This 2-day tour with an overnight stay in Portree takes you to some of the most spectacular sites on the island whilst passing through some of the most beautiful highland scenery. We begin our journey at Loch Carron for a photo stop. After a drive through spectacular island scenery, we arrive at Dunvegan Castle. Take time here to explore the castle and its history. Next we drive to the imposing and dramatic Quiraing mountain range. Before we take in Kilt Rock, Lealt Falls, and the Old Man of Storr. Our overnight stay will be in Portree. The next day we depart Portree to the Fairy Pools. Bring a pair of walking boots to help you reach them. Following stops at Sligachan and Sconser, we head to Broadford where you can enjoy lunch and look for wildlife like otters, seals and even killer whales. Then, it’s onto our 2nd castle of the tour - Eilean Donan. Explore the atmospheric surroundings and take some great photos. We return back to Inverness via Fort Augustus at Loch Ness.

      Wonderful day around Loch Ness
I had a wonderful time discovering the magnificent landscapes of the Highlands and around Loch Ness. The tour was perfect, and our guide, Liall, provided great explanations and historical perspectives. I loved it! Also, the cruise was lovely, and the visit of Urquhart was stunning. Plus, I really liked hiking a bit and seeing the beautiful mountains covered with fresh snow. Those are wonderful memories. Thank you again, Liall! I would definitely recommend it.

A spectacular and awesome adventure to add to your Scotland "must do" list.
Not having taking many travel tours in my life, my trip to the highlands (Isle of Sky, Eileen Donan Castle from Inverness) with my daughter on January 14, 2024 was an incredible experience for me and well worth the expense. We were greeted by Liall our excellent host and travel guide and hopped onto a mid-size bus that was very clean, cozy and warm as the weather was cold with snow flurries during the day that made the adventure even more fun. Although the castle was closed the day we went, we were still able to walk around the grounds and surrounding scenic area which was breathtaking in itself. The many stops along this route are super beautiful. You cannot possibly take a bad picture anywhere. What we received on this tour is a day we will never forget; beautiful views, great Scottish music, a kind and very knowledgeable tour guide host, Liall, who shared a vast amount of information on the history, the surrounding landscape areas we were exploring and many stories of Scotland. We appreciated his wonderful service to the group. There were plenty of stops along the way to make our trip very comfortable. And the best thing is that we did not have to drive. We just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I totally recommend this incredible experience to all who are planning a trip to Scotland. We thoroughly loved it.

Fantastic tour from Inverness to the beauty that is Isle of Skye. So glad we did this tour and got to experience the picturesque Skye and also see the incredible coastlines. A massive thanks to Liall who was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide throughout the trip. Highly recommend.

      2023 Portree, Skye
Portree was a pretty town but October is not the time to visit. Most of the restaurants were closed or so crowded they didn't take reservations.

Amazing tour and brilliant tour guide Alex
This tour was amazing and Alex, the tour guide, provided so much history and interesting facts during the drive. Urquhart Castle was beautiful, right on the shores of Loch News. And the town of Fort Augustus was very nice too. The Loch Ness cruise was well worth it as well, since they provide a lot of interesting history and information about the Loch and its famous monster, Nessie!

      Interesting
Interesting tour, Alex our tour guide was amazing, very informative super friendly and passionate about his childhood home the isle of skye. Really enjoyed the castle stops and feeding the coo’s (thanks Alex for bringing carrots) . Its really important to know if you are doing this tour in winter, be prepared for not seeing an awful lot! We had a rainy day with low grey cloud which had a huge impact visually on the isle of skye. I was told by several people before going to scotland we must visit the isle of skye as it’s stunning but unfortunately this wont be my memory. Bear also in mind the windows of the coach get covered in rain so even taking the views in from the comfort of the coach is difficult. It’s also dark at 4pm so things being pointed out after that are also not visible. We found the tour too long and it got boring after the lunch stop, this was nothing to do with Alex, he tried really hard to make the best of a bad thing and came up with all sorts of interesting facts. No one wanted to get off the coach for the last two scheduled stops because of the rain so i would have rather have cut the tour short after lunch in the isle of skye and got back to Inverness as quickly as possible. I felt that Alex would have looked at this as a failure on his part if he cut it short but personally i think the winter tours should be shorter. 12 hours is a long while mostly sat on the coach, I would rather have had my evening back. By the time we got out to dinner after a quick freshen up it was nearly 9pm. I don’t regret going it was interesting and I can say ive been to the isle of skye but i think its probably two hours too long, its very tiring and how Alex drove all that way and back is commendable and I felt very safe. Thank you!

Our 1 day Isle of Skye bus tour was amazing! The music, stories, and atmosphere in the bus was great! Our favorite parts were the views at the waterfalls and kilt rock, the coos, and touring inside the Donan Castle! Thank you Liall - Honsey family🫶

Exploring the rich history of Loch Ness
On a November day with Scottish weather, I explored the mysteries of Loch Ness the way the Scots would do. No, not by horse, but in a mini van. Our driver and guide Liall Mackenzie narrated the sceneries and cultural heritage in an informative and humouristic way. Did you know that the Loch Ness is so deep that it is impossible to send a camera down to observe what creatures dwell down there? And that reintroducing the Caledonian pine tree, native to Scotland, so far failed because deer eat the saplings? If you sign up for this tour, you will be amazed about the rich history of this famous part of Scotland. The open and welcoming attitude of Liall certainly added to the experience. He truly beamed with proud about his country, was ever willing to answer questions, and worked us through the day in an easy-going, calm manner. I look back fondly at this wonderful day.

