Overview
The  Celtic Tour along Ireland’s Ancient East brings you to the  historically significant Boyne valley situated in County Meath - the Royal County -  from where the ancient High Kings of Ireland ruled. Join us on a day of time travel, visiting the Neolithic tombs of Loughcrew, The predominantly Iron Age Hill of Tara, the spiritual center of Ireland; the 7th Century Christian monastery of Fore Abbey,  Hill Of Uishneach and the Anglo-Norman Trim castle.
Highlights
  • Comprehensive full-day tour: discover more than 5,000 years of Irish history
  • See ancient art carved in Stone Age passage tombs at Loughcrew
  • Visit the Hill of Tara (Temair), where ancient High Kings ruled
  • Enjoy the stories, tales, and insights from a local Irish guide
What to Expect
Meet your coach and local guide at the Molly Malone Statue in central Dublin—bring breakfast to eat on the ride north. Your first destination is the Hill of Tara. Explore the site before continuing on to 12th-century Trim Castle.
Next, visit the ancient town of Trim and tour its 12th-century castle, before you continue east to the Loughcrew Cairns passage tombs.
Continue to the Fore Abbey, a 7th-century Christian monastery, and the Hill of Uisneach, arguably one of the most important ancient site in Ireland today.
Next, board the bus back to Dublin. Your tour returns to the starting point in the evening.

If there's no shuttle, take a cab. It should not be more than a 20 minute ride to the city center, and the tour is a long day but well worth it. Wear sturdy shoes and bring an umbrella. And a camera!
