Fantastic Fisherfield - true wilderness and great guiding by Jeannie
I wanted a guide to do the Fisherfield 5, given the difficulty of the 3 river crossings. Jeannie was the perfect companion, knowledgeable, good humoured, patient, encouraging and calm under pressure. We set off at 5am in sunshine, managing to do 4 of the Munros before a huge electric storm forced us off the mountain, 300m short of the final Munro. In an hour, the water courses had gone from trickles to surging torrents - she guided me off the hill, and safely across the 2 river crossings, now full of water. I felt safe throughout, and in expert hands. Thank you, Jeannie

An Incredible Climb of the Ring of Steall
My experience with West Coast Mountain Guides was on The Ring of Steall. My favorite part of the day was the adventure itself. This was added to by Mehmet whose knowledge of not just climbing but also geology and flora was brilliant. It really added to the connection with the mountains and seeing how beautiful they are.

Aonach Eagach and the hairy pinnacles!
Brilliant day out with West Coast Mountain Guides. Our guide Oli was fantastic and made the experience even more enjoyable. His knowledge and skill is second to none and he really make me feel safe and confident when hiking across the ridge and hairy pinnacles!! Would definitely recommend them to anyone contemplating a guided hike, it’s well worth the money and you learn loads on the day as well. I’ll definitely be booking them again and in particular Oli for another guided hike! Thanks again.

      Skye Cuillins June 2023
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience, looked to attain 4 of the more technical Cuillins & ended up with 6 plus some fun time abseiling down the more obscure chimneys etc. To cap a great couple of days the weather was fantastic with the hills generally quiet.

      Excellent Ridge Adventure
Had an excellent day traversing the Aonach Eagach ridge with my guide Aiden and another client. Everything was excellent from start to finish, gear was all supplied if needed and we felt in safe hands throughout but still had a good chunk of adventure.

      Top class guiding company
I had two days, one on Liathach, where we had bad weather, but managed to do the path around the pinnacles and one day on Aonach Dubh doing several classic rock climbs. Both instructors were excellent, made me feel safe and were good company. Organisation is also very good. WCMG are my go to company for guiding in Scotland and I have always had a good time.

      Cuillin Ridge Traverse
West Coast were great in all aspects of delivering our Cuillin Ridge traverse. Clear communication from the moment of booking onwards. The guide they provided, Alex Kay, was excellent and made sure we had a top notch mountain adventure. Tailoring the traverse to our experience and ability while providing great ongoing feedback, instruction and obviously, security. West Coast and Alex were always friendly and helpful both before and after the trip for which they were engaged, willing to answer questions or offer their thoughts on kit etc. I have only hired alpine guides previously and these guys were by far the best I've used. I would thoroughly recommend them for a Cuillin Traverse and Alex and West Coast will be my go to for both Alpine and Scottish winters in the future.

      4-day Cuillin Ridge hike
Our guides Sarah & Sam were cool calm and collected. Very personable and professional. Took great care of our small group (2:1 guest - guide) on the scrambling and abseiling bits. Very encouraging with my complete lack of experience of these activities. Couldn't have felt safer, even on the ascent of the Innaccessible Pinnacle, which is surely the highlight of the whole trip. S&S were happy to discuss daily activities and targets and amend to suit as required by the group. Also met very nice fellow guests in Lorna and Mark, but can't guarantee you'll be so lucky. The trip itself was 4 days of long and hard hikes, up onto the ridge. So a good level of fitness is essential. Such an mazing place to be. Iconic, spiky, rocky peaks which was a privilege to in amongst. Kind of life affirming.

