- KathyO3970 contributionsExcellent day tour from Glasgow!Marc was an excellent guide for this day tour. We were very interested in seeing several castles during our visit to Scotland, and this tour by Timberbush Tours took us by a few. Unfortunately Invereray Castle was closed the day we were there, but Marc made some extra stops as a bonus. This tour was one of the first day tours on our 2-week trip, and it got us off to a great start!Written 10 October 2024
- Nikita C0 contributionsWee Davey the legendary story teller and history buff 💪The Timberbush tour with Wee Davey is not just an educational journey through Scotland’s history but also a fun and engaging experience thanks to his witty Scottish humor. He has a knack for making history lively, sharing facts about why the trees near distilleries turn black, and sprinkling his insights with humor, keeping everyone entertained. Whether he's discussing the gossip surrounding the Stone of Destiny or the infamous betrayal of the MacDonalds by the Campbells during the Glencoe Massacre, he adds a light-hearted, playful touch to even the darker moments of history. One of the highlights was spotting wildlife, including a baby vole (or shrew!) and the majestic Highland cows, all while listening to Wee Davey’s clever quips about life in the Highlands. His charm makes the tour unforgettable, blending Scotland’s rich history with a good dose of local banter. #ScottishHumor #WeeDavey #TimberbushTours #HighlandCows #OutlanderFacts #StoneOfDestiny #ClanRivalries #GlencoeMassacreWritten 2 October 2024
- drew121920200 contributionsGreat introduction to Scotland national parksLoved it, we covered more ground than expected, saw many aspects of Scotland’s beautiful landscape, well planned stops, and a great informative journey thanks to our well-informed and witty guide/driver Charlie. Highly recommend.Written 22 September 2024
- mammamac130 contributionsLong dayAlthough I enjoyed the majority of time spent was driving. And they express themselves. I was most excited to see was Highland cows. Was dropped in a parking lot and had to walk across the highway to Attempt to see cows from very far away. Two of the stops in towns was disappointing as so many of the shops and restaurants were closed. 11 hour trip with over 9 hours spent drivingWritten 18 September 2024
- SoniyaC330 contributionsStunning day tour of the Highlands , Glencoe and Loch Ness!We ( me and my husband) took a day trip on 12 September 2024 which covered the Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and the Loch Ness. We got some amazing views of the picturesque Scottish Highlands. The landscapes are mesmerising throughout the journey. The Cruise of the mysterious waters of Loch Ness was a feast to our eyes. Our driver Jada was so GOOD. She was extremely efficient and so warm to interact with. Our tour guide Robert was great too! Throughout the journey he told us about the rich history of Scotland and was funny to the core!! Overall an amazing experience 👌👌Written 15 September 2024
- hawkmatthews0 contributionsGlencoe and Loch Ness tourWe booked this tour with Scottish tours, but you can also book direct with Timberrush, and our driver said it's probably cheaper as well. Our driver Steve b was very helpful and friendly with lots of good stories and information about the places we were visiting and the added bonus was the great weather we got on the tour which really added to the beautiful scenery around the Highlands. Our first stop was in a place called Luss that was on the edge of Loch Lomond, and we had about half an hour to get some photos of the area and some coffee for the drive. The next stop was just to get some photos of Rannoch Moor and Loch before our trip to Glencoe, where we stopped at the 3 sisters, the mountains around Glencoe, and the scenery was just breathtaking. The next stop on the road was Fort William, and from there, you could see Ben Nevis. After that, we headed to Spean Bridge, which was a small village that was used to train soldiers in the war, particularly Commandos and there's a Monument dedicated to the famous regiment. It's also a great place to view the Ben Nevis mountain ranges. The next stage of the tour takes us past the Caledonian canal systems that connected the lochs in the area and travels down to Fort Augustus, which is the start of Loch Ness. After a quick lunch we took the boat tour onto Loch Ness and we were treated to a very informative guide to the Loch and, of course the famous Nessie stories. The boat tour is just under an hour and then we headed back to our bus for the journey back to Glasgow. Not really much to see on the way back except for a quick pit stop in Bankfoot to see some Highland cows or coos in the local dialect. The scenery is amazing and we were lucky enough to have great weather all day with rainbows following our trip.Written 14 September 2024
- brijalb20220 contributionsWork it.🫰🏻It was a lovely experience. Explored the Jacobite train view as well as highlands. Work it…. Must try if you in Scotland. 🏴Written 14 September 2024
- Comrade_Li0 contributionsDisappointing and Unorganized Tour ExperienceWe booked this tour with Viator during our cruise stop at Glasgow Port, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The highlights for me were supposed to be Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle, but our guide decided to skip Loch Lomond due to concerns about traffic on the way back. Instead, we spent an extended lunch break at Aberfoyle, which had very little to see or do. The guides were friendly, but the tour felt disorganized and poorly planned. If I had known in advance that we wouldn’t visit Loch Lomond, I would not have joined the tour. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I can’t recommend it.Written 13 September 2024
- Skipdrop0 contributionsAmazing tour of Scotland, from a local!Brilliant tour, Alistair was a lovely guide and gave us great stories about Scotland, and even though I’ve lived here for near enough 20 years, I still learned lots of new things! We had an amazing tour and definitely recommend going on this tour for anyone that wants a day away :)Written 12 September 2024

