, I felt as though this tour operator could benefit from apprenticing with an existing tour operator to learn the safety and ecology standards of the industry. You're better off taking the bus out and doing this hike on your own timing and at your own pace.

I am really really surprised about the above review as I must admit that I have this Hiking Experience delivered on other websites as well and I have never ever had issues with any of the guests about this Experience.
For this reason, I would like to clarify in details of what happened during this hiking experience.
First, I would like to highlight that if any guests are coming from a country where you get a lot of sunshine and fair weather, you need to take into consideration that you are coming to Scotland, where weather changes from one minute to the other and unfortunately we do have a lot of rain, but this is why we have such beautiful greenery.
The above guest and her partner arrived to our meeting point in pouring rain which already set the mood for them for the Experience.
Unfortunately I cannot change the weather, so if you feel like you cannot embrace Scotland’s weather conditions, then hiking in Scotland is not ideal for you.
Now, let me answer the points mentioned here.
1. I am appalled here of the complete misinterpretation of what actually happened during the Experience. I never ever asked the guest to climb any rails ! I only offered them that if they want a better photo with the waterfall behind, I can take a photo of them from a higher point (by climbing myself up). They would have just stood in front of the rail, while I would take the photo. But obviously they completely misunderstood me.
2. As regards to my driving, this route towards the Heritage site, is mostly on a motorway (highway), so a certain speed is a must as I cannot go slower than the other cars. You need to keep up with the traffic. I keep to the speed limit and I take extra precaution during my driving at all times. I’m sorry if the guest felt unsafe but I cannot go really slow on a highway.
3. I do not even know where to start explaining this. I do have a slingshot which the guest asked about how I made it and I explained it that I made it myself, but never went off the path to search for wood for slingshot. I already have one and never meant to go look for another to make. So I’m not sure why she is even trying to twist the story this way. I always kept to the path, even showed some flora and fauna on the way, alongside the path, but haven’t gone off, so I kind of feel betrayed that the guest would write something like this, completely twisting the story. She asked me about my slingshot and I told her my story about how I learned to make one in my childhood and how I made this one in the past and this is what she writes about ? I feel like almost talking to a journalist who you tell something, and then you see a completely different story in the newspaper. I feel sad for her that she had to somehow twist it so it suits her mood.
4. This is a hiking experience. I never ever mention in the description of the Experience that we would visit museums or shops. If you would like to go shopping then this is not the Experience for you.
Yes, this is correct in some way as she asked about when this place became UNESCO Heritage site and I must admit that it skipped my mind the exact year so I didn’t want to lie. However I never considered that this would be such a major issue. I do my best to take guest around this place, show them the Nature trail around this beautiful place, maybe take to the “extreme” to take the best photos for my guests and all of my guests so far very much enjoyed this place so I am sorry for these guests feeling so off about it as Scotland is a beautiful country and no matter the weather, it is always enjoyable.
As regards to doing this Experience on your own, yes, it can be done if you are willing to take a bus to a nearby village and walk for couple of miles to the site and back. Then you might even get lost on the trail but hey, if you want to do it on your own, anyone has a right to decide.
All in all, I might not be your run of the mill tour guide but I take pride in that. I’m not trying to take people on a group tour with rattling off information after information alongside the road and getting everybody to run to the next stop. I would like everyone to enjoy their surroundings on their own pace, show them the nature and let them enjoy it without too much interruptions.
