          Andrew at Hame Tours
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of experiencing Foyer's Falls and its gorgeous surrounding area through the eyes of our driver Andrew at hametours.scot. Andrew's wealth of wisdom, humor, and personal touch gave us the experience of a lifetime.

          Beautiful tour; beautiful scenery
Our guide Michael did an outstanding job providing us with a memorable day. We got lucky with the weather (beautiful sunny day), and while we enjoyed the sites linked to Outlander, especially the Culloden Battlefield which was very moving, we loved the beauty of the Scottish countryside. A whisky tasting at Singleton was a nice treat, as was the 500+ year old Spanish Chestnut tree where we took photos. Kelli and I also enjoyed meeting "the real Jamie Fraser," who posed for us as only a Scottish Highland bull could! Wonderful day. Enjoyed every minute.

Fantastic Private Day Tour to Isle of Skye from Inverness
Fantastic tour! We went from Inverness to Isle of Skye and stopped at various viewpoints and castles along the way. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and personal both of Scottish history and Scottish culture. He tailored the tour to the level of depth and length we were looking for.

          Hame Tours to the Rescue
Our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary trip to Scotland was in peril of falling completely apart before it could get started. On our first full day in Scotland, the tour guide engaged by our travel company was a no-show. There we were, with a full day trip to see the best of the Scottish Highlands, stranded at our hotel with no driver, no guide, no tickets, and the driver/guide telling us he had us on his books for a different day. Fortunately, the concierge suggested he give Andrew MacDonald of Hame Tours a call. Andrew arrived soon afterwards, and the rest, as they say, is the stuff great travel stories and wonderful memories are made of. Andrew is engaging, personable, deeply knowledgeable, and fun to be with. He got our day immediately back on track. Are you interested in Scottish history? Current events? Architecture? Archeology? Anthropology? How about a four thousand-year old house? Andrew MacDonald is your man. He even quoted poetry and added some Scottish folk songs in a lovely light baritone. If you are planning a trip to Inverness, and are looking for a private guided tour of the best the Highlands has to offer, you cannot do any better than Hame Tours.

Fabulous tour with Michael. Very knowledgeable of Inverness and surrounding area. There were 4 couples and his van was comfortable, clean and a great way to see the area. Incredible tour - Above & Beyond Expectations
Our Outlander experience was more than we could have ever hoped for. Our tour guide, Michael, was exceptional. He was so knowledgeable, funny, courteous, and thoughtful. The trip was much more than just seeing places from the Outlander movies. He helped us so much with our research on our Scottish ancestors. We are forever grateful to him for being so helpful and flexible. He's the Best! We will always remember that memorable day, and we are thankful to Andrew, who set it all up for us and helped us on our first day in Inverness. Fantastic company. Thank you!

Very positive experience! If we come back we would definitely request Michael Kerr again!
Michael was our guide who picked us up in a very comfortable Mercedes van promptly at 9:00 am. He was very knowledgeable, informative and filled with local stories. He made great Outlander references and was informative with fun facts about Outlander! My husband was eager to trying on a kilt and Michael directed us to a beautiful store where they sold kilts and other Scottish apparel.

The highlight of our trip in Scotland!
Absolutely recommended! My family and I did a private tour of the Isle of Skye last week, and it was the highlight of our whole week in Scotland. Communication and planning went smoothly: even though we only contacted Andrew a couple of weeks in advance, he helped us organise it and ensured we had a car and a guide for 6 people. On the day, our amazing driver Michael K. went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience. Michel's a great driver, really nice to chat with, and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Scottish culture and history. He made sure we covered all the spots we wanted to visit, sharing some Scottish snacks and drinks on the way, and accommodating every single preference of our group. We didn't think we could cover so much in one day, but somehow Michael made it happen. Thanks Michael and Hame tours for an unforgettable day!

          Breathtaking tour and awesome guide
Incredible experience made very special and memorable by our guide Michael. They did a great job working with our wish list and building a phenomenal itinerary, from Glasgow to Isle of Skye and Edinburgh. The Highlands were breathtaking and Michael knew the country, the detailed history and special spots, and was hilarious all the time. Highly, highly recommend.

          Outlander Tour
We did a full day Outlander Tour with our guide Michael. He was on time, professional, and friendly. It was the best day of our 10-day Scotland trip. Michael was knowledgeable and flexible (we were able to change our itinerary on the go). I would highly recommend Hame Tours and especially Michael (his personality and sense oh humor were a big reason we had a great day).

          The Epitome of Highlander Hospitality
There are many discussions around what Scotland's greatest national treasures are.  Among the various possible answers, I would add Andrew MacDonald of Hame Tours to the list.  I hired Andrew for a four day private tour. He went to great lengths to put together an itinerary that catered to my specific interests. Our travels took us all around Inverness, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye & the Northern Highlands, and then down the Western Highlands to Edinburgh and St. Andrews.  That's a lot of ground to cover in such a short time, and this is where you'll most appreciate having someone so interesting in the car with you.  Andrew embodies all the Highlander Hospitality that one might hope to find in such a proud and welcoming people. In addition to having a scholarly knowledge of Scottish clan history, botany, poetry, folk music, etc, etc, Andrew is wonderful company, and before long you'll find yourself feeling like you've reconnected with a long lost friend.  Here's what I appreciated most: -- Extremely knowledgeable about tales of the Highlander Clans (e.g. the story behind the Well of the 7 Heads, the history of the Clearances, gory tales of the great feuds between the Clans like the Campbells and MacDonalds, or the legend behind King Brude's throne at the Ewe Tree Cemetery.) There's also much to learn about the history of constant invasions from outside entities. Andrew has a way of bringing history to life  -- He's very personable, charming really, giving you an intricate glimpse into Highlander culture with fantastic recommendations on Scottish folk music (Listen to William Gordon Smith's song "Cam By the Hills,"  or Andrew's own renditions on CD), poetry  (Read Robert Burns' poem "Parcel of Rouges in the Nation," or Cottars Saturday Night), and highlighting tales for the castles, fortresses, ruins, waterfalls, mountains and fairy pools to help you feel like you really understand what it is that makes Scotland Scotland.  -- So hard working:  Andrew ensured we went to places that best suited my particular areas of interest, even when I didn't know exactly what to ask for. I also appreciated how after driving/guiding for 8-10 hour days, he'd then go home and further plan out the next day's itinerary based on what he'd learned about my tastes.  Was delighted to be taken to a tartan shop with hundreds of choices, a scotch distillery where I could buy a special blend that could only be found there in the Highlands as a perfect gift for folks back home, a sheepdog farm, etc -- Great Driving. Spent a lot of time in the car together. He's a pro driver and the best of company. --Flexible. I needed to go to St. Andrews past the time I'd contracted Andrew for.  He offered to drive me and then gave me a mini tour of the area out of the goodness of his heart, making further recommendations on sites not to be missed while I was in the area.  If you're lucky enough to get to the Scottish Highlands, may you also be fortunate enough to find Andrew available to help show you Scotland at its finest.

Andrew MacDonald was our tour guide for two fabulous days of our Highland experience. Not only was Andrew attired in his MacDonald kilt, he was very knowledgeable and full of information about his beloved Highlands. Not only did we take in the famous stops, such as Stirling Castle and Culloden Battlefield and Fort George, but Andrew also took us to out of the way stops including Cawdor Castle, to an ancient burial site (Cairns), Sheep dog herding exhibition small country roads where we saw Highland Cattle and Clydesdales. There were exciting surprises around every corner of our time with him. We look forward to returning for another trip to Scotland and to meet with Andrew for more Highland highlights.