Don't expect to see castles or any old towns. In this tour you will drive up to the Glenfinnan viaduct which made this a 2 and not a 1 star review. Otherwise you'll only see the visitor centers. Even for the lunch break in Fort William (which has no fort btw.) with no old buildings you only have one option to eat at a restaurant with a bad rating... In every other highland tour where you take a look at castles you can see the same scenery. I would not recommend this tour.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch,
I'm sorry to hear that you felt that our Glenfinnan, Fort William and Glencoe tour was disappointing to see.
We thank you for your feedback and to hear that you felt like the time could have been better managed on your tour. We try to be very careful with timings as we don't want to be out for too long, as that would be too tiring for both you and our guides.
We do state clearly in on our website and the booking site that this tour is a one-day experience travelling through the heart of the Trossachs National Park. We then stop in Tyndrum, in the Trossachs area, before our Glenfinnan tour continues onwards to Glencoe.
Most guests book this tour to see areas of the Glen, seen in several famous movies and tv shows. It features in James Bonds' Skyfall, as well as in scenes from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Outlander.
We then journey onwards to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, also known to many as the "Harry Potter Bridge". The Glenfinnan Viaduct is surrounded by mountains on the shores of the stunning Loch Shiel. Not only is this location famous for the Jacobite Steam Train, it makes for a great photo opportunity before a visit to the nearby Glenfinnan Monument. Which symbolises one of the most important events in Scottish history. We then travel along the banks of Loch Linnhe to the Highland town of Fort William which sits at the foot of Britain's tallest mountain - Ben Nevis.
During your tour we will stop for a break in places that will offer various food and drink choices (sandwiches, salads, hot food), If you have specialised dietary requirements, we would always recommend you bring food with you on the rare instance there isn't anything suitable available.
All of our well seasoned driver-guides play music and tells lots of stories, facts, and jokes during the tour to share the amazing history of Scotland and entertain you during the trip. We apologize if you felt you were mislead by the tour description.
We've taken on your feedback about the driver-guide format and about the rest areas/activities available on the tour.
Thank you again for sharing valuable feedback with us.
Kind regards,
Amy

The tour is amazing! Our guide Paul was so sweet and caring. We saw some beautiful places and we arrived at Glenfinnan just in time to see the train. Paul stopped a few times to make us view some beautiful places and took some photos. I highly reccomend this tour while you’re here in Scotland!

Excellent day trip with an experienced driver who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic day.
The trip was advertised as historical but was brought up to date with some references to Harry Potter filming sites which increased its relevance for me personally