      An amazing experience
I just wanted to say thank you for arranging our hike on Ben Ledi with Cal. We have had the most amazing experience and Cal was just brilliant. He was so present and attentive and even managed to teach us a bit about map reading ! He was very patient and reassuring easy to chat with and equally interested in all three of us. He gauged our capabilities really well and was always there with hands on support or advice when needed. He absolutely made our day and as a result we have made some very special memories and achieved a wonderful challenge. Living with Parkinson’s means that being supported in this kind of challenge is so important to me in particular. Positive people like you, doing what you do, makes it possible for people like me to have the chance to do something like this. Thank you

First time on a munro with a guide
Neil was my guide for my day on Carn mor Dearg, over the arête to Ben Nevis and then down to the two Ben Nevis tops (SW and NW. The weather looked set to be fair and we were off from the North Face car park by 7.30. We had crampons and axe in the event of having to cross hard packed snow but in the end we were lucky. As I had munros, tops and even a “deleted” top to reach I checked the route beforehand so none were missed out. No need to have worried because Neil had it all in hand and we were agreed on our route. We made good time to the summit of Carn mor Dearg and the arête was not as difficult as I had imagined. The snow we had to cross was soft. Lunch on the summit of Ben Nevis at 1 o’clock then just the two tops to do. The descent to the SW was very loose but Neil picked a good line down and back up. We back down to Glen Nevis by 5.30pm. I had been a little apprehensive that the pace would be too fast but it was just right. A really great day out with none of the worry of route finding. Fabulous. Thank you.

West coast mountain guides were great. Our guide Sarah was amazing, really personalised the experience to us and our experience and confidence levels. We had a variety of weather but managed to bag all 11 Munro's despite this. She was really lovely and made our trip really fun, special and most importantly safe! We'd definitely use them again for more Cuillin adventures!

The guides Taff and Sarah were absolutley superb, extremely proffesional and very friendly, exceptional knowledge of the mountains and best routes to use.
Explained all the pros and cons of the routes depending on the weather.
Always had safety in mind and talked you through what is required when attached to ropes, and how to use the equipment properly.
Picked up some useful tips which I now incorparte into my own outings.
    Overall a superb four days.

This is the way to "Do" the Cuillin Munros, what a fantastic experience, Julie my guide for the four days was outstanding, great company, totally confident & competent, I approached the experience with more than a little trepidation, never having done any technical rock climbing & not much scrambling, (certainly not at Cuillin level!) but I needn't have worried, Julie saw me through it all regardless of what the mountains or the weather could throw at us.
One of the best times I have had in the hills, I cannot say thank you enough.

A great 4 days bagging all 11 of the Black Cuillin munros, despite the weather not really playing the game for us. The amazing Mehmet never failed to amaze me with his knowledge, skills and encouragement and I learned so much whilst tackling a challenge that now means I can confidently continue my quest to become a Munro compleater. All the guides we met along the way (there were several groups of us tackling the munros at our own pace) were always friendly and supportive. This last week will be something I will remember fondly for years to come I am sure. Many thanks to Mehmet for all his hard work.

I just had one of the most amazing experiences taking in 11 Munro summits in the Skye Cuillins with Mehmet (our guide). In a group of three, with Mehmet leading, it was what felt like a highly personalised and successful four days out on these technically-demanding hills, including some difficult roped scrambles and the ascent of the In Pinn, and abseils.

Importantly, a group video call prior to departing for Skye was super useful for ensuring we were all as prepared as could be for this challenge.

Mehmet is also the most friendly and approachable guide one could hope to meet. Not only this, he is a font of knowledge on all sorts of topics from mountain flora to, as well as an array of interesting non-mountain related topics! The conversation flowed making the days seem short. Perhaps too short - it's a testament to the experience that the week whistled by in a blur, although in reality I think we were out for something like ten hours a day on average! It's also worth adding that Mehmet helped engender a fantastic vibe amongst our little group of three, none of whom had met before.

At all times I felt completely reassured by Mehmet's meticulous attention to detail, and knowledge of the mountains and weather, especially making contingency plans in what was not the ideal week in terms of rain and potential thunder. Also, at no point did I feel any question or mistake made by me were too silly (and I'm sure a number were!).

Already thinking about my next experience to build upon this epic :-)

Now, if only Mehmet could also control the weather....
