Highlights
- Visit wine chateaux in Medoc, St-Emilion, or Sauternes
- Two wine tastings: sample a variety of red, white, or rosé wines
- Guided tour: Learn more about the French winemaking process
- Convenient round-trip transport from Bordeaux
What to Expect
Meet your group and guide in central Bordeaux and travel by air-conditioned coach to explore the wine regions of Medoc, St-Emilion, or Sauternes (depending on the day). Along the way, listen as your guide explains the history of French winemaking and the wines that put Bordeaux on the map. Hear about different grapes, the importance of “terroir,” and the seemingly complex classification system that includes grand cru, premier cru, and AOC.
During the tour, stop at two different wineries or wine chateaux, where you have the chance to stroll the vineyards and explore the underground wine cellars. At each winery, enjoy a guided wine tasting and sample a selection of red, white, or rosé wines. Based on your preferences, your guide can help recommend other varietals you might enjoy.
Your tour ends back in central Bordeaux.

The tour guides on each vineyard were friendly and informative. The sample was very minimum and hardly enough to taste. The guide on our bus could have been more interesting.
