About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BethS5200 contributionsBest Food Tour Ever! Our guide, Mhairi , was amazing. The places that she took us on our food tour were delicious and she was very knowledgeable about the history of all of the places we visited. I would highly recommend that you take this tour.Written 26 August 2024
- sarah m0 contributionsWould highly recommendSuch a knowledgeable guide, there was nothing he didn’t seem to know. The food and drink stop choices were excellent, would highly recommend.Written 21 February 2023
- sachaontheroad0 contributionsReally worth doing! We had a lovely time and great chat with our guide Keith. He was super knowledgeable about all the relevant facts surrounding the sights we saw. He's a great bloke! We went on the 5pm tour in winter which in hindsight wasn't too smart - it was cold, but the walks in between the meals helped digest the haggis - i loved it! I'm not a whiskey fzn, but that tasting was good fun and informative. The down side was the cold seafood entree in winter - probably need to review that choice in colder months. We would've paid more to have good quality matched wines with fine dining - maybe 2 tour options? Anyway, that's the reason for the 4, not a 5.Written 14 December 2022
- eigam0 contributionsBest Birthday present in a while.Excellent tour with Rebecca, a great way to explore the city centre, eat and learn about the history of Glasgow. Great food will definitely visit the restaurant's again.Written 18 October 2022

- StephenInWSeattle0 contributionsGlasgow Knowledge and Bites! We started our tour with another experienced foodie couple, Jason & Sue. With Katie leading the tour, a wonderful journey of discovering Glasgow through history, food and buildings progressed to an amazing finale. Starting at Central Station, we purposefully wandered from location to location leaning and tasting along the way. The portions were generous, delicious and hard to not eat it every flavorful evite. Bring your appetite and consider leaving a little on the plate at a couple of stops. The places we visited were unique, special and welcoming, while serving up spectacular flavors. This tour was fabulous considering the food alone, but Katie was fun, knowledgeable and a pleasure during our tour experience. This is a must tour when in Glasgow! Thank you Katie for making it so special!Written 24 August 2022
- raquelp8880 contributionsWonderful food tour experience in GlasgowOur tour on July 7 was with Katie. We could not agree more with the other reviews that having Katie lead us to the various stops on the tour was just like spending a few hours with a friend, or having a family member show us around their city. She really is such a lovely, personable guide. There was more than enough food offered on this tour that we did not need to eat dinner afterward, and the tour certainly is not lacking for unique stops with their own unique history and dishes. We were only in Glasgow for two days, so finding a guide to lead us over the span of a few hours to some of the more distinctive venues with their local specialties provided an incredible return on the time and cost of this tour. The food really was delicious, and no two stops had the same atmosphere--each one was fantastic in its own way. We would highly recommend this tour whether you appreciate local food or simply learning about the local history.Written 23 July 2022
- X3853QSdons0 contributionsA delicious intro to Glasgow!Great! The restaurant’s on this tour are fantastic we revisited several of them during our short 36 Hour stay. Food & a touch of history helped to establish just how much fun Glasgow and Scotland would be. Highly recommend day 1 tour. Our guide Katie was nimble as two people who showed up didn’t pre-notify of allergies, she quickly called the restaurants ahead and adjusted meals. Please if you have dietary requirements pre notify for the benefit of the others on the tour.Written 11 June 2022
- Tacothetown0 contributionsReview for customer serviceI had booked an Eat Walk Glasgow tour for the last day of our vacation in April but long story short, British Airways canceled one of our flights, the only replacement flight that would work was a full day sooner so we had to skip the tour, and I did not hear of this until we were within Eat Walk policy for no refunds, but Alan kindly refunded 50% and offered a discount if we take a tour in the future. I just thought that was outstanding customer service and it helped ease the disappointment at missing the tour and frustration with British Airways (who had also delayed our flight over to the UK by 26 hours, sheesh!). Thank you Alan and team and I really hope I can make one of your tours one day!Written 21 May 2022
- J_bousada0 contributionsGreat trip & don't eat before!Thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Jonathan. Fantastic knowledge and a great tour guide. Great insight to the country & city of Glasgow, while the restaurant/bar selections were well chosen. Lots of food to be eaten, and drinks were well diverse.Written 12 December 2021
- georginamills20140 contributionsGlasgow GluttonyThoroughly enjoyed our afternoon walking around Glasgow eating and drinking! Osh our guide was excellent and his extended knowledge of Glasgow history and architecture was a bonus. The chosen venues were varied for the food and drink and very good quality. It was like a 5 course meal so we were suitably full by the end. Also we were well looked after by all the friendly staff. We will return to a couple of them with friends and family. Most certainly recommend this to anyone who has visitors for a day out and even locals - you don't always know what great stuff you have on your own doorstop. Thanks to Alan and team for running these tours.Written 16 November 2021
- Redfrenchy0 contributionsGreat food & drink tourVery informative tour with our guide Johnathan who was very knowledgeable. He took us to five different restaurants and we tasted delicious traditional dishes accompanied with beverages. Great way to visit part of the city and get a taste of Scottish cuisine. - MTY260 contributionsWhat a great dayWent on the Tour in typical Glasgow weather. The tour though more than made up for the windy wet day. Went to 5 different establishments, our guide Rebecca was very knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into the history of Glasgow as well as the establishments visited. Food was excellent, totally recommended if you want to visit some of Glasgow's finest food places as well as learn about the history of this great city.Written 6 March 2020
- SDSDallas0 contributionsMost Excellent Walk!My daughter and I went on this Eat Walk tour and had a great time! We got to taste all things Scottish. We got lots of food, and ate at all kinds of different places. We went back to a few of the places to have a drink or get dinner. The person giving the tour was such an excellent guide and so fun. I would do this tour again, and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get a "Taste" of Scotland.Written 9 January 2020

