    Dark tour was great
We joined the Dark tour and had a great time. Learned a few historic facts, some ghosts stories and seen a good part of old Inverness. Even the weather cooperated!

Unfortunately with being local I picked up areas where he tried ur guide was inaccurate eg saying Eden Courtopened in 1967,when it was actually 1976!! Also the guide claimed at Cavell Gardens that the nurse was from the Highlands when we was English!!!

Be charmed and educated in Inverness!
My husband and I were fortunate to be introduced to Inverness on our first full day by Christine. Her knowledge of Inverness and Scotland’s history is deep and broad, and she brought it to life as we walked to the various sites in this charming small city.

    A great tour with Elaine!
We had a great private tour with Elaine. We were 15 minutes late because we got turned around with our directions but she was very kind and called and waited for us. She was extremely knowledgable and we learned so much about Inverness and its rich and diverse history! A great tour that I would highly recommend.

    Walking Tour Inverness 1130
Doug was a fantastic guide - warm, friendly and very knowledgeable on the city of Inverness and wider Scottish history. He fielded lots of questions and provided some excellent recommendations for what to see and do after the tour. Well worth it, really enjoyable.

Walking tours - no one turned up???!!
Difficult to write review of a walking tour that didn't actually take place. No email confirming why there was delay. We waited and waited!!? Didn't spoil our day but very, very disappointed about complete lack of communication!!

    Excellent tour
A very informative and enjoyable tour of Inverness. Our guide, Simon, was extremely knowledgeable, amusing and professional. Just the right length of time and good value for the price. Would certainly recommend.

Light drizzle just added to the mood
I'm sure I've already said this was excellent- maybe jet-lag. Informative guide, clearly spoken, well in-tune with the group, managing to avoid local constructions and city events that could have disrupted the tour. Very interesting back-stories and historical notes. We've been here before, but this was a great addition!

    Interesting and entertaining
We did the spooky walking tour at Halloween and it was amazing! We had a great time, it was really interesting, and Scott was a really good guide. We live in Inverness and walk past the same things every day, and never had any idea of the history. We will definitely book one of the tours in the summer for our friends and family.

My wife and I did the walking tour with another couple with Gerard as our guide. It was advertised as 1.5 hours but Gerard was happy to extend this as we had nothing on afterwards and we were so glad that he did. He was really knowledgeable on the history and significance of Inverness as well as the architecture and Loch Ness. It was a really great balance of historical facts, engaging stories and jokes and we would definitely recommend as a must do for anyone visiting

Suzanne was the guide and she was training someone who was going to be a guide in the future . The tour was fun and had a lot of different elements to keep everyone happy i found the guide friendly and helpful and not to over enthusiastic as some times when I have gone on other tours they kill the mood with being a brain box and everyone losses interest at that point in my opinion . I found the tour was just right for me to see the City and feel that if i wanted to explore more after on my own I could all in all a good trip and would recommend 100%

Simon was cheerful and experienced which made the tour very enjoyable for us.
It involved an easy walk of about 90 minutes in which we experienced all the highlights of Inverness city centre and places and its characters.

We thought it was good value for the money and brought the city to life for us.

We booked on a walking tour for Inverness in the hope of learning something about the city in a fun way. What a disppointment it was! Our guide Gerard, talked a lot, but most of it was uninteresting waffle about English and Scottish Kings and Queens. In front of the Episcopelian cathedral he droned on about Henry VIII and his 6 wives before we moved on back to the city centre. He did not even ask us to at least peek inside the cathedral. At that point we had spent already 2 hours (he had said at the start that he would go beyond the booked 1.5 hours) in total listening to his ramblings about the monarchy and had seen only 5 sites. We were so bored that we decided to slip off and do our own thing instead. Why should the history of the monarchy be the main focal point of a walking tour of Inverness? History is so much more. The disproportionate way that our guide spun it out, he must have an obsession with it. Current affairs, local stories of interest, the history of Inverness in its physical and demographic development, immigration, emigration, funny or sad facts, the story of buildings, tips for restaurants or less known places to go - none of this featured in this walking tour. Most of the guide's ramblings were disconnected from Inverness itself and had no topical relevance. His jokes were so lame, you had to look twice to realise that it was meant to be funny. Inverness has so much to offer, but you won't find out about it from Gerard.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we're really sorry you had a bad experience on the tour. We're sorry the tour wasn't up to your specific standards. I hope for those seeing this who are thinking of booking with us, please take note that this is our only one star review, and hundreds of other customers have loved our tour. We pride ourselves on giving a top quality tour with local guides run as a small, local business. The tour focuses on exploring Inverness with a local and we visit many locations around the city, giving a wide overview of the city's history. Whilst this is a history tour, it's also a cultural tour full of local insight, bringing today's Inverness to light but giving you the background to understand how the city came to be as it is today. If there's something in particular you're interested in that we can't squeeze in (we do have limited time after all) then please just ask the guide and they will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. If you have any hesitations about the tour before booking, feel free to email us before booking.

Booked on a private tour on Sunday. Slight mix up so we joined the group tour. Gerard was the guide and he was excellent from the off. His knowledge of Inverness is impressive. We were shown places of interest that we would have walked past without the tour. The graveyard at the end mine (and the kids) highlight. Gerard was lovely with the children and held their interest throughout. He was also sensitive to the pace of the group and always happy to take questions.
He had great enthusiasm for Inverness. Would recommend this tour to visitors to the city - great value for money.

My partner and I were fortunate enough to have our incredible tour guide, Gerrard, all to ourselves during our visit to Inverness. We have booked lots of walking tours in the past and it is very rare to find a guide as fantastic as Gerrard. Not only did he have a vast understanding of the local history of the city but he was also able to put it in context by connecting it to the broader history of Scotland as a country. In fact, on a few occasions, he was able to connect it to the history of other countries too.
Couple this knowledge with an enthusiastic and passionate delivery such as Gerrards and there really is no more you could want from a walking tour.
We have had plenty of great tour guides in the past, but for this reason, I consider Gerrard to be an exceptional tour guide.

We had a fantastic walking tour with Gerard this week. He had fantastic knowledge of the Inverness and general Scottish history and really brought the stories to life in his narrative! He was super friendly and made an effort to talk to everyone. Very COVID aware as well :) Would strongly recommend this tour!

Gerard was a great tour guide. This was supposed to only take 1.5 hours, but Gerard was happier to tell us stories for much longer. He asked if we had other arrangements for the day, and then shaped the tour around our plans. Our group didn't have anything until the late afternoon so he let the tour last much longer than 1.5 hours. He told amazing stories, and wove all the history of Inverness together so it was engaging and fun and interesting. I felt so invested in the tour, like I was listening to a really good book or watching a tension filled TV drama.
He got to know us all on first name basis, told amazing jokes, had a great humour and mood, and more importantly, had a genuine love for Inverness and showing people around the city. I loved this tour and really do recommend it.

Spent a day in Inverness recently and we always like to do a tour of the city to find out about the history and stories that make up the culture of the place. Simon was simply awesome. He was very knowledgeable, answered every question and told the history and stories of Inverness in an entertaining and enjoyable way. I highly recommend to do this tour if you are in Inverness.
