About
Scotland's 'Route 66' is a rollercoaster road of ruined castles, pristine beaches, dramatic cliffs, and charming villages. On this 3-day small-group tour from Inverness, you explore all of it in the comfort of a luxury, 16 seat mini-coach.  You clamber through scattered boulders and spot a beach so white it makes you reach for your sunglasses. You ramble along cliffs and find a village so small you try to pack it in your suitcase. And you travel along tumbling roads and see castles so ancient you rub your eyes in disbelief. This is the North Coast 500. And over every horizon, you find something surprising.

This was a brilliant tour of the NC500. Weather was varied, but we made the most of it. Our guide and driver Willie was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Willie made sure we were able to take advantage of any great photo opportunities, which there were several. We saw so much in such a short time. Rabbie’s booked the accommodation in advance, which I was happy with. I’d definitely recommend this tour with Rabbie’s.

Very hard to pick favourites as there was nothing to dislike on this tour. Comfortable, clean transport. Friendly, efficient guide and scenery you wouldn't believe. Superb all round

If I have to pick highlights :

Place - The Walled Garden at Applecross. Stopped here for lunch on day 1 and it's simply stunning. You'll go along way to find a nicer setting and the food (I'd highly recommend the smoked salmon from their own smokehouse) was excellent

Views - For me the view from Drumbeg looking out across the Summer Isles was absolutely breathtaking

You cover a lot of ground in 3 days but it's totally worth it.

Seana kept us entertained with her fokelore stories, her knowledge of geology, flora and wildlife and her enthusiasm of her beloved area and Scotland in general.
The tour was wonderful, saw so much in a short time. A great way to see and experience it if you are nervous about driving the route (I was). Rabbies booked my accomodation which was excellent.

Covid measures were excellent

Thank you Seana, it will stay with me forever

I did this tour with Seana and had a great time!

The weather was authentic Scottish; the views were spectacular; Seana is very knowledgable; shared local folklore and legends and knows all the hills and mountains by name and has a keen eye for the local wildlife; and she's a great driver.
I stayed at Bed & Breakfast @4 in Thurso which was wonderful and I stayed in Foinaven B&B in Ullapool which was also a delight. Both hosts provided excellent service.

Rabbles has a robust COVID management process (sanitising the bus daily, provided hand sanitisers and social distancing on the bus - which worked out well and provided masks to be worn on the bus.

I have already decided to do another Rabbles tour and I'm going to try to get on another of Seana's bus.

I have nothing but praise for the tour guide/ driver on this 3 day tour of the most beautiful scenery the Highlands have to offer. Shona (Shauna?) was born in the Highlands and clearly loves the area and her job. She was a fountain of knowledge about every aspect of the tour. She comes from a mountaineering family and knew the name of every mountain! She was also a fabulous story teller and kept us thoroughly entertained with local myths and legends during the ride between stops - not that we needed entertaining, the scenery was breathtaking from start to finish.

I hadn’t heard of the North Coast 500 tour before booking but it really appealed to me and I am so glad I did book it. It is truly unmissable and offers stunning scenery, I cannot emphasis this enough. You travel from Inverness to the west coast following the coastal roads all the way around the tip of the UK back to Inverness. You will not be disappointed!

We had 14 people in our group with a fantastic tour guide/driver (Murray), who had the perfect temperament, love for his country and for the job which shone through! To be able to drive over 500 miles, keep up the patter and point out places on the map above his head, he was excellent. We stopped regularly for the toilet, photos, refreshments, lunch. He dropped us off at our hotel/B&B and collected us in the morning.

The only downside to Rabbie’s Tours was accommodation, as a solo traveller, I had asked to be placed in the same accommodation as the majority of the group, they were unable to do this and I booked my own accommodation (which wasn’t hard to do) but I do think that they should give more assistance to solo travellers, as they make up a huge proportion of travellers today.