We had a fabulous tour! We were a largish family group and we ended up having a private tour by ourselves with our guide Mhairi! She was absolutely lovely! Very outgoing, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful afternoon with her! She took us to spots that we would not have known to visit and she gave us lots of history and information about the city of Glasgow. We also learned a lot about different dishes and drinks that are a part of Scottish life. We enjoyed all of the places we stopped at and loved the food and drink at each stop. We even returned later that day to one of the stops! Also want to give a shout out to the company for helping me when I was trying to add some additional family members to my reservation. They were so helpful and accommodating. I would 100% percent recommend this tour and tour guide Mhairi!!

Great foodie-tour of Glasgow, despite the rain. Our guide Mhairi was superb, and we had a great time sampling some delicious Scottish food and drink. I thought is was quite expensive, but similarly prices compared to others I've tried, and with all the food and drink you get, it's a fair price. There is a bit of walking around, but no hills or anything, so anyone should be able to manage - mostly just sitting in some nice establishments, chatting about nice food and drink.

My sister and I booked a food tour in Glasgow through Eat Walk Tours when we heard the company highly recommended in a YouTube video discussing the highlights of the city. We were not disappointed! Our tour guide, Katie, met us next to the Fireman Statute next to the train station, and walked us to five different restaurants/bars for all our meals. On the way, she would point out the architecture and tell us stories related to the city’s history. The tour was incredibly interesting and the food was excellent. We highly recommend the tour to anyone wanting to explore the culinary side of Glasgow. Thank you to Eat Walk Tours for setting up a fantastic culinary experience, and to Katie for her expertise, friendliness and warmth. Truly one of the highlights of our time in Glasgow!

I’ve just had a horrible interaction with the owner of this company. After spending over one hour on a call with PayPal as I was charged twice, this tour company’s owner called me to say basically that it wasn’t her fault. She repeated this three times and when I politely asked what I should do next she said; “I’m not telling you what to do, you decide.” and “I’m not comfortable with our interaction so I’m cancelling your trip”! Gaslighting! I predict this trip was not busy enough because there were only 4 of us booked in total and she’s decided to cancel all of us and have tomorrow afternoon off. What a Snowflake. Grow up.

