      Stellar!
An absolutely stellar tour! Our guide Harrison was friendly, personable, and very accommodating to all the guests. He even added in stops that were not on our itinerary to enhance the day! That - combined with perfect weather - made this a wonderful experience.

      Amazing experience!
The whole tour was wonderful: we had amazing weather, a great guide (Harrison) who really knew what he was doing, and the views were spectacular! I would really recommend doing this tour! We went in February, so it was off of peak tourist season and there were no crowds and it really added to the experience.

      Amazing experience, very knowledgeable guides!
Harrison and Sonya made this tour a must see. Both were very funny and were very knowledgeable about the sights and had many stories about the area. The surprise addition of seeing the highland cows was much appreciated and very fun! We would definitely do another tour again!

      Amazing day trip tour!
Amazing landscape and nature, excellent travel guides who told us lots of funny stories and Scottish folklore, but also lots of historical information about the different places. 100% worth all the money.

Great day being a tourist in my own country
What a great trip on a beautiful February day. The bus and tour guide Harrison were fab. He gave us lots of information about the areas we were travelling through and good tips for having lunch in Beauly. It’s great finding out more about the history and folklore of your own country.

      Smiled around Skye
Had the pleasure of riding with Harrison, who is a skilled driver and a suave tour guide, keeping the vibe of the tour easygoing and fun the whole time. Two trainees, Amber and Torquil, were the cherry on top. Amber offered insight on Scotland’s biodiversity, as well as some folkloric stories, and a slew of historic factoids. While Torquil shared epic tales of the Jacobites, along with some local knowledge you’d only have the privilege of hearing from a highlander themselves. All around I’d come on this tour again, and again, and aga—

Fun, whisky infused Lochness and Highlands tour!
Great and insightful trip! The weather was a bit drizzly however that did not get in the way. Witnessed sightings of some local flora and fauna as well as historic and archeologic sites. Definitely recommend!

This is a very long tour for families with kids (more than 12 hours). Our driver Iain was skilled in driving a coach down small, scenic back roads (which is saying something), but his story telling left something to be desired. I expected more Harry Potter references on the drive, but we got a lot of rambling stories of depressing Scottish history in which everyone dies. The tickets for the steam train are 3rd class, so don’t expect the carriages from the Harry Potter movies. The scenery from the train was breath taking, however, and worth the cost of the journey.

The Hogwarts tour, a really well organised trip fantastic scenery. Scott our guide was brilliant he told us a lot of interesting stories about Scottish history & Myth including the Kelpie very scary!! Scott really knew a lot about Scottish history and about the places we visited, also he recommended a lot of places to visit.

He has a great singing voice and kept the overall atmosphere just amazing. The bus is comfortable, many stops to eat and use the toilets.
We would defiantly recommend this tour for harry potter fans we all had a fantastic day.

Do you think a 12 hour tour is too long and you won't survive? Not the case if you have Andy as your guide!! What an absolute gem he is, engaging, telling us all about the area throughout the day. The jacobite Harry Potter 1 and 1/2 hrs train journey was the icing on the cake. What a fantastic day day we had!

We took a full day review with Highland Tours and our tour guide was Scot. He made our long 12 hour journey very easy and interesting for us with all his knowledge and surprises about so many locations in and around Scottish highlands. He kept the group on time and was extremely polite, very helpful to clarify how and where to get best picture from.
Scot was honestly one of the best tour guides that we have had on so far. The uniqueness of this trip was that he was driving and also sharing stories, and didn’t let us miss even one single stop of good views.

When I booked this trip with Highland tours, I didn’t come with too high expectations but Scot made it outstanding for us and I want to thank him for an amazing experience.

What a day! We had such an amazing time on this tour! The loch ness morning view was spectacular and the views never got old. Our tour guide Duffy was absolutely perfect. He was incredibly knowledgeable and had the perfect Scottish tunes to play on thr long stretches of driving. The train ride was 2 hours and I was standing up taking pictures for probably half of it. We saw castles and small towns and beaches. Highly recommend. My one tip would be to pack for being hot, cold, wet and have shoes that will work in 3 inch mud.

This was a truly magical day for our family group. I travelled with my parents and grandparents and we all enjoyed every aspect of the tour. Our guide Willie had so much local knowledge and kept us entertained with his stories and accounts of the history. He got us safely to Fort William, made sure we all got on the train, then met us at Mallaig to transport us safely back to Inverness with several stops along the way to lovely little towns for shopping, photo opportunities, and toilet stops. He also gave our group lots of tips including recommendations for great food spots in Mallaig and Fort Augustus. Can’t sing his praises highly enough! We very much enjoyed the entire day and would highly recommend it to anyone considering this tour.

Great all round tour! A bit of a drive from Inverness to Fort William but beautiful views of Loch Ness and a history lesson although with humorous anecdotes about Scottish life. Driver/guide Fraser filled the time with chat and music representing Scottish music through many eras. The train ride on the Jacobite was fun and going over the Glenfinnan viaduct (a once in a lifetime event), followed by seeing the train going over the viaduct from the ground later in the day. After several stops for lunch/snacks and a wee dram, we were treated to a scenic drive along the opposite side of Loch Ness and told about eco-tourism opportunities in this area of Scotland and managed sunset at the end of Loch Ness. A long day but filled with history, spectacular views, one of a kind events and fun!

We had a truly wonderful day in the great care of Duffy on this extremely special tour. Duffy is exceptionally knowledgeable and has real passion and pride in his country which you can’t help be enthused by. The scenery is stunning, with lots of small details in the running commentary that you could easily pass by. The journey on the Jacobite train from Fort William to Mullaig was superb and do take Duffy’s advice to visit the Tigh-a-Clachain restaurant for some wonderful sea food. The return journey gave us the chance to stop at Glenfinnan Viaduct where we had the delight of watching the train we’d departed cross back across the viaduct and get photos, a must for Harry Potter fans. Even more stunning, almost breathtaking, is the view opposite the viaduct of Loch Shiel. A truly special place. I could go on further, but suffice to say we had a very long and extremely delightful day, made even more special by the wonderful Duffy. We can’t recommend this tour highly enough!!

ps: they have USB charging sockets on the bus so that you can charge your phone and devices, and you’ll need to with all the photos and videos you’ll take!

Our tour guide and driver Iain was a really great fellow, knew his stuff, shared his passion and did a great job of looking after us. We left Inverness at 730am, stopped fro a photo op at Urquhart Castle, then onto Fort William and the Jackobite Steam train, we were in the last carriage, meaning the best views of the train when crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

A lovely train ride through amazing scenery, with added Potterhead interests, then lunch in Mallaig - be quick as 500 passengers all looking for lunch in an hour! Then onto the bus and back to Glenfinnan to photograph the return journey of the train over the viaduct, stunning... Back then to the Commando Monument at Spean Bridge and a stop at Fort Augustus before travelling back along the southern side of Loch Ness and back to Invverness for 730pm, a long but fun and full day...

    Highly recommended..

I would recommend this tour if you are a Harry Potter fan and would like to see the Jacobite Steam Train cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct then board it later on.

Our driver-guide Fraser gave a lot of practical information as to what activities and things to see on the different stops. In Mallaig, we had the possibility to go on a one hour wildlife cruise (not included in the price) before boarding the steam train to Fort Williams, which can be a good experience if you have not tried a similar cruise before. I did not find the cruise exceptional as I had already did one before.

On the way back to Inverness we had stops at the Commando Memorial, Fort Augustus, Falls of Foyers, and Dores beach.