      Scotland with Tom C
What an amazing trip! The tour company was easy to work with and we were able to customize our tour. All we had to do was get in the bus and go. Our guide, Tom C, was the best! He was personable, knowledgeable, explained what were going to see before we got to our destination and made history come to life. He engaged my 15 year old son and kept his attention (not an easy task). He had us trying Hagis, Black pudding, prawn chips and much more. We now consider him a friend and hope he can come to Texas for a visit. I highly recommend Timberbush Tours and don’t forget to ask for Tom C, you won’t regret it!

Great way to see Loch Ness!
I’m not usually a group tour kind of person but this seemed like a great way to see the area without a car. It was that and more! Our tour guide Liall was awesome - informative, funny, and the perfect friendly personality for this job. (He also managed the twisty-turny roads with ease and played us Scottish music.) Each stop along the way was picture-perfect and there was plenty of walking. I also loved the size of the group - just 15 people which felt like it gave us some flexibility. Totally recommend!

First off, you have to do the 2-day tour. It gives you the opportunity to hike and explore and really appreciate all the beauty the Isle of Skye has to offer. And, if possible, ask for Jack to be your tour guide. He made this trip so fun, so interesting, so interactive. He shared stories and legends, history and fantasy, and he was decked out in full Scottish attire throughout the trip.
It was unforgettable and gave me a deep appreciation for Scotland.

We had a 5/5 experience with our 2 day Isle of Skye tour. The tour was everything that was advertised - small group of 16; plenty of stops; great attractions; inclusions/exclusions clearly highlighted. We also had great suggestions for lunch, and how long we would be at each stop. Added to this was the exceptional tour guide Jack. He was knowledgeable and gave us fun facts and stories along the way. He was also a personable tour guide who spoke to everyone, answered any questions and we all had a few laughs along the way.

The accommodation was fairly rudimentary, but adequate for one nights stay. Timberbush Tours do allow you to choose your own accommodation, and if you are selective/picky on your type of accommodation, I’d highly recommend you do this. The bus will drop you off and pick you up the next day.

You will need 2 days to see the Isle of Skye, and this was an excellent way to do this. Highly recommend!

We had such a good time on this tour! It was an ideal way to see the highlights of Skye. Marita, our tour guide, was perfect! She knew everything about Skye, took us to see the most beautiful places, and was so kind and funny (all while navigating some seriously daunting roads). Timberbush arranged our lodging and we stayed in a delightful little bed and breakfast with a stunning view. We got to see so much that we wouldn’t have even known existed without having an expert guide; would definitely recommend as a great way to experience the island.

We did the 2 day tour of skye from Inverness. Overall skye is beautiful and the tour provided a very satisfying experience. The buses were comfortable and the driver guide Sundy was knowledgeable and energetic. The tunes played added to the atmosphere.

Just 1 feedback - the tour spends a lot of time on day 1 in the Donovan castle and we dont get to see properly some other highlights like Old Man of Storr. Even Quirang mountains where we got 20 mins is worth spending more time than going to a tannery for example. These natural wonders deserve more time in my view and the tour should consider planning accordingly.

I had the best time (and weather) on this 2 day tour of Skye with Liall. It was such a good balance of itinerary and free time - we had time to eat, hike, and explore castles, but also had plenty of time learning about the area from Liall. It was absolutely stunning throughout the island and highlands, and Liall was always making sure we had the best spot to take a photo. As a solo traveler it couldn't have been better, I look forward to touring around the highlands further with Liall and Timberbush in the future!

Just returned from a 2 day tour of the Isle of Skye with Timberbush tours which had an excellent selection of stops over the two days and our accommodation selected by the tour company for the one night was a nice B&B. I was originally thinking of renting a car and driving around on my own, but then common sense set in and my wife and I booked this tour and very happy we did. The roads on Skye in many places are just one vehicle wide and getting to the various sights would be difficult if you didn't know your way around. Our tour guide, Jack, obviously did and was a very safe driver. Plus Jack with Scottish Kilts and a Clansman beard looked like he had just stepped out of the movie "Braveheart". Jack is very knowledgeable of the Inverness and Skye areas, plus has many historical stories, which made the tour even more interesting. If you want to tour the Isle of Skye, it would be hard to beat the Timberbush tour, especially if your lucky enough to have Jack as your tour guide.

Would highly recommend the two day Isle of Skye Fairy Pools, and Highland Castles tour. Malcolm, our tour guide and driver, was so knowledgeable of the area and there were many points of interest and stops along the way. Plenty of time was provided at the stops to walk to sites, read information, and take pictures. Malcolm provided an atmosphere that encouraged getting to know others on the tour. Our accommodation in Portree was very nice, The Caledonian. Thomas, the proprietor offered an amazing breakfast - so many choices and food was excellent. Room was comfortably furnished. The Fairy Pools were amazing and the Isle of Skye is beautiful - a definite highlight of our two week trip to Scotland.