Hi Julie Sarah. Your booking was made through Viator. We only have access to payment information for bookings made directly on our website.
To assist you, we logged a customer service support request on your behalf with Viator.
When you asked "should I contact Viator?" I responded that you could call or email them or wait for them to contact you and that in my experience they were prompt in contacting customers when we flag an issue to them.
As you were unhappy with my explanation, I felt we wouldn't be able to meet your expectations and offered to authorise Viator to cancel and fully refund your booking out with the free cancellation period.
As the conversation progressed, I judged that cancelling your booking was the most appropriate course of action.

Louie was a very knowledgeable guide. I only wish the company had more food stops on the tour. In every walking food tour I’ve done in other cities around the world, there are 6 stops + a small sample platter of each restaurant’s top dishes. This tour only had 4 stops & 1 small dish at each location. Overall, the restaurants that were chosen were great and the tour guide was engaging & kind.

So glad you enjoyed the tour with Louie. We decided to switch from 5 restaurants to 4 to better support our restaurants, guides and guests. For guests, it means a 3 hour instead of 4 hour tour giving more time for other activities and reducing walking distances. It also means we can offer the tour 7 days/week. For the restaurants, we're able to secure bookings in the best locations and support their business with a higher spend. For our guides it means they can do 2 tours in a day instead of 1 which supports their well being.

Fist of all, the booking process and communication with Alan and Sara was excellent. My thought was that this might be a good way to get an overview of Glasgow and have an early dinner. Well, the tour with Osh was so much more than that. Our group of six met Osh just outside the Glasgow Central Train Station for a 4pm private tour. After introductions and a wee bit of history about the beautiful train station, we went for our first tasting. The steak and potatoes was both beautifully served in copper pans and delicious. The portion was huge for a tasting which was a good preview of the rest of the tour. We had haggis, tatties, and neeps at our next stop along with a single barrel-aged whisky. None of us had ever had haggis before but there were clean plates all around. We had great conversation with Osh about the history and architecture of the City Centre. Osh answered all of our many questions. Osh gave us information and insights about culture and politics that we would never had otherwise learned as tourists popping in and out of museums. At our next stop we had wonderful local scallops and black pudding with a blackberry gin cocktail. Then we stopped for local cheeses and crackers with a beer from the oldest brewery in Glasgow. The last stop was for sticky pudding and ice cream for dessert. We had a fabulous time getting to know Osh and his adopted city. Overall, we had 5 stops with plenty of food and drinks at 3 of those. The tour was an excellent value, but an ever better time.

Tour guides were very knowledgeable about the city, restaurants and pub options which Glasgow has to offer. The dining and drinks pairing selections by the tour guides were spot on! Very good variety and not for from each other. Definitely a 5+ stars experience for my taste. We truly enjoyed this tour program on our 1st night visit to Glasgow.

If you want to truly experience the Glasgow foodie scene, this walking tour is for you. We were fortunate enough to be the only one's signed up the day we went, so we had a private experience with our guide Osh, who was fabulous. We learned lots about the city between our four stops at eateries we probably wouldn't have found on our own. We had everything from Hereford Beef to haggis to Cullen skink and sticky toffee pudding. We even went to a private club to taste a unique single cask whiskey. The tour took about 3 hours and we enjoyed every minute. Highly recommended!

Lei our tour guide was sensitive to everybody’s needs, knowledgeable and flexible to changes resulting from time challenges at one of the pubs.
The food was good and we only had to wait for our food at one pub.
Overall good exposure to Glasgow history and local cuisine.

We had a fantastic time! Our tour guide Rebecca was really knowledgable and great company. She took us around many of the sites of central Glasgow, providing relevant and interesting facts. We visited five pubs and restaurants, where we sampled many local dishes that together made up a very generous and delicious five course meal. We also sampled Scottish whiskey, gin and beer.
Rebecca and the venues were all very COVID conscious, so we felt very safe.
Such a great way to experience the city, I’ll be looking to do similar trips in the future, when we visit other cities, if they are as good as this I’ll be very happy 😊
