The tour includes wandering through original prison cells and dungeons plus a lesson in historic torture methods. Climb aboard a replica transportation ship to experience a glimpse into the journey to Van Diemens Land (now Tasmania).
Learn about Irish history including the protagonists of the 1798 rebellion, the overcrowding of the Gaol during the famine era, and the Irish War of Independence. The tour has a spooky element with stories about the prisoners that remain to haunt the building.
Holographic projections bring prison guards to life. Audio headsets in four languages are included and there are interactive points for children. A genealogy center is open for visitors interested in researching their ancestors.
After the tour, an on-site café is available for snacks and drinks.

We were down in Wicklow for the Easter bank Holiday weekend and a friend of mine had recommended a trip to Wicklow Gaol so I booked the tickets online. Its pretty easy to find as it is well signposted and it provides free car parking....More
A very incite-full tour of a historic gaol through time. There was an introduction and then we were free to go around at our own pace. The cells are well preserved and depict different eras and the circumstances of the prisoners.
